Great location with hot spring”

This is my second stay at this hotel and it did not disappoint. I discovered that it's also close to the Ginza line and a few other train stations besides JR. A grocery store is nearby as is a 7-Eleven. Quiet and two stops away from Ueno and Tokyo station and walkable to Tokyo. Well-located and very quiet. Wifi leaves a lot to be desired, but I would stay here again.

Always a pleasure to stay here”

This is my second stay at this hotel - my first being in 2017, and they still deliver on quality. My only complaint about the Dormy Inn - which is something they do at all their hotels - is the key system where they only give you one key. If there are two people in the room, you will have to coordinate between leaving the key at the front desk and communicating with your roommate about who has the key. Aside from that, breakfast is amazing as always with choices of a Western style breakfast or Japanese style breakfast. There's indoor and outdoor baths with the outdoor bath having fruits in the morning. The 9th floor has free manga to read while enjoying a bottle of ¥100 milk after a bath. Beds are good, rooms are on the smaller side but that's to be expected as it is a room in Tokyo. Always a pleasure to stay at the Dormy Inn on Akihabara. I'll definitely be back for a third year in the future.

Good Stay”

Sandwich between two JR station, less than 10mins walk from either. Reception was efficient and understands simple English. Set breadfast is OK, either Japanese or western. The best onsen in the 10 dormy inn that I have stayed, at least, for man onsen. 5mins walk to Akihabara.

Wonderful onsen (hotspring ) and sauna. Very tasty and nutritious breakfast (we chose the Japanese breakfast) with good salad buffet spread. Also love the supper of noodles and condiments which start past 9 to 11 p.m. Hotel is easy to access. Get out of exit of Tokyo Metro Subway stop called Suehirocho, cross traffic and light and walk past two blocks and the Hotel is there.

Very good and friendly staff in a great location.”

The staff was always there to greet you as you entered or left, very nice. A plus for me is when we needed help making reservations all we did was show them the place and they made it for us. The location was great right in the middle of Akihabara and the hotel was always clean. The only problem we had was the printer wasn't working on the top floor and they didn't understand to get it fixed.

Full of Chinese tourist ”

It is a nice hotel, but there is a group of Chinese tourist which full of the lobby for packaging and keep yelling..... Hot spring are also, they just don't bath before enter the hot spring even I tired to explain to them. The hotel is good but so many Chinese tourist.

Convenience, quality, and comfort for a reasonable price”

Pros- 1 minute walk from suehirocho subway station Ginza line, 7 minute walk to either akihabara or okachimachi stations on JR Yamanote Line. In Tokyo, you want convenience, and after all day walking and shopping or after a long night of eating and drinking, the last thing you want is a 20+ minute walk back to your hotel from the station. Not to mention that there is a 7-11 within 30 seconds walk, and family mart, lawson station, and mcdonalds around the corner. You are also near the west side of Akihabara where there's most of the shopping streets and electric town to explore. The hot spring in the hotel is awesome. Take a bath and soak every night indoor or outdoor after walking all day is key. Makes the hotel worth it just for that. They also serve complimentary bowl of ramen each night so if you are looking for a snack, it's on the house. Perfect for solo travelers or couples. Been to Japan 8 times, this hotel by far best value for the price HANDS DOWN. Will be back again.

The hotel was OK for staying.”

The hotel was good the staff was very kind and service was good. The bed was small but clean and very comfortable. I was sleeping well and the Onsen was good enough.

Nice hotel with excellent staff”

The Dormy Inn Akihabara was very nice. It was about a 10 minute walk to the JR station and a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station. The staff was very helpful as they helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel. We also did arrive to the hotel very early on the day of our checkin. Although the hotel didn’t allow us to check in early, they did hold our luggage and then placed it in our room since we arrived back at the hotel later that evening.

Cozy”

The room is small and feels even smaller since the room I had was further divided into an entry hall, bedroom, and bathroom. The bathroom is fairly standard with a shower only and toilet with washlet. Awesome for your bum! The entry area had a sink with hot water maker, small refrigerator, and some cups and mugs (with green tea but no coffee). The bedroom is cozy but really comfortable. The bed was a double, not single, and the mattress was probably the best I slept on in a Japanese budget/mid-range hotel. Now the reason I booked this hotel was that it had a grand bath on the 9th floor. It is Japanese style so you are bathing with lots of other men. But it's spacious, the water was great, and there is an outdoor bath too. The change area had lockers with keys, hair dryers, and lots of amenities (razors, combs, cotton swabs, etc.). There's even a vending machine so you can have your strawberry milk after the bath (sorry, not in bottles). It was well worth it.

Nice stay”

I have a nice stay in this hotel. 3 min walk to subway station without luggage . 15 min walk to JR akiharbara station with your luggage. Subway station is close but no escalator/elevator - this is not a problem for a traveller with handcarry light luggage. Yummy japanese breakfast and warm welcome - good hospitality from hotel staff.

Enjoyable, comfortable, convenient, affordable”

Enjoyable hot spring, especially with outdoor and indoor... Comfortable environment, room, restaurant... Convenient location, 10-minute slow walk to akihabara jr station, 5-minute walk to popular shopping street, 1-minute to 24-hour wet market... Affordable price, should be my ever cheapest hot spring hotel

We enjoyed our stay in Dormy Inn Kodenmacho, that's why we've decided to another Dormy Inn hotel in Akihabara. The staff are very kind, as we cannot speak much Japanese, lucky we found Taiwanese staff there to communicate. Unfortunately this hotel is old compare to Kodenmacho, also we found there is an area open for smoker in this hotel, this was a pity part during our stay, beside the smoke, and breakfast is not buffet style like Kodenmacho. Another thing is all good.

Great & homey place to stay for a week”

I stayed here for one week to attend a yoga workshop near Tokyo station (2 stops away on the Yamanote line). I Everything was wonderful for a one week stay; breakfast and ramen included, rooftop onsen, free laundry machine access, cleanliness, etc. Everything is translated into English, save for the AC remote, but the staff helped me figure that out. Very friendly and courteous staff members. The one thing that was really troublesome was extremely slow wifi. Video calls were mostly impossible, so I'd highly recommend getting your own wifi plan if you stay here for an extended stay. Otherwise, I had a great little one week getaway after a summer of working hard! Thank you and I look forward to staying again!

Great Stay”

It's quite spacious for a double room. The tatami area is great. The bath and the free supper are also a nice touch to a very comfy stay. it's quite an easy walk from the JR. the metro is closer, and it's quite convenient to get to anywhere since it's on multiple train lines The only downside was that my sleeping clothes were somehow lost after my first night. I think it was put together with the bathrobe and was collected during the house cleaning. However, checking with the front desk did not help and I lost my favorite sleeveless t-shirt and shorts. I also left my email in case they were found (maybe it was laundered together) but wasn't contacted in anyway. Besides the incident, it's a nice stay.

A very special hotel in Tokyo city”

Such a hot weather in August , still enjoy the hot spring provide by hotel, good value. Only paid Yen 600, can have such a good breakfast. Provide a simple ramen in the night time, can see their service with heart

Nice Japanese style stay. ”

I stayed single room with Japanese tatami carpet on the floor. Public hot spring on the roof was very nice and comfortable, perfectly Japanese style, everybody can visit there with Japanese yukata bath robes. (Unfortunately my room did not have hot tub instead.) Free WiFi access can be available for every room. Also every has a wired LAN port, very fast. Location is very good, several minutes walk from JR Akihabara station or Subway Suehiro-cho station. Besides, a free bowl of noodles is available in the evening. Enjoy Japanese style stay!

Fantastic stay”

The best stay ever through my 9th Japan visits. Open air onsen is def a beauty of this hotel, and you can also have free ramen from 9.30 to 11 pm. It is a very good treat after hotspring. Japanese homemade style breakfast is another attractiveness of this hotel. Subway is very nearby, Akihabara station(JR) is about 5 mins walk, and just few steps away, there is a suehirocho(Ginza line) station, so you can easily access to Ueno, Asakusa and Ginza....everywhere!! I def recommend this hotel to everyone, and will stay again next time.

Near Shopping area, good public bath”

I stay 2 night here and have a very good experience. Small room as normal in Tokyo but we not spend much time in room. Public bath is great. Free Ramen available start from 9:30 PM to 11 PM is also good.
