Excellent Customer Service”

This is my second review - for the same trip. I stayed for 3 nights when I arrived to Japan and my experience was less than satisfactory. The room I had was small, old, and quite dingy for what I was used to having at previous New Otani stays. I requested to be moved and the staff at that time did little to help. HOWEVER, I returned the following week for my final 2 nights in Japan and had a very different experience. First, the room was much, much better. Not sure if that was intentional. My first night, someone moved in next door who was extremely disruptive - constantly shouting and slamming doors. Hotel staff were trying to help him several times. This went on all night. Next morning, I asked if he would be checking out and they said no, then a manager came out to apologize and had already arranged for me to move to an upgrade. They moved me to the club floor to an amazing room and left a small gift basket with a personal note to apologize. Incredible customer service.

Good facility but so-so service ”

Stayed there for 6 days and overall is okay. However think about as one of the Japanese top hotel brand, staff quality could be improved more. Their attitude or the way of speaking were polite but always felt lack of ability to think what exactly guest want instead of only following manual. Everyday, house keeping put full of amenity in the room even though there were still plenty such as slippers or towels and they didn’t bring back old news paper so this made kept increasing stuff every day in my room which made me quite annoying. And at the bar, staff only cared where guest could seat at good night view table so put me in very crowded area where I could heard both sides of tables’ conversation clearly... Recently so many places I could find “only looks polite attitude service” in Japan but of course this doesn’t mean good service and I was bit surprised even same thing happen in this hotel. I was actually very excited to stay at this hotel because of the top brand for very long time so this time disappointed.

hotel has great Japanese garden and rooms are very clean. Staff are what you would expect from a five star hotel, very attentive and polite. Thank you for a great stay. Only comment was a 10 minute walk from Yotsuya station bit hard with luggages with you, other than that a pleasant stay.

Old, drab room unexpected”

I usually stay here and I guess I always choose a 26 sq m room in The Main and I took a 23 sq m room this time because it was a better price...and it was terrible. Old, drab, not at all nice. I don't care about the size of the room, but apparently this size request put me into a different room "category". So, be careful with this. And, as someone who goes to this hotel annually...I expected them to do something and put me into a better room. But they did not. Very surprising lack of client care. But, I do still like the hotel for the location, the gym, and will just be sure to get the right room next time. Usually the rooms are very nice.

Excellent hotel”

One of the best hotels in Osaka, always highly recommended but remember this is a huge hotel and getting from room to the main road takes a while. Great fitness facilities as well with a sento (public bath)

Actually we are hosting two American families. There is no shuttle bus to the Metro Station.”

No shuttle buses to Metro Station in spite surrounding environment is acceptable. Choices of cuisine not much if one does not want eat all Japanese meals 3 days straight. One of our guests experience abdominal cramp one night and l requested to the Reception Night Manager can one room checked out at 1 pm ( remembered we had 3 rooms booked ) because our departure flight was in 9 pm. This male manager refused to help and insisted all rooms must check out before 12:00 noon. This guest of mine had watery diarrhoea next day between 7 am to 13:30 noon ? How could this be so “rude “ and not custom-orientated ?

staff are friendly, hotel is so clean one could dine on any floor. Floor designations a bit confusing as some dont match up with room numbers ie room 4611 is on the 22nd floor. No seating inside or outside the tour bus gathering area, no washrooms in this area either. For the elderly, or ladies with high heels(me), this would have been appreciated.

Never feel bad about staying in this hotel. Worth every penny on it. The only minus point is the hotel is quite old.

Outstanding facilities, including a Rose Garden”

The hotel has outstanding facilities, having a shopping center and a great dinning room facing to a garden. Furthermore by those days of May, the Rose Garden was blooming with red roses, a unique show. Staff is very professional and rooms are bigger than average.

New Otani Main @ Tokyo - It is More Convenient than You Think”

New Otani Hotel has 2 part - There is the more expensive section at the Main and also the more casual section at the Garden Court. By Japan standard, it is a big hotel - very spacious and it even has a full fledged Japanese garden with a false waterfall, a koi pond etc. I enjoy my stay in the hotel - and here are the 3 things that I like - (1) It may not be right within Shinjuku or Shibuya that most travellers like to stay - It is right in the middle where you can easily go to Ginza, Roppongi, Shinjuku, Shibuya etc. all within a 10-15 minutes taxi ride OR hop on a train. (2) I enjoy the "leisure and ease" of the hotel - where you don't feel the "rush" and you can simply chill and relax esp. after a long day of meetings. (3) I like the food at the restaurant - If you get the room that comes with breakfast - I'll urge you to go to the cafe at the Main section, top up 1500 Yen and go for the more luxurious version of breakfast, I bet you will like it if u can spend > 45 min there.

Beds are really hard, which is the biggest issue I have with this hotel. Staff are very kind and helpful. Gym in Main tower has machines and stretching area. No free weights (why, I have no idea). I didn't go to the gym in the Garden tower. Running around the Palace is lovely. Route from hotel, around, and back is about 7km.

Excellent Tradition in Tokyo”

This hotel never fails to impress me for its Ohtani tradition hospitality. Add to that, it consistently upgrades and reinvents itself. The recent renovation is just fantastic. Its a perfect fit for discriminating travelers!

Best Business Hotel in Tokyo”

Situated near subway station with elevator and escalators makes this hotel an excellent choice. The lobby is also great place to meet your clients. The rooms and its facilities are great. And they have japanese garden too.

Very luxe hotel in the middle of the city”

This hotel is very lovely, and in the middle of the city. Easy transport throughout both Tokyo and Japan. It was so lovely- I had no idea I was in the middle of the biggest city on the planet. I could hear crickets outside at night, and the staff was absolutely lovely. Highly recommended!

Great Hotel”

It was a wonderful experience in this hotel. The garden is so nice, we have great pictures there. The staff are so friendly and helpful, bringing our luggage to our room. Cherry blossoms can be seen outside the hotel. Access to train stations is easy.

Reliable Good Experience”

Always a reliably good experience. Location is great for access to restaurants and subway. Lovely traditional garden. Room has plenty of space and clean. Not the hippest or newest place nowadays, but good value and service.

Close to Tokyo Metro with Beautiful Garden”

Check in was easy and efficient. Location of Hotel very close to Tokyo Metro Station. There is direct hotel limousine bus from Narita and Haneda Airport and lots of local restaurants nearby along Akasaka Mitsuke area. Ninja Restaurant is just right across the street just below Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu. Room was big and clean and has needed amenities. The hotel has a beautiful Japanese garden with Koi Ponds and waterfalls. There are also shops within the Hotel. Internet was very reliable.
