The staff were friendly and the location was very convenient, close to the train stations. The hotel was outdated but we liked a Japanese style tatami room with a Japanese bath. We’d stay there again.

Great location ”

The hotel is quite dated and despite choosing non-smoking room, we can smell cigarette very strongly. We chose this hotel mainly for its location since it's near many eating and shopping places. It was quite hard for us to find hotels that could accommodate 3 of us in one room at that time due to high season.

Highly Recommended Hotel”

Hotel Parkside Hotel is facing the northern tip of Euno park; which offers loads of attractions such as lush greenery, a zoo, several museums and others. Right beside the park are malls, shops, market place, 24-hour convenient stores, shops and food places, girlie bars and a lot more. Actually, the perimeter of the hotel is a destination already in itself. About 3 minutes walk from the hotel was the nearest train station that brought us to various tourist destinations within Tokyo and nearby cities in just several minutes. The room assigned to us was generously sized, clean, smells good, provided with a comfortable bed and , toilet with a bath tub completed with necessary toiletries. All hotel staffs we had encounter with were helpful and respectful. Our room was religiously cleaned daily the entire 9 days we stayed. Making it a very nice place to go home to after a tiring day of leisure and fun.

A comfortable and relaxing stay at Hotel Parkside Tokyo Ueno”

My first time booking a hotel in Tokyo and it was beyond my expectations - Hotel Parkside Tokyo in Ueno. The hotel is about 5 mins walk away from Ueno station and right in front of Ueno Park and still witness some Sakura flowers. We arrived a bit early and the checkin time is around 2 PM so we have to leave our luggages and we can do early checkin and just pay later and get the keys. The staff are very proper, friendly and courteous. Around the hotel you have many food options and restaurants to eat. Vending machines are also located in and around the hotel. Upon checkin our room is standard room and still got enough space for us to move. The room is complete of amenities, toiletries and replenished everyday. It has air-conditioning and heater. The double bed and blanket are very comfortable. The tub is huge. The view is Ueno skyline which is spectacular at night. The internet is fast. TV channels are mostly local. Overall, very happy and I will definitely book this one again. :=)

I only have good things to say about this hotel. The staff is absolutely accommodating and switch a non-smoking room for me (despite no rooms during booking time). View of the park is amazing, i wished i stayed here for my entire trip. Will definitely stay here again and the room space is amazing!

An Ok hotel. ”

It’s an old hotel but the rooms are quite spacious. We don’t open curtains because the other buildings are very near that they might see us inside our room so the room was very dim. Very few lights inside the room considering the size of it. The moment I came in, the stench of the toilet was disturbing so I just sprayed some fragrance to it. And after sometime, the stench just kinda disappeared. We didn’t have our room cleaned for 2 nights so they slipped a note under our door requesting us to have them clean our room. We let them clean the next 3 nights. They gave new water bottles, toiletries, clean towels and slippers every time they clean. There was one staff at the lobby who couldn’t understand english much but still tried hard to communicate which is good. Bed was soft, too! Tub was bigger than usual sizes in Japan. Spacious table where we worked a bit and a fridge that fit supplies for our 5 days stay. Wifi was also good. Location is near multiple train stations and near Ameyoko shopping. Do not pass through the back street at late nights because it’s full of drunk people and bars and ladies (you know what i mean). This part, i think, is part of the red light District. Pass through the front doors instead.

Great hotel location”

Hotel in front the Uneo lake and Zoo. Plenty food around few 24hrs & girls bar entertainment. 15min walks to Uneo main station and others station. Hotel reception very helpful and have English spoken reception. Room small but really well maintained and comfortable.

I love the view”

I seriously love the window seat. I almost spend a night sit on the window's pane and doing people watching while enjoying a cup of hot tea. A simple but really nice experience for me. Next time i'd definitely gonna try stay there again just because i love the view from our room.

Good”

The hotel location is near some metro stations, 24 hour convenience store and shopping streets. The price is reasonable compared to other hotels in Tokyo.

Fair, clean hotel in good location but old”

location is excellent. easy access to ueno park. sleep comfort was not high, we had stayed in other japanese rooms in other hotels, their futons were great but this hotel was particularly hard. It is an old hotel too so manage your expectations. I wouldn't stay here again but you may want to consider since it is value for money.

Near to metro/subway station”

Great location, near to metro/subway station, a lot of restaurants and shops around the area. The receptionist spoke English, you can keep your luggage at the hotel for the same day without charge after checkout.

Could have been better ”

It's just around the red district area.. The reason we book hotel parkside mainly because they provide daily parking for a lower fee but the staff never mention that we must check out our car at the same time. We went for lunch nearby the hotel. And head to airport right after which around 1.30 . It turn out that. We have to pay extra 648 yen x2 and half hours parking

Got to stay three nights in a special priced room, that I booked on the internet. When I came back one day later, I had a regular double bed room for single use, but even that was good. Nice view, friendly staff that doesn't interfere at all. Quiet in the middle of Ueno. Clean, well working air- con, TV, Wifi and other amenities. Just because a hotel is old, does not mean it needs to be bad. I would like more local people to use it, not only tourists. Next time want to try the restaurants. Was just too tired.

we chose this hotel because of its location to keisei station. only short walk(5mins) to keisei station. ueno JR, and metro station is nearby. clean, comfortable room. huge and beautiful bathroom, designed with 3-in 2 separate areas- bath/shower area, toilet and wash basin/mirror area. we did not take the breakfast , price only 1100 yen if booked the day before.

Walking distance from Ueno JR & Keisei line, Opposite to Ueno park”

It's also walking distance from the famous Ueno night market. I guess this would be marvelous staying here in summer, as it's just opposite to the large lotus pond of Ueno's park. The walkway behind this hotel could be rowdy in weekend's nights, but overall it's a good experience.

Hotel is near to Ueno station (straight line to Narita Airport) and is easy to find. Surroundings have many shopping + eating areas. Nighttime can be a little noisy as the shops in the streets below are open till late night. Overall a good experience.
