Wonderful and clean ryokan, with onsen, close to Ito JR Station”

I booked a single bed in a 4-bed dorm room. The dorm was very large for 4 people, and has a private balcony. The bed was a futon bed. The bed comes with its own sockets For this dorm (and the rest of the ryokan), there are few toilets, and many sinks located around the place (it is an actual game to find out where they are located). The ryokan has a public onsen and 2 private onsens (no reservation, first come first served), that are free for all the guests. The showers are part of the onsen (like the typical Japanese bath). All was clean, the shower was a power shower, with hot water. There are body wash and shampoo disposals. The dorm has a small locker. It comes with a lovely kitchen, where you can cook/heat up your food. Most of all, the place has a very comfy communal area, with many spot to sit and chill, a private tv room area, games, books and a computer that you can use for free. The wifi was good. 150jpy city tax not included in the price. They provide vouchers for 2 other nearby onsens (500jpy) each. They do not provide with breakfast Towels are provided The hostel is located in a quiet area, close to some mini markets and spots to eat out. 4/5min walk to Orange beach. 6/7min walk to Ito JR Station. With regards to the staff, I was welcomed by Tam, who is friendly and helpful, and speaks a very good english if needed. I would definitely recommand this place for a short stay or long stay. The showers are part of the onsen, like the typical Japanese bath. It was not a problem at all for me, but do not expect proper shower rooms.

Fantastic”

K's house is the type of place you will not want to leave. What makes it so special is the atmosphere, the staff who work there having the ability to make K's house feel like home. Our five year old daughter who is normally shy with strangers and new places felt at ease and at home right away. (She still asks if we can go back to J's house) Having the onsen available at K's house is another bonus, we bathed daily at felt so good! They have a shared kitchen and there is a few common areas to lounge around in....do it! This is where you will meet other people from across the globe. Highly recommend K's house.

Onsen on site historical ryokan ”

We all enjoyed the onsen, my older children enjoyed private onsen. Our room was looking over the river, very peaceful. We liked this town less crowded, yet have many restaurants, and our favorite was Japanese confectionery store "sekishuan" ( 石舟庵)

Gorgeous traditional hostel similar to a minshuku”

Beautiful old building with renovated zen like common areas with a good kitchen. The onsen is awesome and the location is good, not far from the ocean and right along the river. The room I stayed in was basic but ok, I’m sure there were better rooms available. Excellent hostel overall.

Change Your Minds About Hostel with this Wonderful Place!”

K's House Ito Onsen would change your mind about hostel living. Equipped with an in-house indoor onsen, communal kitchen, wifi and lounge (tatami style) facilities, this hostel is sure to be the one place to return to at Ito. You can choose to bunk in a private room or in a dormitory, and there is a option of private bathing on each of the two floors. The building overlooks a canal/river that is lined with trees that blooms sakuras during spring. If you are lucky, you may get a room with a sakura tree right in front of your window. Not your regular type of hostel, K's House Ito Onsen boasts traditional tatami style living in a wooden building imbued with rich Japanese history. Floors and doors creak as people walk around, bringing one back to ancient Japan. Think samurais and geishas, and you get it.

Authentic Ryokan Feel”

K's House is real value for money, the historical feel the building itself exudes is already well worth what you'll be paying. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated, complete with an indoor onsen. It's a really beautiful place! Furthermore, the staff are friendly, informal and all speak good English! Ideal for young, foreign Travelers. (Remember to bring your own toiletries though!)

We really enjoyed our stay there. It has very nice and real japaneese atmosphere. Complintary onsen is open 24h. Nice view to the river. Very nice and helpful staff: we arrived late and they patienly showed us everything. Thanks

Traditional Japanese Style Ryokan near Ito Station.”

Stayed 2 nights at K's House (Ito) with my family from 31 Mar - 01 Apr 2016. It's an old traditional Japanese style ryokan, with natural onsen facilities. We booked the double bed room with river view and from the balcony, you can relax the view was great. The room is in Japanese style tatami flooring with futon beds - very spacious room, very neat and clean. Apart from the public gender segregated onsens, there is also a private onsen which is available for the guest usage, both are free of charge. The private onsen though is pretty small and is only suitable for single individual usage. There are also kitchen and laundry facilities that guests can use. The ryokan staffs were very friendly and helpful. The con aspect being that there isn't any ensuite toilet, all guests share the common toilet available at each floor level. Distance to the Ito station wasn't exactly near, but is still manageable with 10-15 mins walk. Overall, K's House (Ito) is an great ryokan, and should I visit Ito again, I will definitely stay there. Western style Ryokan experience”

We stayed at K's house as a family of 5. We booked the family room for 6 persons and had plenty of room. Our room had a private toilet and shared shower, onsen areas but there are private baths as well. Our room had a great view of the river and the location is close to restaurants, shops, and the coast.

Amazing Gem; Comfortable and Great Location ”

It's located right in the middle of town, with great food all around the hostel. The hot bath is clean and temperature just right. Lots of lounging spaces to chill and hangout. Kitchen equipped with all utensils and also a Brita water purifier. Rent a bike to check out the small fish market by the waters which has a a little dolphin training ground too.

Great getaway in the countryside”

Loved this little ryokan style hostel tucked away in Ito, about a twenty minute train ride from Atami. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I stayed for four nights in the shared dormitory room and paid about $100 US for the entire stay. Free internet and the onsen is included in the stay, you can go in anytime of day and there is a private bath on the second floor. Amenities include hair products, body soap and blow dryer. There is a small room adjacent to the dormitory room which overlooks the river and the facility is right next to the historical Tokaikan which served as a ryokan from 1927-1995 and is now a cultural and historical sightseeing spot. The facility also includes the use of a kitchen, stove and refrigerator so costs for eating can be kept to a minimum. There is a washer and dryer that can be used for a nominal cost as well. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to family and friends.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”

We had a very nice stay here. The building is historic indeed and has the proper old-days onsen feel with beautiful details. Even the dorm has a lovely river view.. The private rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff spoke good English which is rare in Japan and was extremely friendly & helpful. Recommend the nearby fish restaurant also, great value for what you get. Would highly recommend this place to anyone & we will come back again...

Impressive Hostel in Ito”

we're a group of 2 couples visited Ito in Mid October 2011. we arrived late & the staffs @ Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen were so nice to wait for us. they helped us to find the nice parking place which were free for overnight parking. this saved us lots of money!! We were lucky enough to join their big festival (don't know the exact festival name, it's something to appreciate the good fishing... etc). It was undoubtedly an valuable experience to all of us! The hostel is situated very close to the venue, so we could participant the festival easily! we were also impressed by the hot spring in the hostel. u could go to the public one or u could enjoy a private hot spring privately on your floor. everything there are just so calm & comfortable! surely we'd return!!

Everything is fantastic except you need to bring your towels. Because of that, you don't pay money for renting towels.

Wonderful historical building with nice river views. Tiredness just melted away after using the private bath facility. Had our best night of sleep after a long while.
