The hotel is actually an inn”

The hotel got a superb location. It is situated between the Ueno park and the bustling downtown. The staff are helpful and nice. However, your sleeping quality is very much dependent on your neighbour co-operation as the wall is so thin. I enjoyed the breakfast as having my food while admiring the lotus-leaf-filled pond and food is acceptable though not in a wide range selection.

Hotel is just across the station if you'll take skyliner to/from Narita. Staff are friendly and polite. Room size is bigger than typical Japan room size. Only drawbacks are the lack of bidet and tightness of corridor space going to the rooms.

Perfect location and warm welcoming staff!”

Very good location and can easily get UENO JR train/metro to access another parts of Tokyo. All their receptionists are friendly , polite and helpful as used to. This is my second time staying here and will come back again next time. As I have already stayed in 2 of the hotel room type in the pass and I think I would prefer their Japanese Tatami Style room which is unique and comfy than the triple beds room which was a bit old and has a broken sofa in the room. Over all , It worth my money!

Good loation”

Located right at the edge of Ueno (Keisei Line) and Ueno Park, it's a few minutes walk to JR station through the underground - so you won't be afraid of rain or sunshine. Just diagonally right and across the road is a busy shopping area, more like a China Town.

Great Location, Ample Breakfast”

The hotel is just across the street from Keisei Ueno Station. The buffet breakfast provided a good variety of food with quality while you can appreciate a view of a lotus pond adjacent to Ueno Park from the restaurant's window. The room space is a little cozy comparing with other new boutique hotels. Although the place is quite old, the room was clean and the towels and Nemaki (sleeping outfit) were new and super clean. Daily bottled waters were also provided.

I stay at here for 2nd time. Staffs are still kind and breakfast’ s still so good but I felt disappointed when I found no clothes hanger in toilet.

It is very near from Ueno Keisei Station just across the road. Staff can speak English and are very polite.

This is a great small hotel conveniently located in Ueno, Tokyo. It's straight across the road from the Airport Skyliner rail terminal and only 5 minutes walk from the main Ueno rail station. The rooms are typically small but has everything you need. And the staff are fantastic.

This hotel is in a great location being right across the road from the airport Skyliner train exit in Ueno. It is an older hotel but it's comfortable and everything works. And the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location and value for money”

The location of this hotel is exceptional, if you getting from Narita airport to Ueno by keisei skyliner. There is just a small crossroad between hotel entrance and keisei ueno station exit (Ikenohata side). The room is quite old. Hotel restaurant view is Shinobazu pond but there is some smoking smell from the table in next smoking area. Next time i visit Japan, i will try to book for japanese style room with garden view.

Very convenient if you want to stay near the skyline to the airport.... literally across the entrance of the skyline...

Best location and value ”

Stayed five nights in a Japanese style room. Room is quiet and small but adequate for one person. Sleeping on mattress and tatami mat is comfortable. A few trivial cons: TV has only one local and one English channel; absolutely no view and noisy washroom fan. Opted buffet breakfast is delicious in a sitting area with a great view of a lotus pond and morning exercise locals. Staff at the reception are all friendly and courteous. The use of an onsen "privately" on the top floor is a splendid bonus. Location is unbeatable with everything within walking distance: Ueno Park ( with five museums/art galleries, a temple of national treasure, Ueno Zoo, great park/ponds for strolls, Ueno stations with multiple train routes including one for Narita Airport and endless shopping /dining opportunities like OIOI, AbAb and Matsusakaya.

this hotel is the perfect location for me, after a long flight and Skyliner ride into Ueno, the hotel is located right across the street from Skyliner station. It is minutes by foot from JR station and the Metro making it easy access to any where in Tokyo. The hotel staff is great and ensures a comfortable stay

An overnight stay”

Location is very convenient to stations, park,eateries n shopping. Staff is friendly n really to help. Room is of reasonable size n bathroom is very small. My windows are facing a wall. It was my fourth time staying in kinuya for convenience to the airport station.

Good location budget accommodation friendly staff”

Great location next to jr station, kensei ueno station and near the metro. Walking distance to many museums and art galleries, zoo etc being next to Ueno Park. Great perks with being able to use a free mobile phone with data included while out and about. Room was a little musty but I got used it . I think the rooms over looking the park would be better as the windows/doors open.. amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, hair brush, flannel, toothbrush set etc, hot water urn in the hallways. Loved the free massage chair. They have a private bath but I didn’t ultise.

Best value for Early Skyliner travelers. Super convenient location with relatively spacious room (in Japan area). With Japanese family type bathroom on top floor but didn't get a try this time. Overall good!

Good for transit, night life”

I have stayed at the Kinuya many times. It is not a high-quality, multi-star hotel -- but if you need an affordable place to stay that is close to airport and nationwide train transit, close to the great night life of Ueno, and close to museums and the zoo, this is a great place to stay. It's literally directly out the west exit of Ueno Keisei station, so if you come on the skyliner train from Narita, you'll have a very short walk to your lodgings.

Great Location ”

Hotel is just across a minor road of Keisei Skyliner station and a short distance from Ueno station. Facilities of the hotel has been improved from my last visit and although the room was small, it has all the basic necessities including a free IDD call for oversea where you cant even find in some 5 stars Hotel ! Wifi signal in my room was strong and stable. Yes, i will be back to the same hotel if i am to stay in Ueno again.
