Tiny room but best location for us. Quiet and just a block away from the bustle of tourists. ”

It was our first time in Japan and we didn’t expect the hotel room to be this small! Its like being in a ship’s cabin without the movement of the ocean waves. Good location though as the vicinity is quiet and you will be able to pass through local shops and quiet streets, and then on the next block, you will find streets teeming with tourists. We will definitely book this hotel again when we go back to Asakusa! Btw, I personally think they have the best karaage I’ve tasted in our 2week stay in Japan. Two thumbs up!

The hotel was good and nice but really far from the train station. You need to walk for 10-15 minutes (depends on the line), especially with the big luggage this can make you exhausted. But there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, you can take bus to go to near station. Alternatif for first/last day: using bus to tokyo station, then from their you can choose bus/train to airport or to go to shinkansen jr. So no need to walk as the bus route also include tokyo station. Hope this help

Good value for a decent place”

Budget price for a couple - suitable for those not looking to stay in a capsule hotel but in low budget. Convenient to walk from nearest train station - Asakusa.

Welcoming Staff but Far from the Train Station”

The best thing about this hotel are the staff and the breakfast. The staff are all smiles when they greet you and they are really helpful. If the focus of youe trip is the Sensoji temple and the Tokyo Skytree then this place is ideal. However, I do not recommend it for exploring other parts of Tokyo. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Asakusa Station. This hotel was difficult to reach because we had heavy luggages. I recommend taking advantage of the bus stop infront of the hotel. From Tokyo Station, go to the Yaesu North Exit Bus Station and find Bus Stop 12. Get off at Asakusa 7 (I can't remember the exact name).

Good location, about 15 minutes walk to Asakusa metro station or 5 min by bus (the bus stop is in front of the hotel). The staffs are nice. The room is clean but quite small. There is a bath tub in the toilet.

Great hotel in the Asakusa area”

We chose this hotel because of the reviews here in Agoda and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were clean and the staff were courteous and welcoming. And though the nearest train station was quite a walk away, we didn't mind walking there everyday since there was so much to see in the area. This was definitely worth the money. We won't mind staying here again on our next trip to Tokyo.

Pros, accessible to tge metro and subway train station. Close to some tourists spot cons, small room for couple, My clothes stayed in the suutcase for the whole of our holiday. Breakfast is not good for the price we pay.

Room was very clean”

My daughter and I had 2 large and 2 small carry on, fits inside the room. Very pleased that they gave us a room facing the Skytree. There's Lawson store across the street. The bed was comfortable. Will go back again.

Good but Far from subway”

Good place but too far from the Asakusa Subway station around 15-20mins walk. Very nice hotel. Very clean as well, receptionist can speak english

had 6 nights at this hotel and everything is great. room is clean, 10-15 mins walk to tokyo metro, bus stop right in front of hotel but i dint manage to ride their public bus, staffs are very helpful. highly recommended if you know how to take its public bus.

Value for Money”

Location is a little bit far from the train station (10-15min walking) and taxi is not available most of the time. But overall, we had a great time of staying in this hotel. Cleaning was done everyday, towels, slippers, toiletries and robes were replaced everyday which makes it a great value for money - just excellent service. Their staff was kind and always happy to assist :) I will be happy to recommend this place or will book again in the future.

Great, friendly, fantastic hospitality hotel in Asakusa, especially when you're on a budget. A nice 15-20 minute walk to Asakusa strip mall, Seno-ji Temple, and the subway is very convenient. The staff is great, we always came back to a very clean hotel room! I would not recommend anyone doing laundry there if you're the type with lots of laundry, definitely walk to a coin laundry facility that's 10 minutes away from the hotel. A comfortable and safe environment; next to 711 and Lawson which makes the whole trip amazing.

i stayed for 4 nights and it is really great, the room is small but very comfortable. i like the bathroom small but clean. we can see tokyo sky tree at our window room. i will stay at this hotel for the next trip.. thank you smile hotel asakusaa...

Great value, nice area”

I stayed for 9 nights at an amazing price. The semi-double was doable with 2 people and luggage, just make sure you get along really well because you will be in close quarters! The staff and facilities were both great. I will say that one staff member incorrectly told me I could ship my luggage to Nagoya same-day (at New Year's during the holidays), but the next staff member I asked took care of everything perfectly. I think he may have been new. Anyway, this is a great choice for those wanting to see tokyo without staying in a noisy or crowded area! Convenient for Sensoji and about 10mins from the subway.

Long distance from the subway”

Rooms were small but clean. It can fit a small family (2 adults and a child). Restroom is small but very clean with good warm water. Breakfast is good. Location-wise, its a bit far from the subway. You have to walk a good 15 minutes, not ok for old people. We’re with our uncle who has bad knees so we had to take the bus to the subway for 210 yen or take a cab. I will recommend the place for young people who do not mind walking distances. I will stay here again, though. Good value for money.

Bus stop right in front of the hotel (suitable for older people with knee problem). not far from train station (1 km), walking distance to Nakamise Street (1 km), value for money, not far from mosque (400 meter).

Best Value”

I booked this hotel in advance and got their cheapest rate for a double room with private bath. The room is not that big but cozy. They make-up the room everyday and provide toiletries with complimentary tea. The staff are nice - lend us weighting scale for our luggage - and they even have a laundry area which is a plus for me. The hotel is a bit far from Asakusa Station but still walkable. There is a bus #12 from Tokyo Station that stops infront if you dont want to walk. I haven't found any other hotel that would beat this with the price and location - walkinh distance to Skytree, Sumida Park, Sensoji Temple, Kaminarimon and Nakamise Shopping Street. There is also a nearby Don Quijote. There are convenience stores like Lawson and Mini Stop nearby and some awesome ramen places. And oh, it's also a couple of stations away from Ameyoko, Akihabara and Tokyo Stations where cheap shopping areas are located. The only cons I can think of? They don't have free bottled water or water dispenser and you have to buy everytime or refill in train stations and restaurants which are also safe anyway. I will book this hotel again if I can and recommend it to friends. Thank you Smile Hotel. 🙂

Difficult to walk to the hotel to many exits at Asakusa train exit. We took the taxi and it cost us only 490 yen which is cheap about AUD 7.00. The Sumida Park is just across the hotel a 5 mins walk and the Tokyo Sky tree is close to hotel also 5 mins walk.Lawson supermarket is just across the hotel where you can get milk n snacks. Staff can speak English and was helpful with answering our questions.

The staff doesn't smile much, in spite of the name !! Breakfast not so exciting as in other Smile or similar hotels. In the bathroom and in sleepingroom I've found long black hair, unfortunately not mine ... In case of need, I'll go back there, but I know there are better ones in the same category.
