Great Affordable Place for a Quick Trip”

You are close to two metro lines here. This part of Ueno is lit up at night with a “back ally” vibe to it. Only about 20 mins away from most things you wanna see in Tokyo and 40 mins away from the others. Used to be a men’s only hostel, so there are mostly guys staying here. I (female) stayed on the mixed-gender floor. Felt perfectly safe. The toilet here is for both guys and gals, so if you feel awkward about that ladies can go down a floor to use the women’s only toilet. The showers on mixed floor are girls only, however, so gents have to use a different floor for showering. Staff is overworked and frazzled but actually very nice — they’re trying their hardest so please be patient with them. I felt really safe here but BEWARE of the African guys hanging out on the street corners who approach you and act overly friendly (tried to greet me with a fist bump). They are well-known scammers in Japan and I’ve had too bad incidents with them. They’re not gonna assault you, they just want $.

Must have stayed here 10 times already. My 2nd home when in Tokyo. Nuff said! But for the sake of newbies and first timeres here are the things I like about it. -Cheap - Shower and Onsen all you like. 3 or 5 or 10 times. Toothbrush/Shavers/Cream/Soap/Shampoo all free - You don't really have to sleep in your assigned capsule. YOu can sleep in the TV lounge. - You can bring in food and use the pantry. - the local shopping and eating place known as Ameyokocho is just outside the hostel door. Train to / from the airport. Subways lines Ginza and Hibaya just steps away. And also Ueno Park.

Very Recommeded Place”

I highly recommended this place. Very cleanness, comfy, quite, and strategic. Nearby station and public place. Easy to find food corner, cafes, coffee shops, stores and many things. Booking room from Agoda's apps more cheaper than you book on the spot at the hotels.

Better than expectation of a Budget hostel”

We booked a family room with 2 double decker beds for 4 adults. We hv a room for ourselves but shared toilets n bath . It comes with a price. Clean n comfortable stay. Near rail stations and plenty of eateries. Recommended. Book early for discounted prices.

Excellent for Solo Lady Traveller”

The location is nearby to UENO Station, UENO Park & other shopping areas. The staffs available 24/7 to ensure the cleanliness and ladies areas are really excluded/secure from the others areas. The bed is comfortable and spacious.

Cheap, cheerful, and good location”

Good setup and location with nice bathing facilities and luggage storage service. Only drawbacks are that the lockers are slightly small and that some smoke from the smoking room drifts up to the sleeping areas. Small quibbles, and otherwise a great stay.

It was very conveniently placed close to Ueno station. The entrance is from a busy shopping street. I was a little bothered by the lack of policy around quiet time after 22:00 or 23:00 o’clock which meant that everyone was packing and unpacking in the middle of the night.

I like it here! Very nice and friendly staff. Near Ueno station and Ameyoko market for food tripping! Clean rooms, lounge area is big, there's microwave for your food, and foot spa. Bathrooms are clean too (free shampoo, body wash), there's a specific area for make-ups where there's free facial toner, sunscreen, facial wash and hair dryer! I will definitely be back here.

Don’t book larger capsule ”

When a couple or two friends stay there, they talk as if it’s a private room. No signage that it is a quiet zone and doubt staff reminds people about that room. And people pack and repack near the capsules. Just the poorest design.

Good accommodation in Ueno district!!!”

The accommodation is very good, receptionist is very helpful and so nearly to walk from Ueno train station (JR / Subway / Keisei) and ameyoko market. There is a convenience store next to the accommodation (7-11) . The accommodation is fully equipped with pajamas, shampoo-hair condition, shower cream, body&Face cream, hair dryer, towel, toothbrush,cleansing - oil cleansing.

Conveniently located in the bustling Ameyokocho Market and within walking distance to Ueno Park/ Ueno Station, this hostel is perfect for solo traveler who is on a budget yet looking for a nice, clean place to spend the night. The indoor onsen/sento is a bonus!

Safe, Clean, Busy, Friendly”

This hostel seems to be a huge destination for foreigners. There are floors for men and floors for women. You cannot access the floor of the opposite sex. The capsules are bigger than most places, and there are lockers. The common area for the women was very open, relaxed, and therapeutic. The area featured manga, television, a refrigerator, cooking utensils, a separate shower/ restroom and makeup area, and massage chairs. It felt like an escape from men. It was lovely. The staff was friendly and attentive. The location is easy to spot and a good walk to the station. For those with travel disabilities, this location will be some extra effort to get to, and there are stairs that cannot be avoided.

Everything was great”

I booked this hotel for two nights and other hotel for two nights. Price are almost the same, but this hotel is so much better than the other. I should hv spent my four nights here. It is clean and bed are wide. Toiletries are prepared and there are even a small indoor garden in the hotel. Not only sleeping, but i can also relax by using their facilities. I would definitely go back again if i go to tokyo.

Very value for MONEY! ”

The women’ one is great! Nice and clean cabins and big lounge area for people to chill out with great layout and food massage thingy there. Shower area is also cool, toilets and showers are separated. It’s just around the corner of Ameyoko market. Very convenient.

The good: - super convinent location - sauna / large bath - lounge area - tv in each cubicle - decent locker space - toothbrush, towel, razor, soaps, all amenities are complimentary - good for budget travelers - close to keisei skyliner train to Narita airport, 35 min train ride to Haneda airport Not so good: - slow elevator (just use stairs) - some male guests snore loud ( bring earplugs) - no prayer room - climbing up upper bed bunks can be :-/
