Pretty good”
With friendly staff, clean and quite place, a little bit far from Minami station but I prefer this because I compare with nearest Minami station hotel or guess house they really not allow friends to visit them event in lobby but Aizuya Inn is pretty nice with biggest heart to welcome friends hanging inside lobby to know each other's sharing their explore in Tokyo and others countries. Consider is cheaper budget room if you would like stay longer in Tokyo. Staff will going out having fun, bar with you. It was really fun I compare with so many hotel in Tokyo. I will go again when I go again in Tokyo.

Good as it gets for the cost”
the aizuya inn has a wonderful interior, pleasant staff, and is inexpensive. the staff was in fact much nicer and more accommodating than the staff at most american hotels i've been in. on the other hand, the rooms are very small. for a single room, it was roughly 5 feet by 10 feet. i had no problems with this, as i was not visiting japan to spend time in the hotel. second, the hotel is in one of the poorer areas of tokyo. i would describe the area as warn down. at no time did i feel unsafe in the area, but do note there is absolutely nothing of interest accessible without a quick train ride. on that note, the train station the hotel is near (minami-senju) is rather distant from most of the popular areas in tokyo. traveling to shinjuku from the hotel took about 40 minutes (using the jr joban and yamanote lines). akihabara, on the other hand, is only about 5 minutes on the metro. if you are considering visiting the aizuya inn, you probably are doing so because of the cost. although there are certainly some downsides to the hotel, for the price you are paying, i doubt there are many better options in tokyo.

Comfortable budget stay, kind and helpful staff”
i thought that i had made a review weeks ago about the aizuya inn. now i found that i still can make another reviews...so i loved to say again that aizuya inn is a good place to stay for budget/solo travelers. although some people said that the location maybe a bit far away from the city center, getting around by public transport is very convenient. within 30 minutes, you can go to the cbd by train.

quiet and friendly hostel”
information. staff where helpful and knowledgeable. just ask them if you want to know something. and they can help you phone up and arrange things at your next destination. plenty of brochures are available as well. internet. free and fast wifi and pcs. local tv only in the rooms. food. the kitchen is tiny but has all the equipment you need. tea and coffee were complimentary as well as basic breakfast. you can score a full breakfast one day by promising to write a review! a table is available to eat at. across from the inn is a butcher who sells fried food cheaply. allow y1000 for good meal at a restaurant and y500 for a small beer. vibe. friendly and relaxed. guests are quiet and considerate of others so you can get a good sleep. location. at least 20 mins walk to anything interesting in asakusa. trade off for the quietness i guess. 10 mins to train though. we walked about to ueno one day - 70 mins. trains shut down after midnight so party goers might want to stay closer to ueno/shibuya/rippongi. extra costs to plan for. a load of washing cost 100 yen for washer and y500 for drying. shower y100 (x2?). towel y100 (once off). all day on tokyo metro y700. shower and toilet. shared but clean – no probs. plenty of time to shower (5 mins) if you turn the tap off while lathering urself up. timer only counts down while water is running.

Budget hotel with good food”
aizuya inn maybe the cheapest guesthouse in tokyo you can find on the internet, so i guess i can not complain too much with such price. but i try to review subjectly to make some inference for the comers. the reception lady is very nice. the smell in the shoes closet is terrible. the food in the restraunt are quite good. the bed in the domitory is too soft and making very loud noise when you make a slight move. you have to pay 100 yen coin for 5 minutes hot water if you want to take a shower. the jr and tokyo metro stations are 10 minutes walk.

Gorgeous litle inn with great service”
we were upgraded to a private room at no extra charge. the entire building had super cute decoration with heaps of character - we made a point of exploring the 'themes' of all the toilets and showers. the bar is very reasonably priced, is a bit cozy and serves decent food and the bartender nori-san made some amazing drink recommendations. the room we had had individual air conditioning control, a television (not that we used it) and a large window we could open as we wished. the comunal area downstairs had a comfy, quirky sitting room and computers with internet access. there was also a laundry, a little mini kitchen and vending machines. everything was wonderfully clean and new looking. there was free wifi and 'events' at the bar whilst we were there (with free food). it is about a ten minute walk to minami-senju train station (getting the right exit is a bit tricky) and is close to tokyo central, akihabara, and less than a half hour train ride from harajuku. all in all, we two aussie girls both loved our stay here.

Great location and privacy at low price”
For the price you would have a hard time finding a better place. You get the comfort and privacy of a single room at the price of a single bed at a hostel in other areas in Tokyo. The location is pretty friendly as well. Ten minutes to Ueno and about thirty to Roponggi. Like most other places, there is a coin operated shower and laundry. The drier is seriously small and underpowered though. If you're trying to dry something like jeans, it would take 3 coins (300 yen at about 1.5 hours.) Alternatively, they have line drying on the roof. There are 7-11s about 2 minutes from the hostel and noodle shops and a Dennys near the train station. The bar across the street also serve an option of English/continental/Japanese breakfast and you can get a 100yes discount from the hostel.

Ok for a day or two”
The Aizuya Inn is quite a way from the Station, and there is no signage from the main st (atleast I did not see any) However the room was very clean, with TV. The rooms are tetami - so if don't like that pay more and stay somewhere else. The Kitchen / laundry however was dirty - other guests are such pigs. Most of the other travellers there were from the USA, so that explains why. You have to pay for a shower - yen for 5 minutes of hot water.

Great place to stay in north Tokyo”
I had a really nice stay. Everyone there was friendly. Inn keepers were very friendly! Small, but very affordable! Showers are 100 yen for 5 minutes (but this is plenty). Bathrooms are a bit cramped if you're tall (but so is the rest of Tokyo!). Overall I had a really nice stay!

Cozy place, kind staff, convenient area”
I really like this place. I booked the dorm bed for 2 nights but they offer me the private room instead (which I don't know why but really appreciate it). The private room is warm and cozy with Japanese style (sleep on the futon). This hostel located on good area. There are many supermarket around and just 20 minutes walk to Asakusa temple. At first I think it's quite far from subway but actually it's really near and convenient. Around this area is not noisy. The staffs are so kind and willing to help. But for the shower, you have to pay 100 Yen/ 5 minutes. All in all, I would like to stay this place again.

Absolutely wonderful experience. ”
i immediately felt at home when i entered the inn. it was my first hostel experience and i loved the sociable environment. i have never interacted so much with other guests and staff. i would give up the privacy of i western style hotel for the social aspect of a hostel any day. any question was answered and the free maps rule!

not worth your money”
Despite the apparently warm atmosphere of the common room, staying at Aizuya Inn wasn’t a pleasant experience. The second thing customers are welcomed with after a normal “Hello” is a polite but pretty strict “Please put your shoes in the cupboard” - cupboard that speeds a fragrance of deodorant mixed with feet smell in the room. The bad experience doesn’t stop here. In random order: - a deposit of 1000yen is required for the key - what for? Especially that you cannot return the key after 10pm or before 8am, so what about early planes and late nights out discovering the city? Refund can be done by Paypal, but that’s another thing you need to deal with, not them. - the common fridge seems to be cleaned every year - there is no tea in the room - but there is a TV, in case you want to rent a game console (because tea doesn’t make more money) - the location is somewhat far from interesting things to do in Asakusa - taking a shower will cost 100yen per 5 minutes - and it’s not your personal shower - renting a towel will cost 100yen - and it comes with extra hair form other customers, maybe explaining the cost? - nails coming out of the stairs threaten to stab your feet - because Aizyua doesn’t provide slippers (if they did, I guess they’d rent them!) and requires to leaves the shoes in the smelly cupboard. Most important point of the experience: Aizuya Inn makes you feel like an annoying guest in someone else’s house, but not really like a customer. If the above list appeals to you, staying at Aizuya Inn is recommended. Otherwise, run away - possibly closer to the dynamic part of Asakusa, where interesting things are.

normal”
You can walk to Asakusa. Although it takes about 30minutes... the room was good. not nice but enough to sleep. for size of the single room, about 2 girls might stay in one single room. you can use Wifi. They offered breakfast which is consisted of 2 loaf of bread and jam (delicious) and miso soup, orange juice. It's not fascinating but will make you feel refreshed. the staff was nice and gave me lots of maps and information.

It is an average hostel”
The Aizuya Inn is basically an hostel. It will not be bad if located in another part of the world but perform poorly if compared with some ryokan located nearby. The staff are not locals and they speak English but they are not very helpful. For example I had two bags and I had a room at the 2nd floor with not lift and the personnel did not help me out. They do not offer towels and you need to pay 100 Yen for a 5 minutes shower. Paying for a shower is something that I did not experience so far. It is not bad (for some reasons French speakers seem to be abundant there) but if you go in a Japanese runryokan you will get the real experience e better value for money.

Inexpensive, correct place to stay for a night”
Booked really last minute, were some problem with checking in, but managed at the end with the help of the boss. Room great and well air-conditioned: a blessing in summer! Cheap place compared to other accommodation in Tokyo.
