Nice and friendly”
Alona Grove isn't in the most ideal location in Alona but it is a close walk to the beach and restaurants. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

at first i was unsure, but once i looked around i found this is a great location and place to stay. most guest are foreigners there to enjoy the simple pleasures of alona beach. the staff was great. very friendly and treated us like family. a really great place to stay. simple, quiet, clean and safe. the room is basic and simple. the beach is down a small path less than a min away.

Nice, silent place close to the beach”
Very nice place where to stay if you wish relax or party on Alona Beach, but prefer to stay in silent place close to all attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful and rooms are clean and comfortable. Great value for money!

don't expect too much”
We hired a taxi from Tagbilaran port to Alona Grove Inn, and we paid 350 pesos. We arrived in the resort at 09:00pm & checked-out at 03:00am the next day (because of our bohol day tour). The resort staff was nice and we didn't have a problem checking out so early in the morning. We booked a standard air-con room, and we were given a room near to the reception area. The wifi was working fine from our room but you have to ask for the password first. The air-con was working fine, however, the shower and lavatory faucet were quite spoilt (but still working) and there's no hot water. There were only few channels in TV. The location was few minutes away from alona beach but in order to go to the beach, you'll need to cross small, narrow, rocky paths, and the street was very dark at night.But overall it was okay, we we're not expecting too much from this resort after all.. Toilet paper - Yes Towel - Yes Tooth paste & Tooth brush - No Shampoo & soap - No Iron - No Cockroach - Yes!

Simple but nice budget hotel”
it is a family-run budget hotel consisting of a handful of nice small cottages. the owner family lives in one of them. rooms are simple but adequate, providing everything that a budget traveller needs: a place to sleep, a veranda chair to relax while the kids watch tv (had to wait 2 hours in the morning for the rain to stop), ac in the afternoon heat, a shower when returning back from the beach. don't expect a 3 star service. i had to ask for linen and towels before i received them, and the water reservoir ran empty after three persons had a shower. but the staff is very friendly and provides every assistance. the location is very convenient. it's only a few steps to alona beach with its many restaurants and beach activities. we enjoyed our stay and will likely come back. all in all good value for money.

very friendly, good value”
Don't feel worried when you arrive by car and the driver ends up going down an unlit dirt road. It's just the back entrance away from the beach. To get to the beach be prepared for a narrow track past local shanties and stinky rubbish piles, but after 100m you're on magnificent Alona beach. We enjoyed being at the far end of the beach a as you can stroll past all restaurants etc. Really good value place but in hindsight might have wanted somewhere with a pool.

We took 1 family room and added 1 standard room since our group was quite large ( 8 people!) the standard room is much better than the family room. I believe they should improve their family room. Although it is spacious for the 5 of us, they should repair the floor...because every time someone walks around, you will be awaken because it moves. You can feel the floor bouncing... Water tastes a little salty but this is common in panglao area. Ambiance is great and cozy. However, the path to the beach is dangerous especially if you have children or elderly with you.... The place is also near the beach restaurants so you will never go hungry... Great and relaxing beach night - out while dining in a seafood restaurant with acoustics playing in the background...

the stay was really nice but the management needs to clean the water system. the place was nice and quiet. They need to replace the sign on the highway, they have to make it bigger for the guests to see. In addition, they have to fix the road going inside the tourist inn. The overall stay was ok.

Good Value for Money”
Very near the beach. Simple and confortable. Hope the acess from the beach can be improved. With Cable Tv and the wifi didn t work in the room. They provided me a nice tour around the island for a decent price. Friendly staff always with a smile and ready to help

The path going to Alona Grove Inn is not smooth. No hot and cold shower. The walkway going to the beach is very dirty.

I stayed for 2 nights when i went scuba diving. The room was okay. big bed for a petite woman like me. Clean. Nice small balcony. Friendly staff. Fast check in and check out. Cable TV was not clear. The way to the Inn was dark and muddy. No amenities. Have to bring yr own stuff.

Awesome, cheap place near the beach”
Don't be fooled by the guy ranting away about not finding this place etc. There is indeed no sign showing you where to go, but since everyone has google maps today or is able to ask one of the many locals at the beach will quickly find this small oasis. They offer, for being situated just a minute walk from the beach, cheap and clean bungalows with chairs and a table in front of them plus some lawn and palms in the admittedly quite small garden. The only thing that could really be improved is the Amal alley leading to the beach - it's littered with garbage and doesn't smell very nice either. anyway, not a real problem since its max 200 m were talking about. Quiet and cozy place for those on a budget who want to be near the beach and away from the noisy and unpleasant main road. Highly recommended!

Cheap rooms close to the beach”
Good place if you'rr only staying for a shirt while. Close to the beach although the tiny dirttrack to the beach is littered with rubbish. A/C is pretty noisy at night, even at low setting. The manager was able to find good new scooters to rent for a decent price.

it would be better if room service is available especially at night because the path from hotel to restaurants is so dark and not cemented. Hot shower is not available but in case affordability is your priority, this inn is recommendable.

long walk from the hotel to Alona beach (about 2-3 minutes walk.), and creepy location at night (because it's too dark no enough light for you to see clearly the path that your walking through.

Basic hotel”
Overall this was a basic hotel. It was clean, but a little tired looking. The route to the beach is down a dark passage at night, but is quick. They shut the gates after 10pm so you have to shout to the guard to be let in. We visited over the Xmas period when prices go up, but felt that this place was overpriced for what you got.

The room is nice and quiet. If you are with an elderly though, as i was when i went there, its quite a walk because there are several steps down before reaching the beach. But if you are able, then its ok.
