Guest House Umikaji is conveniently located near the Prefecture Monorial Station, RyuBo Shopping Centre and Kokusai Street. Monorail ticket is Yen 260 from Naha Airport, only seven stations away. Suggest check-in time to bring forward to 2pm from current 3pm. Otherwise, Guests can stay/rest in the reception lounge/dining room, surf internet on the two internet terminals or read the story books and sight seeing materials provided. On the whole, a clean and comfortable place to stay while on holiday in Okinawa. I will stay again!

I will be back. I booked the 8 bed female dorm. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Everyone was respectful of noise, but it can get a bit noisy early in the morning when people are getting ready. Bring your own towel unless you want to pay. I liked the fact that they had bathtub rental. Very close to monorail and Kokusai street and a few bus stops.

Perfect for early morning flight”
I had to catch an early morning flight so I slept for several hours here. The staff were friendly and the facility was clean! I stayed on the female only floor, it was securely locked and had their own bathroom, shower, laundry room on this female only floor. Because there’s no airport hotel at the moment, this is the next best place to rest between flights or before early flight.

Perfect stay at a very center location”
Staff are very welcoming. Rooms and bed are nice and spacious. I stayed in female dorm for 2 nights, they did the cleaning everyday. Shared bathrooms are also clean. Location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from monorail. I would love to stay here again for my next Okinawa trip :)

Second stay in this property and will stay again”
The location is a stone throw away from Prefecture Government Office Monorail Station. It is about 15 mins ride from Naha Airport. Close to RyuBo departmental store, KFC, MOS burger and supermarket. About 4-5 mins walk to Kokusai Street. Witnessed some nice upgrades in the property as compared with my first stay in April 2019. Perhaps the free WiFi can be improved further on coverage and speed. Will choose Umikaji again when I come back to Okinawa.

Seems standard checkin in Japan is 15:00/3:00om. Sucks arrival in early am. Apparently coordinated effort to clean and clear for guest checkin is too complicated?? Otherwise all was great. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers for over 40+ persons is enough as I had no problem but can’t imagine if need arises for urgent need???

Great location, clean and cheap”
I stayed in girl’s dorm at 4F. Advantages: 1. Clean room and bathroom (no smoke smell, no bug, indoor slippery only) 2. Great location for backpacker - so close to rail, shopping street and bus stops. 3. Price is attractive 4. dorm with privacy - dark curtain to block sight and light. Disadvantage: 1. Shower temp. unstable-but at least they have hot water 2. Noise- fire truck or police cars drive with alarm on drives by often at night. And I can hear girls next door talking through wall. Overall, it is a nice place to stay. I like it.

good place to stay”
I booked just for one night there but I already booked more nights for later because the place is good. Even if it's a cheap guesthouse, my bed was comfortable and clean. I slept well. The staff seems to be cool (just one night so I can't really tell) and the common spaces are nice. The living room are some equipment for cooking, tea, coffee.. and a space with many books and manga.. It was cheap and really good so I recommend it.

I stayed during COVID so not sure if the bed is the same cost during 'normal' times but it was a steal! The rooms are large and comfortable, did not feel crowded in the slightest. Very clean in all areas of the hostel. Great location, super close to a train stop which will get you to and from the airport and other areas very easily. Only downside was carrying the luggage up the stair cases, but no big deal really. 100% Recommend that you stay here.

Near Yui Line, Luggage Storage Facility”
Good location that is near the Yui line and staff was also friendly. They even have storage facility (200yen/ per day). It was good for me because I went to Ishigaki for 2 days but did not intend to bring my luggage there, so left it with Umikaji.

Do bring earplugs as the walls are very thin and your roommates might be noisy. Overall, great for the budget-conscious solo traveler! Would definitely stay again.

Location is very good and convenient”
It is located near to the Kenchomae station, just next to the station and takes 3 minutes walk. It is also near to naha-hohusaidor, the famous shopping street and the big shopping mall. There are also bus stops nearby. The bedroom and shower room are clean. I am not sure if I do not know how to use the shower, sometimes there is not enough hot water.
