Remarkable experience”
Fantasea provided us with a very nice gentleman as our guide who had thorough knowledge about Halong Bay and its attraction. No complains about the ship. I would say it is above average. Food is great as well and we are always well fed. The staff provides activities which are worth doing but not forceful when one of the passenger chose to stay on the ship to recuperate. I would highly recommend this tour. Do at least an overnight one. I hope to bring my family to halong by someday and I would still use Fantasea. Ü

Really worth for everything, not so crowded which can enjoying the pretty Halong bay view, thumbs up”
Tuan Nah who is the one who picked us up from Hanoi old quarter to Halong bay and we follow his guide for 2 days 1 night at the cruise.. well organized... stable cruise which you will not feel uncomfortable during sleeping night time. Nice foods are served. Worth of money for this cruise... 100% recommended

Amazing Halong Bay”
I thought the cruise is really value for your money. When I booked Halong Fantasea Cruise, it was one of the most affordable cruises offered. But when you get to Halong Bay, all junks that cruised in the area were all the same including those that were priced higher. It very convenient because they provided shuttle service to and from Halong-Hanoi. The food they served is not bad at all and there's enough for everyone.

Really perfect choice for the price”
We had heard horror stories about choosing a bad Halong Bay cruise and so chose this mid-range option. It was absolutely perfect for the price - the cabins were clean and bright, nothing dirty or sketchy about anything on the boat, the activities were great, the food was fine. If you spend more money you may get fancier cabins, food or top deck but frankly I don't think its worth it if you're a budget traveler because Halong Bay is the big attraction and you'll see it from any boat you use. This is a really nice option. Ba was our tour guide and was very kind and enthusiastic about the area. Princes of alcohol and other drinks were too expensive for Vietnam. Bring your own water. Also, they said there was wifi but it didn't work all weekend. This was fine, we were too busy to check the internet, but they shouldn't advertise wifi.

Pleasant and better than we expected”
Overall very good. We had heard many bad things about Halong Bay but we're pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are many boats and tourists but its still beautiful and all part of the experience. Fantasea was a good choice, the food was a highlight-- very tasty and more than enough to eat. Our boats engine wasn't working so we were attached to another boat the entire time, which was a little odd but didn't change our experience except that instead of an ocean view we saw another boat.

Great food and views, but not really 'all inclusive'”
Typical tourism commerce. On the way from Hanoi they take you to (boring and overpriced) souvenir centre, then you board on quite used vessel. Cruise where everyone cruises, kayaking doesn't leave a taste of adventure. The staff try their honest best and the food is tasty and plenty of. The rooms and facilities used to be luxurious, but some years have already passed. Staring at night on squids in the water was fun, hunting for cockroaches in the room was not. The offer says 'all inclusive', but drinks are not. No WiFi, btw. A sad conclusion is that touristic cruising kicked out local community of fisherman. Feel responsible for that. We paid approx 175 USD / 2 pers - there could be a better way to spend it. But if you're decided on a cruise across Ha Long bay, the Fantasea is a good, budget option.

Awesome food, staff, activities, sightseeing”
We were so pleased with our choice. The food was the best we had during our 3 week stay in Vietnam. It was fresh with plenty of choices and changed with each meal. Drinks were reasonably priced, $1.50 USD for a can of soft drink. Activities included climbing through the cave, sightseeing, swimming at a beach and kayaking through a cave into a grotto. We saw families of monkeys up close at both the beach and in the grotto. The scenery makes this a must do in Vietnam. The cabins were not huge, but clean, wood lined, and if you go round the opposite side of the boat to your cabin door, you can slide the wooden shutters open for your room and enjoy the scenery and breeze from your beds. For the price we paid, this cruise was outstanding. FYI, you do get lunch on-board the second day before you head back to shore. The only negative was the day we were there, rubbish was being blown towards the beach we stopped for a swim at. We were told this happens sometimes when the wind blows a certain way. Great value for money cruise.

good mid-range cruise”
i was told there were 700 cruises on halong bay. its impossible to choose "the right one". Based on my one experience this is a good cruise. Small boat with 8 rooms only, not too many people and crowded as in other cruise. Old boat, not in excellent condition but everything works well. I was traveling solo so im not looking for super posh cruise. Honeymooner might want to spend more for 5 star boats. Menu on board is just okay. Main Itinerary: Titop mountain, kayak, Surprise cave. Other company might offer different iti, incl. fishing village, local wooden boat through cave, etc Pick up from hotel in old quarter. Need to walk a bit as the bus cant get into/ stop at the smaller road of where the hostel is. Transfer to halong is uncomfortable. Bus is small with ridiculous leg space. Transfer back to Hanoi is the same, they will drop you at the most convenient junction, need to walk a bit (its not their fault tho, the roads at old town is really crowded with traffic. Just a heads up)

good facilities”
the food served were very good, facilities in the room were satisfying. But you have to be very careful when getting onboard, because sometimes there will be many cruises embark at the same location, your cruise might stop far from the pier and you might need to hop from one boat to the other boats to get on your cruise. lucky me, i got help from another guest to pull me up onboard, not a very convenience and safety way to get on the board.

Very good”
The service is five-star. Our guide is very thoughtful and helpful. The downside is that the room and boat is not as big as shown in the photo. I got a room next to the engine room so got to put up with the noise all night long. If you are very sensitive to noise, better ask about which room you’ll get. Overall the cruise is fine , it’s just if you’ve been to islands of Philippines then maybe don’t need to bother coming to Ha long bay.

Pleasant. Value for money. ”
Nice view of the Halong Bay though the room is a little small and without windows - otherwise would be a perfect stay as I requested one. May come back again in the future and explore other places/islands nearby :) thank you Fantasea team for a memorable first time at Halong Bay!

Inexpensive and good services”
Pros: 1) The price is comparatively low compared with other cruises. Lower price doesn't mean poorer services. 2) The tourist guide is in good manner, well experienced and houmous. 3) Excellent arrangement on activities. Keeping guests busy and joy during the trip. Especially enjoy the adventure to a secret cave in the second day morning (But it's introduced by the guide and not a standard activity of the package.) Cons: 1) The facilities are not in good condition. Getting old and broken. 2) The shower room is poor designed that it'll totally get everything wet after each showering. The floor is full of water and nothing to dry it up. 3) Inadequate power plug in the room. Only one was found. Inconvenient to recharge the mobile phone.

Well run cruise”
We spent two nights on board the Fantasea Adventures Cruise. The staff and food were superb. The boat had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Value for money”
We bought a trip for less than USD100/pax and it is totally worth the money. We had full inclusive tour including hiking, visiting the cave and kayaking. Excellent staff, ‘banana’ was our tour guide, excellent food and choices of servings. Only the room is a bit tight. Will definitely recommend the cruise to others.

A good midrange tour”
This was a good midrange choice. No luxury, but a decent one. We met some great people there, the views were outstanding and the food was nice. If you are trying to decide if you need to go to Ha long - yes, GO there! How much to pay? If you are on a VERY tight budget - go for a one day tour for as cheap as you can get. Just to see the place. If you have about 50-70 $ to spent for a person - it means you are over the minimal backpackers budget. It will not harm you too use about 100$ per person. Go for a midrange tour 2 days 1 night. You will not regret. More money and more time? Go for 3 days 2 nights, but don't go below the midrange price. Need lux? Pay over 200/pax for night and over. You will get the same views. And a better ship.

Great trip varied activities”
We stayed two days one night and crammed in a lot of things. We went to Caves, a beach, a hike up a mountain a Kayak experience, a cookery class and a terrific cruise around Halong Bay as filmed in James Bond's 'Tomorrow Never Dies' (Carvers boat in South China Seas). Couldn't have asked for more.

No frills but still good!”
I took the 2D1N package & this included the Hanoi/Halong/Hanoi transfers, a single cabin, all meals on board (lunch/dinner/breakfast/lunch), visits to Ti Top island & Sung Sot Cave & kayaking. This is a mid-range cruise and overall, it was great in that you get what you pay for.

Average cruise”
It is stated in the confirmation email that travellers have to send personal details to Fantasea but I have never received any reply from them about information of pick-up point and itinerary. When we arrived at the port, the boat is not Fantasea. The room is very small with no extra space to put our belongings... Not enough hot water for shower... But staff is very helpful.
