Perfect location for a weekend getaway”
Our stag at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead was very comfortable from beginning to end. There was a slight problem with the booking when checking in (the records only showed us having booked for one night instead of two which we had paid for) but this was resolved with any issue and very professionally and most of all it did not cause us any inconvenience. The hotel is in a very good location. The rooms are spacious and well equipped although the air conditioning is set to a very cool temparature which we were unable to increase. There was one slight issue with the bathroom which was resolved very swiftly in 20 minutes. Overall very good hotel, good breakfast and good service - would stay here again.

Hilton-Newcastle”
Best hotel at newcastle with a good business center -good rooms and nice service location is excellent also-staff friendly and helpful food especially thai etc are not up to the mark and can be improved upon tremendously considering its a hilton chain. location is fantastic overlooking tyne river and the beautiful bridge-ask for the river view if possible overall recommend this hotel as its the best in newcastle.

Typical HIlton that does not go the extra mile”
This Hilton had clean and comfortable rooms, as befits the Hilton name. It was disappointing in getting careless service and unwilling to go the extra mile. I specifically requested a quiet room away from lifts - but was given, a room in front of the lifts and had a balcony that allowed more noise to come in. The room was close to the Newcastle Bridge and could hear the constant traffic. The temperature in the room could not be adjusted to be warm enough so it was cold all night. After a long day of work and travel, I could not be bothered to go back to argue my case with reception and having stayed at this hotel several times previously I would hope they had my details on file. I wont be going back as there are plenty of other Newcastle hotels of which I have been recommended and there is no need to stay at the Hilton.

great rooms with fantastic views”
Booked two rooms for myself husband, son and his fiancee could not believe they gave us fifth floor executive rooms with balconies overlooking the tyne bridge and river along with admission to the executive lounge with free alcholic drinks and snacks before we went out to the evening wedding night at the Sage just over the road. Booked the breakfast on arrival at discounted rate of was not disappointed. Don't like paying for car parking when staying at a hotel but will forgive them for the fabulous rooms.

Great Hotel to explore Newcastle City ”
This was a short break for my wife and I and hotel was in an ideal location to explore Newecastle from. Paid slightly more for business room and well worth the money. Access to business lounge for happy hours was a pleasnt way to set you up for the evening (though was quiet busy so do get their sharpish for the best seats). Room was of a high standard with great firm bed (which my wife and I prefer!) Only had breakfast in hotel but this was of good quality and high standard, which is to be expected from a Hilton hotel. Only negative side is that hotel is located on a hill which if you have problems walking could be quite a challenge to get down and up! On positive just over bridge from bustling Quayside so noise was not an issue late at night. Overal had a great weekend and would certainly stay again.

Hilton Hotel-Newcastle/Gateshead”
The hotel was well-priced bearing in mind its close proximity to the city centre, which is well within walking distance. The lobby area is "minimalistic" and somewhat "antiseptic". The rooms are good and I had an excellent view of the Tyne and Swing briges. The breakfast was very reasonably priced if using the £3 discount via the coupon obtained at Reception. The breakfast itself was standard "greasy spoon". The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. I would certainly stay there again.

Fantastic hotel with super friendly staff”
we booked this hotel for our first night away together in 3.5 years since the borth of our two children. it couldn't have been more perfect. on check-in we were upgraded free of charge to an executive room and we were provided with wine and strawberries. the hotel is very smart and modern and has superb views over the tyne. the room was modern and clean and very spacious and the facilities included were great. we didn't use the leisure facilities but they looked smart. the breakfast buffet was fantasic, everything you cold possibly want - the only downside (and a very small one) was that it was very busy and we had to wait a while to be seated. all-in-all it was a superb hotel, great facilities, great location and fantastic staff

Good Location with nice bar”
Service staff were exceptional and nothing short of up keeping the Hilton brand name. breakfast spread was great and internet access was available throughout the hotel. meeting rooms within the hotel were well equipped and accommodation rooms were large and comfortable. a plus is that most rooms have a nice view of the river.

Nice well kept hotel, good location”
Stayed for 1 night on business in October 2012. Hotel is located right on the tyne with half of the rooms having a great view out over the river. Breakfast buffet very good - standard food. Had some drinks and food in the evening which were also very good. Modern rooms with good facilities. Overall nice hotel and not too expensive if booked early.

Good location. Rooms basic. Great breakfast ”
Rooms are basic but locarion is great. Breakfast and bar restaurant great. Malmaison is also a good choice both equal distance to the best parts of newcastle quayside. I would choose which one based on the best price offer

Nice people, nice city and a good hotel”
Would prefer if there would be 24 hours menu for food as generally people travelling in from London end up reaching Newcastle a bit late in the night and then it is difficult if you are hungry.

Expect to pay for a room with a view”
checked in and my voucher did not say that breakfast was included so i had to pay- not a great start but that's agoda and not the hotel for you! then i asked if the room had a river view and surprise, surprise they said it didn't! not a great start, so i paid a tenner for the privilege even tho it had spare rooms...not that is the hilton ripping people off. enough moaning-the views are stunning. coffee at breakfast was far better than most hotels and that sold a possible return to me

Wonderful welcome, great location, lovely room.”
on arrival was greeted like a long lost friend, a small boking confusion was resolved instantly, given an upgraded room andlots of information about the hotel. the room was delightful with a river view through floor to ceiling window, excellently furnished and very comfortable. bar prices were (to me) a little high. used the pool/sauna/steam room. pool is small and with 6 people swimming is crowded.

Typical Hilton”
typical hilton. the room, soap and shampoo are in the price but everything else is charged at top rate. i was a bit surprised at the condition of the room in such a new hotel. the panel behind the toilet was loose and banged everytime you sat on the toilet or put anything on it. there was a brown mark on the ceiling as if there had been a leak. the room could have been cleaner. a long black hair in the sink was not expected. however the staff were pleasant courteous and helpful.
