Budget hotel handy for DLR 25mins from main attractions”
The hotel is being updated so some rooms have modern bathrooms & tv - others don't . Some corridors also have workmen/builders working from 8am currenrly. However, the rooms are clean, and have all the essentials usually expected. The locarion againsr ExCel exhibition centre and custom house station makes it a handy place to stay (although most of the London tourist attractions are 20- 25mins away.) Staff are helpful & rooms pretty quiet. There's a range of breakfast foods available from a self service buffet (but the cooked English breakfast was a bit limited i.e. bacon, sausage, beans, hashbrowns & scrambled eggs which were v well cooked! - I would have liked tomato/ mushroom/fried egg occasionally) however there was fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast & croissants available too. Overall a great base at an affordable price.

If you want to pay less but good service & good environment with your family, I strongly recommend staying here. Just buy a One Day Pass transportation ticket, you can go anywhere you want to go to London urban area less than 30 minutes & only two stops to London City Airport.

In front train station ”
Having a train station within short walking distance is a big plus for me. The b/f selection is good though it is the same everyday. At peak times, difficulty finding seats. The hotel is undergoing renovation - some inconvenience expected.

Very near train station, heater in rooms, good quality showers, instant coffee and tea at lobby, good selection at breakfast. Always crowded at breakfast and not so friendly reception.

Afforable but Small Stardart Rooms wit tiny showers”
I would stay here again, but much preferred the IBIS Docklands and Novotel hotels on the other side of the DRL station west of the ExCel Centre. Novotel being so much nicer of the 3 places but worth the money for the fantastic rooms plus dining facility. The bigger Studio Apartments here at the IBIS Styles on the 5th floor are nice, that I would come back for. But the standard rooms with their tiny showers, I didn't like at all.

Show-going family trip”
We booked the hotel based on our need to easily get to and from the O2 Arena on the last night of our stay in England, before flying out from Heathrow the next night. Works on the DLR compromised accessibility somewhat - the line wasn't running over the weekend of our stay, and there are pedestrian diversions in place to get from the station to the hotel through alleys that we would hesitate to enter alone at night. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of our room - 2 single beds, 1 queen with privacy screens between, lounge area and kitchenette plus large shower (no bath). Spacious compared to other places with similar room types. Updated soft furnishings and decor, which you wouldn't expect from first appearances. Plenty of room to repack large bags, and my teenage sons were pleased with Sky TV access which had been unavailable at all other properties we stayed in, including some with higher ratings. The construction work on the DLR continued overnight on Sunday night which disturbed us more than would be usual at this location. We traveled to the O2 Arena via the Emirates Airline, an easy walk from the hotel, and returned via Tube and connector bus. Breakfast was pleasant and on par with other properties, and we enjoyed an early dinner in the pub attached to the hotel. There is plenty of luggage storage which enabled us to leave our large bags and enjoy some last minute sightseeing before departing for the airport. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. We would recommend this hotel to families who would rather not book two rooms. If staying more than one night you could manage a little self catering in this room.

Great Location for London Excel Events”
I enjoyed my stay at Ibis Styles as it met with my needs for that part of the journey - it was extremely close to London Excel and easy to get to from transit with the DLR station across the street. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area especially if they are attending events.

This hotel is ideally located next to transport...bus and rail. The free breakfast is a good start each day as the food in London is very expensive, especially with the exchange rates.

Borderline youth hostel”
Needed somewhere inexpensive to stay as canary wharf hotels were extortionate at short notice. I've stayed in ibis Hong Kong many times and was disappointed this hotel was not even close to the same quality: old man pub downstairs, construction everywhere, room was cramped (bed went under desk so you couldn't work there), wifi didn't work in the room, bathroom was a windowless closet and bed/towels/etc as cheap as they come, place smelled like a warehouse. never stay again Check in guy was very very nice. Proximity to the eastern airports and 02 make the only plus points.

The stay was sufficient for my purposes of visiting Excel Exhibition Centre. It was unfortunate the DLR bridge next to the hotel was closed so we had to walk a long way to get to the Excel centre instead of crossing over the bridge outside the hotel.
