And a new chef is running Mezza's now. And what an excellent change this is. The food now actually has flavour and taste and is cooked in a reasonable amount of time from ordering. The last chef (and I use this term loosely) was, well......., useless. Obviously his taste buds where left in a jar by his bed and understanding of time management didn't even register on the intelligence level..... The new chef has made changes to the menu and is offering more to choose from and everything we ordered over the 2 nights stay was 'in stock/available'. The last culinary misfit obviously didn't know how to order/purchase food and 25-30% of the menu choices were 'not available/out-of-stock'. How the heck you don't have the ingredients to make French toast is beyond my understanding, but I did order this once, and, yeah, out-of-stock........ huh? TL;DR - Great food again! New chef, new menu and of excellent quality.

Good value for money, no frills, accomodation. Central area accessible to banks, food, drugstore and everything else. If you’re looking for a place to stay for a day or two, this is great. Only about 15mins from the airport and they offer free airport transfers

Good but could have been better”
The place is neat. The room itself is clean and organized. Housekeeping team is great but sometimes tends to forget to leave room rag and towels. It takes a couple of calls at the front desk before someone answers. Food orders at the restaurant are not being delivered on your room so you’ll have to go down despite of calling to order. Most importantly, you’ll experience series of power interruption. We stayed for 6 days and there had been power interruption everyday.

Very clean room with nice cable tv and free breakfast. Conveniently in the center of the city. The only negative is that the room gets baked by the sun during the day so don't expect to be comfortable between noon and 5 pm. The power works only when you insert your room card key in a slot inside the room so it will take more than an hour to lower the room temp after you return from outside activities.

Nice if you like cold showers”
If you don't mind cold showers, then this is the place for you (unless you get up at about 5:30am, then'll you'll have some warm water). Not sure what type of water heating system they use, but I think it's not much more powerful than some holding a cigarette lighter on the water pipe. Maybe someone needs to tell management (or the owners) that they should step into the 21st century and install 'on demand' systems in the rooms. This will save current and therefore make a better profit margin. But having said that, the hot water service is up there with their 'free' wifi. In-house wifi is WAY slower than normal cell phone data, and having a seminar group when I was there, you can be sure to have NO wifi as they all tap into the 'free' wifi and leave the paying customer with nothing. Still stand on the excellent location though, this establishment is central to whereever you need to go in Tuguegarao, and very friendly and helpful staff.

New Chef = Useless!! Eat elsewhere!!”
This is nearly my second home in the Philippines as I need to travel to Tuguegarao every 2 months for my visa extension. The place itself, and hotel staff, are of an excellent quality however they are let down by the 'Chef' (and I use the term very, very, lightly) who has no idea that an entree should be out within 10-15 minutes, not 60+.... We gave up waiting for our meal and headed back to our room where dinner finally arrived after 75 minutes (from ordering), and as it turned out the meal itself was mostly tasteless as I have a strange feeling that the 'Chef' has no idea what salt actually is and when to use it. The 'fresh' vegetables are of the 'fresh frozen' variety and come straight out of a packet and are nearly 100% cooked (from frozen - couldn't even get that right). My advice is, if you are hungry AVOID MEZZA'S, it is worst 'eatery' in Tuguegarao! But if you need a central place to stay, then come to Mango Suites, as it is central to everything.

Overall, an OK stay”
We stayed here for 3 nights, two of which was booked thru Agoda and one directly booked in the hotel. The room where we stayed is spacious. It was a bit difficult to sleep though if you get used to sleeping in a quiet environment. You would hear the noise from the outside like those tricycle passing by the street. The one bedside lamp is also not working. The toilet sink pipe is broken so water was flowing to the floor. There was no towel in the room when we checked in so had to call the reception for it. The free breakfast is good. The food in Mezza restaurant is overall good and affordable. The staffs were helpful and kind enough to address the issues we had.

Pros: accommodating staffs. Strategic location Cons: noises from hallway and outside can be heard loudly from the inside if the room. More than half of the cabinet in the room assigned to us was occupied by a wall or post. Main door has gap and can see people passing by the room.

The hotel is clean but fixtures are old and not maintained. Our bathroom shower was clogged. I called maintenance and it was still not fixed. Tv was very old the picture and sound was not clear. We booked 3 rooms.
