Comfortable stay for climbing Mount Fuji”
The owner speaks just a tiny bit of English but no problem. The room was clean and the onsen was hot. It's a bit of a hike from the station but after climbing Fuji, you won't even break a sweat. It's great to soak in the onsen after your hike and it's easy to walk to the lake and find nearby restaurants. We tried to ask about eating dinner at the minshuku but couldn't communicate effectively so we walked down the road to the tempura restaurant which was quite yummy. I'm sure the food there would be delicious but we didn't get the chance to indulge. Other than that, the rooms do have thin walls and all guests are on the same floor, so be sure to bring your earplugs. Definitely would stay here again.

Traditional ryokan with a view of Mt. Fuji”
I enjoyed my time at Maruyaso. I think the location is nice because it's halfway between the station and the lake, so it's a nice 15min walk each way. They give you a lift to the station every morning, which is nice. The room was comfy and clean with a nice view of the Fuji. The onsen area could be a bit cleaner but I understand old houses are hard to maintain so it's fine. I will be back if I visit again :)

Highly Recommended”
Mommy is so accommodating! I was able to check in at 9AM with no additional charge! When you go out Mt. Fuji will greet you! There are convenience stores near the area, supermarket, department store and restaurants as well. And the onsen was a great experience as well! I Definitely recommending this place!🤗

Value for Money”
Location is far from station but you can request tourist information to call to the Ryokan and they will pick you to the ryokan. Japanese Room condition is old but facing with Fuji hill view. Self to put the matress because it is old style Japanese Room. The onsen is good just a bit old in the inside. This couple serve a good dinner and breakfast. With the price I paid - I think is worth.

Nice host and relaxing place to stay”
Nice place to stay for relaxing in Japanese atmosphere. Host is so kind and help us everything she can. Location is not far from bus stop. Good onsen like home.

Convenient location and good price.”
i didn't really know what to expect from a traditional japanese hotel and onsen as this was our first trip to japan. the little lady that we dealt with (i assume she was the owner) was very friendly and always smiling even though we had no idea what each other were saying. she spoke no english, but was quite helpful and very friendly. i booked our room very late and this was what was left without spending a fortune. i realized later that it was japanese holidays and everyone was traveling the same time we were. overall, it was ok value for the circumstances, but given a choice, i wouldnt stay in a japanese "traditional" style room again.

Awesome view on Mount Fuji ”
A bit far from the station, but the owner very gracefully offered the ride back. Room furniture is basic, kind of what you would expect from the price. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. And most importantly, the view on Mount Fuji when you are waking up is just unbelievable! They also offer bike rental which is very convenient for visiting the lakes nearby.

Dirty bathroom, dirty basin and corridor”
this place is run by a nice friendly old lady, but the place is just filthy, dust every in common area. the basin is filled with grime. i couldn't stand iit and i used a scouring pad to scour the basin on 2nd floor but still quite a bit of grime left. the bathroom smells funky. the hot spring pool looked dark and dirty, didn't want to get in there. Room is clean that's the good point, the view is great, mt fuji is right at the window. note: this is a traditional japanese ryokan-ish place, the bathroom is open, like the standard onsen.

Fuji view just outside the window of my room”
It is not really close to train station, but if you have purchased the 1 day sightseeing bus ticket, that will be easy to get there and very close to the bus station. The view of Fuji outside my room is amazing. Highly recommend !

Great view of Mt. Fuji”
It was a fine place to stay for one night. The accommodations were average and it was nice to have access to an onsen. Our room also had a fantastic view of Mt. Fuji.

Quite a distance by walking (about 20mins) from Kawaguchiko station. Not difficult to find. ”
It's a very old & traditional ryokan style stay. Things & facilities are a bit run down. Communication with the host (a very elderly lady) is a problem - no English speaking. Plus point is they do have onsen (no very clean though) & you wake up to Mt Fuji every morning! Read from past reviews, traditional breakfast was provided but non was given when we were there... Only few biscuits & sweets sent daily.

very local Japanese Style hotel”
Location is far form the main bus stop but there are some restaurants and supermarket nearby. The host lady doesn't understand and speak english but she is very nice and we could still communicate. the room is small and without individual toilet. And he facilities were a bit dirty. the hotel rooms are facing Fujisan, so you can see the Fujisan if the sky is clear.

Cozy Ryo-kan in town”
The owner, lady is very nice even though she can speak very little English. The room is a bit small. Food (Dinner + Breakfast = Yen 2,000) is very nice, recommended. Hotel also have on-zen separately for man and women.

Cosy place to feel like Japanese home”
(+) comfy budget japanese ryukan with a very friendly owner. She cannot speak english but will understand your request and will be helpful. (+) Location is excellent. I can see Mt.Fuji from my room. Also not far from a red loop bus stop with a big super market and a few restaurants in a walking distance. (+) Breakfast was great value for money. (-) Wall type heater did not reach the floor where our futons were. I needed to sleep with sweather, socks, and winter hat on. (We went there in winter during new year) (-) Facility was quite rundown And not very clean. My futon has a suspicious hair on it. There is also no big towel.
