An amazing hotel, rooms are beautifully designed and equipped for your stay. The bar with a dj is very welcoming. And the restaurant is outstanding, breakfast in the morning was exceptional and the staff were very friendly and would do anything to help. Definitely be coming...looking for Christmas time.

What can I say, hotel, staff and location all great. Drinks in Refuge are most definitely worth a visit! Room was really lovely, air conditioning worked ( visiting in a heatwave it’s essential) room well kitted out. Our only complaint is our room (207) had a connecting door to the room next door and the other guests staying there could be heard talking so clearly, which isn’t their fault but at midnight and 6.45am wasn’t appreciated. Overall it hasn’t put us off and we would definitely return soon

Great location , very friendly staff and big rooms. Make sure you book the restaurant in the hotel for the evening early as it gets very busy but there are plenty of places nearby to eat at as well. Breakfast is plentiful and well organised with a great selection. Will definitely visit again

This hotel is stunning all the way through, the building steeps in history and is so grand. The breakfast in the morning was out of this world, so much to choose from, buffet style hot and cold, also a menu you can pick off to have something special at no extra charge.

Classy hotel right next to the Oxford Road station”
Principal is one of the iconic building in Manchester, the interior design is comfy and classy. The breakfast is a buffet type and the variety is good. The room is modern and the ceiling is super high in my room. The location is very nice, it is just opposite to the Oxford road train station which you can connect to the Manchester airport. But if you consider the only shopping mall in Manchester City, "Arndale", is the Centre centre, then this hotel is a little bit far from there, but as Manchester downtown is not so big, it is still in a walkable distance of around 15-20 minutes. If you are a visitor of the University of Manchester, it is a good choice as it locates at the same road, Oxford road, of the university. Supermarkets such as TESCO and Sainsbury, mcdonalds, pizza express, Caffe Nero are available in 1-3 minutes walking distance. 10 minutes to the National express bus station where you can connect to many other cities of UK.

This hotel is in a prime location, and is lovely and grand. Got a good deal on the room which was very very nice (apart from the view as the room was an “inside” facing room which was not explained when booking, and you’d expect at least a street view when paying a bit more for a superior, however when you stay in Manchester you’re not coming for the view). Didnt sample the food but the gin was great!

So worth to stay there”
Room is so big, very clean, facilities are good enough and the price is worth. Services are good with helpful staff, they recommend you where to visit and provide information to you. Location is very close to Old Oxford station and 2 of free shuttle bus from Manchester station (Green and Orange line). Absolutely will come back again and highly recommend to stay here. So regret that we are only stayed there one night only.

Lovely setting...central location...good facilities”
So I was there for 3 days...breakfast spread was decent (quite standard fair)...good gym facilities (did my usual treadmill and cross trainer with some weights)..now you should be aware kf the rooms...there are some, like mine, where i needed to climb a small narrow flight of stairs to access my room. if you have heavy luggage, you will struggle. but its a nice cosy loft setting except angle of the television is a bit odd. shower rooms are large but i would have appreciated more hooks foe hanging stuff. overall, it was a good stay though. do consider if you will be in Manchester.

what a gorgeous hotel! You can easily get lost through the halls because it's so huge but you really wouldn't mind because the decor is amazing! We got a fantastic deal, saving a couple of hundred pounds which was fab! The staff were exceptional, we arrived early so couldn't check in yet and the lady at reception seeing we were suited and booted for a wedding offered to have our bags taken up so that we could head off. When we returned to check in (a little worse for wear) the lovely security directed us to reception, the gent on reception gave us really good (and simple) directions to our room and we felt really looked after.! Our room was beautiful, it felt really grand with an extra high ceiling and a bed which could fit me (5ft 10) and my husband (6ft5) starfishing and still room between us-and it was extremely comfortable! I don't mind that our room was on a busy road (and i could hear revellers on the friday night), as i sleep through anything but if youre a light sleeper i would recommend requesting a quieter room. we didnt get to sample the bar/restaurant which is a shame as the bar was the main reason we booked (we were just to tired to fancy a drink) but were returning in January and cannot wait! i have no idea why this isnt a 5 star hotel! it certainly felt like one.
