Exceptional”
We were very happy with our stay. Room was very clean. Great service, very friendly and helpful staff. Bus stop directly infront of the guest house. Walking distance into city centre around 25-35min. Bus around 10-15min. The only thing we think that could be improved is to offer breakfast. But we knew that this wasn't included in the stay. Supermarkets and Cafes in walking distance (between 10 and 15min).

Cleanliness and value of money”
PROS : location is good CONS: Room were not well equipmented , cleaning issue and rates are not reasonable as i paid 30% more than the price i saw at the time of my arrival. Management issues of prices and providing the facilities to the customer. Agoda needs to review the property and i will not recommend to stay in this guest house. Recommendation Agoda needs to introduce option of changing for the customer if they dont like it especially such property so that this guest house management provide the better quality for customer.

Easy walking distance to the Golden Mile, the University or Arthur's Seat as well as local restaurants. Parking was complimentary but was a wee bit of a challenge for a compact size car driven by a North American who drives on the other side of the road - worthy of another visit

Thornfield Guest House ”
I’ve never written a negative review before but really feel this is justified. This place is a dirty youth hostel. The shower was electric but there was no hot water. The general condition of this place was shocking. Wallpaper hanging from the walls, damp patches, dirty every where. To speak to anyone we had to ring a mobile, to check in, about the shower, then it wasn’t answered, to checkout not answered again so we just left the keys in a bowl. Just an awful experience. Definitely not a guest house. A travel lodge or premier inn would have been much much better.

Do not stay here”
Booked in for 5 nights...shower in my private bathroom did not function on the 2nd night, was given the use of a shower in a ground floor room, i was on the 2nd floor...was told it would be fixed the next day. I asked if i could switch rooms, was told the place was fully booked. Next day after work, shower didnt work so i left. Spent over 1 week waiting for word from hotel on refund. Was eventually told i had left of my own accord, the shower would’ve been fixed and i would have been provided a shower as i was on day 2. Not sure how they would provide me with another shower if the place was fully booked...was refused a refund for 3 days and was given 1 day only. Room i had was not very clean, dirt behind the taps on sink in my room, door hinges very rusty, decor looked like it had been done by children...and fixtures fitted by the same children. An absolute dive, how it managed a rating of 8 on agoda i have no idea...if i could rate with no stars for all but location i would but i cant

Hotel was not good because carpeted room were very dusty and i found spiders and other issues Manager was not show up on complain. I was paying the 30% extra as compared the current rate of room but quality wasn't good Manager waant help to manage the issues of room

The Thornfield Guest House was not actually where I stayed, even though I had booked there. Due to no heating in the building, I was taken to another nearby B&B, Edinburgh Travel Guest House. The young chap who escorted me to my room, was polite, good humoured & did everything he could to make a strange situation beatable. The en-suite room at the top floor (not for anyone with mobility issues) was large, clean and warm. The shower room still had the previous guests shampoo and empty liquid soap in it, these were not the B&B’s complimentary items, unless they suspect everyone has dandruff! The Edinburgh Travel Guest House (which is the property I stayed in, due to The Thornfield not being useable) uses the same door entry system as The Thornfield, it’s a touch key pad and you are given your code when you check in. At around 22.30pm I was woken by someone opening my door and briefly looking in. Concerned about this, I remained awake till the early hours of the morning, during which I had a couple of knocks on my door and people standing around the door talking. If I was a female I would have been very scared, and I would suggest the owners act immediately to stop anyone gaining access to other rooms, unless in an emergency. From the three beds in the room I could have slept in, I chose the double, it was comfortable if a little bumpy at times. The hallway is a strange colour, a kind of purple pink red. It’s not my cup of tea but perhaps others find it charming. The stairs curve all the way up, and are not for anyone who is unfit, carrying heavy bags or suffering from disability issues. There is no question you get what you are willing to pay for in Edinburgh, and The Edinburgh Travel Guest House (which may be owned by the same individual(s) who own The Thornfield) is a basic guest house which with the exception to the serious issue of privacy in your room, is a decent place to kip and explore the city from.

Pago por una habitación para 4 (dos niños pequeños) y me dan una habitación para dos. ”
Como lo oyes, tengo el contrato para dos adultos y dos niños de 24m2 y me entrega una habitación con una sola cama de matrimonio de 15m2 con el suplemento de una cama más a 40£. Horrible el trato y ni ganas de contentar a los clientes. Solución: dormir en el suelo ya que los niños son de 3 y 5 años. Para no volver nunca. Gracias.

Habitación correcta con baño fuera”
El alojamiento está bien, una guest house normal. La localización está a media hora andando hasta el centro, bien si quieres caminar y en bus es bastante rápido y para en la puerta. Lo único es el lavabo: si no pone ensuite el lavabo está fuera aunque en la reserva os ponga "baño privado"!!! Cuidado porque hay que salir al rellano del resto de habitaciones para usar tu baño.

에딘버러 시내와 좀 떨어져 있습니다. 걸어서 30분, 버스로 10분. 버스는 자주 있구요. 숙소의 위치가 버스정류장 사이에 위치해 있어요. 어디에서 내리시더라도 1분 정도는 걸으셔야 합니다. 아서스시트까지 걸어가기 좋은 위치입니다. 주인아주머니는 쿨~ 하시구요.(좋았다는 의미^^) 방은 넓고 매우 따뜻하였습니다. 욕실이 따로 있는 방이었는데, 방에 세면대와 커피포트가 있어서 유용하였습니다.
