We at first booked another hotel by 2018.June, but the other hotel changed its policy without noticing us that no child is allowed anymore. I found it just 1 day before my credit card will be charged. So I booked Enokiya Ryokan just one week before. The staffs are very friendly and replied my questions promptly. I am very impressive about their service before I checked in already. We checked in just at 3pm, and the family hot spring is available, so our family had a nice bath and hot spring experience. After dinner, we return back to hotel. The location is beside the river, and very quiet. However, it is not far from the main shopping street. It’s near a supermarket, a 7-11, and just few minutes walk to the lake. The room is big and comfy. My 3yrs boy loves this place and the futon so much that he wants to stay longer. Thanks for hosting, and provide us a quiet and nice place to stay. The house is tradition old Japanese style, but the room is clean and neat. Breakfast tastes really good, we love to miss the egg with hot rice, and adding a little bit of miso. Yummy! We strongly recommended, and sure would love to come back again.

If you are fine with a public bath, I recommend this place. There is one family/private bath, but it is on a first come first served basis. The place is clean and is located right next to the main street. Staff was also very helpful and breakfast was good.

worth to stay ”
nice frontdesk service, thoguth the public hotspring is feasible, you can lock the door yourself and it became a private one, quite fun. By the way, the hotel is just near a nice creek, you can just hear the bickering around your room and I think it's the best lullaby for you. Last but not least, there's a large cheey tree just near our windows, I think it's pretty awsome if it's in blossom.

Beautiful House!”
Beautiful house with good atmosphere. Room is nice with creek view. The house is on the main street, there’s a 7-11 very close to the house. Breakfast is nice, cute cats walks around the house. The outdoor onsen is very comfortable. But the family onsen is not warm enough. Each room will offer ice & cold water which is super considerate. There is no elevator in the house but the staff will carry the luggage’s for you. But you’ll have to carry it on yourself when check out. There is no curfew, free to walk out any time. Smoking area is outside the front door, you can enjoy the creek view while smoking. If there’s second time to visit Yufuin, this house is still the first choice!

Beautiful ryokan, rich in Japanese culture with fantastic views and access to plenty of nearby hotspots. Futons might be slightly uncomfortable for those not used to sleeping in that style, but otherwise a fantastic place to visit.

It was a nice surprise. The room was wide and spacious. The lobby is an old traditional house but the hotel facility is new. Breakfast is extra but it’s worth paying for. The grilled miso for rice topping was really delicious as well as the tamago. Would come back again. Btw no elevators but this isn’t an issue for me

Pleasant stay but could be better”
Staff was polite, but curt and straightforward. Basically how I felt was, you stay at their Ryokan and listen to whatever they say. Dinner option is quite pricey, about 5000yen and breakfast was about 1000 yen. There’s a nice view of the mountains in the morning and a nice breadshop nearby which is very popular. I think if you book earlier, you can get better option nearer to the JR , so you will not need to luge your luggage for 10 minutes along the pavement.

Ryokan with a great location ”
We came in a 8-seater car, and had to navigate carefully along very narrow roads and bridges. Ryokan has a family atmosphere. Lake Kinrin is about 10 to 15 min walk away along the river side. The autumn foliage is beautiful. The shops in the main shopping street close by 5.30 pm and it starts to get dark quickly. But there are a few eateries near to the supermarket that remain open, in case you need to eat dinner.

room was cleaned & huge, nice hot sprint. this hotel without lift facility, but the staff will help you carry your luggage to the 2nd or 3rd floor upon your arrival, but you have to carry your luggage yourself upon checking-out!

Perfect for the price and location. The room was really nice and the bath was good too. The only recommendation is that it would be nice to have a sign in the bath that ‘please be quiet’ in the bath. The Chinese family in the female bath was so loudly talking to her husband/dad over the wall, which was very disturbing and unpleasant. Other than that I would recommend the ryokan to everyone.

Ryokan is very near to the main walking street. There is no restriction for going out late at night to get food and drinks. Our room 201 is facing the river but style is a bit old. There is no shower in the room as they would expect you to shower at the Onsen. Parking is free but limited space. There isn't international TV Channels.

Generally speaking, we feel satisfied with the hotel and the service. The room is clean and big, but the hot spring isn't really very attractive while the water isn't hot enough. The first breakfast has only fried tofu, egg, and Japanese salted vegetables, for some people who do not like eating salted vegetables will be a problem. The second day's breakfast has salmon, that's better. I will recommend to friends if your budget isnt big.

It's just behind the main street of attractions and 10-min walk to the lake. They have private onsen and public onsen available. I've tried both, great!
