Small but comfortable”
we stayed in may 2012. we were actually put in the melville hotel (part of the same group of hotels, along with albion hotel). our room was small but nice as it had recently been renovated. we didn't mind the small size as we were out all day sightseeing. tv had good reception. the bathroom was also small but again recently renovated so very nice. our room was cleaned every day. we were on the second floor and there was no lift, though this wasn't a problem for us. a no frills buffet style continental breakfast was provided and consisted of ham, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, toast, jams, cereal, milk, juice, tea & coffee. breakfast was held down the road in the albion hotel, however we had read about this on trip advisor and so weren't too worried by this. we did have to wait (outside) for a table once but on the other 4 mornings no problem getting a table. this budget hotel has a great location - just short walk from kings cross tube station/st pancras international train station.

Lovely hotel near the centre”
We had a really nice time in the Excelsior Hotel. Friendly staff, good location (easy to reach any part of the city), small but clean and nice room with a view on the street. We even got an upgrade. Thank you very much again for the lovely stay.

Great location, 5 minutes walk from King's Cross Station for Heathrow Airport”
The receptionist computer office is opened only from 700 am till 900 pm (???) . I cannot print anything for my work when needed. I have 8 hours time difference and I needed printings past midnight London time. This is inconvenient for those travelling with work and on time difference. I will recommend this hotel but only to those who do not need printing service at night. If I had needed to work during the day , I can easily go to several printing shops nearby. There other hotels in London who can do printing at night.

Stored my luggage for the day for free!”
Was pleasantly surprised with this low cost, basic accommodation. It served my needs for an overnight stay and late arrival into London. They even stored my luggage for free all the next day! Only suggestion for improvement would be to advise visitors to bring their own tea bags! What's the point of having a kettle and cups but nothing to make a cuppa with? Wouldn't have minded bringing my own herbal tea bag if I had known?! Good, clean and basic place to stay.

Super convenient but Super small”
Clean. Very good location. Very near to kings cross station. Environment is quiet. Staff working are nice and helpful too. Though it was cooling, There's no aircon in the room and the room is very small so it's a little stuffy. The staff brought us fan to circulate the air. I was staying on the first floor hence no need to carry the luggages up. No lift. Enjoyed my stay here!:)

Great location for st pancras station, small rooms”
Arrived at the hotel very late but the staff at the hotel were very friendly and gave advice on nearby restaurants which was nice. The room was very small and compact but not a bad standard and it was clean and well kept. Only a few minutes walk to st pancras station which is what we went there for. Overall I would recommend for a night but wouldn't like to stay for too long

The position is excellent”
the position is excellent for the visitor to paris. only need 3mins to arrive st. pancras train station. lots of restaurant nearby the hotel, no need to worry about food problem. there is a small park in front of the hotel, the environment is well and silent. no esclator in this hotel, if you have lots of luggage, please tell the receptionlist to arrange a lower flat to live.

Good”
Book Excelsior hotel but was asked to go to the hotel next door. Rooms not ready at allotted time. Shower drain was blocked so was not able to have a decent shower as worried that the water will overflow and slosh into the bedroom. No proper luggage storage area. The only things good were the Wifi and the location.

Friendly staff, adequate room & breakfast.”
For a quad room (2 double beds) the bathroom was tiny - even by London standards. The breakfast (in another hotel across the square) should be avoided & a lie in taken instead. There are very nice places to eat in the area. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly & was the best thing about this place. Although I slept moderately well, the slamming of doors can be heard throughout.

Hotel with a smile but I will never return again!”
* Terrible basement rooms, narrow stairways. Tough luck for those who have many and large luggages! * Large bathroom but basin was extremely small, not able to put you head into it nor brush teeth!! * Room extremely cold especially at the bath room area! * Do Not accept luggages stored over night(s) for those whom wish to travel to other European cities via St Pancras Stn, which is why we chose to stay at this hotel nearest to the station. It defeats the purpose * Main manager server of breakfast not friendly, grouchy looking but female server's friendliness help ease the atmosphere. * Helpful Duty Manager made our stay finally a "memoriable" one.

Nice Hotel”
Staff very accommodating. changed rooms for us to a ground floor when they saw how many bags we had and no lift at the hotel. The hotels are all interconnected so ended up officially staying at the Albion which is just across the square so okay with that

Do not stay here especially if u have children.”
The Hotel was approx 10mins walking distance from Kings cross st pancras station which was very convenient. Staff was accommodating. Room was clean. But, the location had drunkards near the park and was noisy @night. The hotel room was small with a lopsided double bed and the toilet was as small and narrow as the closet.

Value for money”
It was a fantastic location, quiet and very affordable for London. The room was tiny but the bed was comfortable. The room stank of cigarette smoke though, which made us both feel ill, and it was hit and miss to get a hot shower (I had 1 Icey cold, 1luke warm and one hot) . All up we got what we paid for so we're happy with that.

Worst than a hostel with lousy room conditions.”
Read so much negatives reviews about it but we decided to give it a shot. Trust the reviews here travelers, it is very true! The hotel could have changed the priority of the business model. It seems like a place just to churn money out of travellers because of its good location. Booking for a double room was made with Excelsior but checked into No. 41 Melville instead. We took the effort to travel down early morning just to inform concierge of room preference as i was pregnant but the surprise came in during our return in the evening that no remarks were made, hence, our only option was on the 3rd floor or the basement. Rather to lug baggages all the way up, we took the basement offer in room No. 60 but the condition of the room were horrendous. The room was not clean, towels are with sticky stuff, hair everywhere (including the bed), loose toilet seat, ceiling that drips water, bad sound proofing room (footsteps from above). Would not recommend this kind of hotel to anyone out there, why pay for lousy services and room with such conditions.

Small Hotel near Train Station”
A budget hotel for a visit to London as its close to the main transport hub

Great location but small rooms”
Room is very small. Breakfast is acceptable, but crowded. This hotel unite with other b&b of same district. They share the same reception and breakfast area. Therefore, it's too crowded and little service each customer will get. Hotelier charge me twice!! It's unbelievable that hotelier not notice its transaction, and ask me to pay twice, even though I claim I've paid by Agoda. Hopefully, I received my refund before I checked out.

Excellent”
We booked the 2 bedroom apartment. There were a lot of narrow stairs as we were given the top floor. Kitchen had all the utensils and crockery we needed but no cleaning products are provided. Bathroom had no hand soap and there wasn't any top up of shower gel for our 3 days stay. Washing machine and drying racks were very useful. Comfortable beds in a fantastic location, close to eateries and public transport.
