Stayed 4 nights. Initial problem as sign at front did not indicate it was Borromeo Branch (unless i missed something). 30minute wait despite arriving hours after usual check in. Confirmed reservation ok. Room second floor.No elevator. Stairs only. Large room. Clean. No view except tiny window in bathroom of outside. bathroom clean and surprisingly modern looking. Water pressure fine. No towels on arrival. Received later. Didnt try food.Bed ok.Aircon strong. Several nights noises in corridor late - either outside or upstairs. Thin walls. Reception friendly. Staff friendly in general & courteous. Location is central - out back is night markets & boats out to other islands in area. Shops and public market is about a 5 minute walk.Only cons - room bit pricey - hard find cheap hotel in Surigao ...

Better than expected”
I booked a room for my Filipina gf and she was extremely pleased. She stayed the previous night in a place across the street from Ey Suites Navarro Street, P700-$16 which had air con & tv, but she said EyMiner Suites Borromeo was as nice as the Tavern! No free breakfast if one books online (Agoda)

Surigao hotel”
EY Miner is a good hotel for the price. It is located near the ferry boat terminals in central Surigao. The staff is friendly and the rooms although small, are clean. The air-con and wifi are sufficient. I will definitely stay there again.

This is a good place to stay in Surigao , we stayed here one night before going to Siargao , The port is very near and the town plaza is just a few steps. The room was nice and comfortable, a modern theme room with a huge TV. Very recommendable .

I suppose we cannot expect too much from a hotel in Surigao City. The hotel lobby looked nice and the front desk people were very nice to let us have an early check-in. The room was ok but the bed was tiny. I booked the Platinum room and the bed is definitely not a double bed... maybe if you were midgets. I think it was somewhere like 1.4m width. The rooms were generally clean sans a couple of roaches that came to look around from an unfinished floor/wall crack beside the cabinet. The kitchen people are hilarious as I asked for breakfast they said no, and I asked the front desk and she said kitchen was open and we could have breakfast. I've read the reviews which says breakfast is not included and finally realized this must be the point so I went back to the resto staff and asked if kitchen was open and they said yes and I said can i have breakfast and they said no. LOL I asked why, they said ask the front desk. Went back to front desk and I said I'm paying only then would the kitchen staff serve us. Anyway, the location on Agoda is wrong. It is actually more central than the location map so if you'd be looking for the hotel, call them and ask for directions as following the map will cause you to get lost. Not saying it's a terrible place but it is acceptable for what it is.

Great Experience Compared to my Last Visit”
I have had a great experience this time. I stayed with my family in the hotel and it was bigger compared to the previous room we had during our first visit. Make sure to get a bigger one and you won't regret. There was a problem with the sink though and I hope they could fix it.

Try To Avoid This Hotel”
I stayed at EY Miner Suites for 3 weeks and the experience was just bad bad bad. My #1 complaint was that the bathroom door was a thin, translucent, glass door intended to be used as a shower door. This gave the person in the bathroom zero privacy. The tiles from the shower wall had fallen off before I arrived. Instead of putting them back or even picking them up the cleaning staff just pushed them over to the corner of the shower and left them to collect germs and filth for god knows how long. The drain in the shower often had a urine odor coming out of it which frequently filled the entire room. The day time staff was pleasant. The night time staff was very relaxed and not really there to work. The wifi is unreasonably slow because the staff is constantly streaming videos on their cell phones. The night time door man could not be bothered to open the door for us because it would require him to put his phone down. We tried to eat breakfast at the hotel once. Having ordered only bacon and rice we waited 45 minutes before we decided to just cancel our order. The remainder of the trip we ate at local restaurants. Thing is there aren't many hotels in Surigao so you may have no choice but to stay at the EY Miner, but I would suggest avoiding it if you can.

Good location but room is too small”
It was ok. We just stayed here because it was close to the Pier. The room is a bit small to be considered as a Platinum room. But the bathroom is nice. And i think the walls are thin; i can hear the noises from the next room. But it's tolerable. The staff was nice, they assisted us well when we're asking about the ferry schedules and even gave us a free ride to the Pier (and free shuttle from airport)

Nice Hotel and Conveniently Located”
It is quite new but I guess it is poorly maintained. There are cockroaches in the room during our stay but I guess this is something which can be improved. I very much like the staff. The hotel is conveniently located within the heart of the city. It is a great place to stay for people who are waiting for their trip to Siargao island and Bucas Grande island because it the pier is only on the other side of the hotel.

Good location”
The hotel is located in the city where transportation is very accessible, just in front of the hotel. The room meanwhile is very small, it is just for transient stay. Staff is not very friendly and ways to please the customer. They are very limited to what "management" orders.

Nice place. Modern rooms. ”
Nice place but we didn't stay long. Only around 10hrs as a stop over to siargao. Staff were uncooperative as I had booked through agoda whilst walking into the hotel. They had refused my booking and offered to drive us to their partner hotel. I had bluntly refused his offer and demanded a room there and then. They then upgraded me after much arguing. Wifi was non existent. But the room was modern with a queen bed and a single bed.

Haven't eaten in restaurant yet so gave it 3 of 5. first trip wifi worked well but this time we're all the way down the hall and the signal is very weak.great ac / TV, comfortable bed,unique bathroom, wish it had hot water-well seems we have hot water in this room

Reasonable budget hotel”
This place is only half the price of what you get charged at tavern, so its a good alternative if you really are on a budget. However rooms are not as clean and there are now windows and thus no views. The bathrooms are small but as long as the hot water works, ok. Breakfast, which is not great onlt gets served until 7.30h. It complementary if you are walk in, AGODA customers have to pay. Not so nice.

a good budget hotel”
centrally located hotel where transport is accessible. the dining staff and security personnel are highly commendable for their very hospitable and accommodating attitude towards guests. the front desk staff though i understand the language barrier, should have the same attitude towards guests as i couldn't understand why the security guard was entertaining my queries while the front desk staff just gave me a blank stare.

Not your hotel for those with automobiles”
POOR. no parking space, one of the guards does not guard at all. the airconditioning turns off along with all the other machines needing electricity at some time during dawn. i have to wake up and turn the ac again, such a hassle poor wifi connection, at times i need to go out from my room to get better wifi signal. and in the lobby it is infested with mosquitoes
