Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I - Barcelona”
I thouroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona. I was there in May 2009. The weather was great and the hotel was all that it was advertised and more. This is an elegant hotel with a fantastic staff. I had nothing but good experiences here. The rooms were quiet, and I slept great. I rarely do that when I travel, but I did here. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel & Great Pool & Great Food”
The hotel itsel very nice & great lobby & amazing amenities & the pool excellent & breakfast was very nice however, overcrowded with people but definitely worth it. During my stay I experienced several issues but I won't be going into details of those issues, as the front office Manager Ms. Mar resolved all the issues and offered a great solution. The Fairmont hotel in Barcelona is very lucky that have this amazing person. Overall day reception staff was great and very helpful. This is a great hotel but several people that working there have no idea what it is a 5***** service. I would definitely return to this hotel during the summer. Thank you to the Front Office Manager Ms. Mar for her kindnesses and excellent service. My room was 631 which has is a great view on the mountain.

Good quality hotel but too old fashioned”
rey juan carlos i - is a classic and one of the oldest hotels in barcelona. it is luxurious and elegant, but it definitely needs to be renewed. as for the zone, it is high class area of barcelona with many parks, but it is very far away from the city center. there is golf and polo clubs just near the hotel.

Fantastic first stay in Barcelona! ”
The hotel was fantastic, the location wasn't in the hustle/bustle of the city however the transport links were fantastic with the Metro station being a 5 minute walk way, so from hotel to Las Ramblas it took 20 minutes (definitely recommend the T10 ticket on the Metro). Even getting a taxi from the hotel to the centre was only 13 Euros! A taxi from the Airport cost 20 Euros (their minimum charge). The hotel itself was fabulous, it was very modern, with the hotel lobby being the centrepiece! The pool and spa area were very relaxing and although you're in the city, you really can relax. We had treatments in the Indian spa rooms and these were lovely. Overall a brilliant holiday (3 nights) and I would definitely be returning. The breakfast was excellent and definitely worth prebooking as it costs 25 Euros per person if you don't and there are no shops nearby. The only negative thing I would say is that the cocktail bar is overpriced and the atmosphere in there wasn't great - so drink/eat in the centre of Barcelona.

Great hotel, OK location”
The location of the hotel wasn't great, but it was close enough to a metro stop that made it easy to get into the center of Barcelona. The room itself was amazing. Bedside touchscreen panels controlled everything in the room, from activating the electronic "Do Not Disturb" sign to setting the temperature control. The bathrooms were great, with a bathtub and shower that were separate. I would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous hotel”
I felt like royalty from the moment I stepped out of my taxi. Incredible view. Lovely friendly staff. Peaceful bliss and the food in both the main restaurant, breakfast and terrace is Devine!!!! I recommend the steak in the terrace. The spa was super clean with everything you need. I had a massage in the spa. Very professional and looked after with gorgeous gown and slippers. The pools are lovely. One with jacuzzi seats to relax and watch the day go by. The polo club is great to see from the higher floors, where you can see the horses play. They looked as happy I was! The kind staff, feel of luxury in all the gorgeous treats I will be coming back every year!!! Fallen in love with this hotel. I can not recommend enough. To note I was a solo traveler and was perfect for that experience. Taxi to airport was 23 euro. Slightly pricey in hotel, but you get quality and great service, so I wanted to pay that price. My burger for 21euro with a red wine came to 31 euro with tip for example.

Great hotel and lovely staff. We got a little pressie for our wedding anniversary. A bit out of Barcelona but only a 5min walk away from the metro which takes you to all the best parts of Barcelona within 15-20mins.

Excellent hotel,very comfortable room,fine cotton sheets,comfortable pillows,attentive staff. The grounds are well laid out with a beautiful lake,very tranquil. I had supper both nights in the garden restaurant and enjoyed some of the best cuisine for some time,the sea bass was excellent as were the scallops all for 45 Euro,not bad. Sadly the massage trteatments were fully booked all week,clearly a case for taking on more staff to cope with demand. Apart from that the hotel could not be faulted,I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Mixed feelings”
The pool facilities where very nice my 3 yr old loved them, beds very comffy. Check in staff, concierge, and cleaners very helpful.. Now the drawbacks. On arrival i was met by curbside people telling me it was forbiden to stop my car there despite 4 other cars stopped there. I guess we looked a little poor. After parking in the parkade the bell staff asked us to bring the car around front to unload (where we were tossed out of 10 min before). Secondly 25€ for parking because they 'do not own parkade under their building) They did not find a parking lot in a field sneak in and building a 100 million hotel ontop when the guy wasnt looking. They outsource the parking so they can squeeze some more money out of you while offering a more reasonable rate on paper. I feel once you pass 200 to 250€ a night level you should forgo.the nickle and dime money grabs. It feels like Ryan Air shaking you down for a bag of peanuts

Good for business traveller with nearby commitments”
A very professional and well run hotel with reasonable facilities though when I went the pool was not open until 1000. I would definitely stay again for an event based in the hotel (which mine was) or in the nearby convention centre. But you could do much better if you are visiting Barcelona for leisure.

Our second visit to the Hotel. The reason for coming back was because of Mr Carmine at the B24 bar who was so warm and made sure both my wife and i got our truly enjoyed our evening. On this trip Ms Maggie at the check in was absolutely fantastic. Once again thanks to Mr Carmine we had a wonderful evening at bar.

Great pool facilities, not too crowded and always managed to get a lounger. Rooms were lovely and clean, beds were very comfortable. Although this was a luxury hotel I did find the food and drink prices well over the top, 3 soft drinks, a hotdog and some nibbles by the pool came to €50! A ltr bottle of water was €6.

The stay was rather short, but enjoyed the friendly staff and large comfortable room. Lost more than an hour looking for hotel representative in the airport, luckily many taxis's available that accept creditcard... No comments on hotel itself, excellent hotel.

The hotel is outside downtown but still cloce to the city with subway. The building itself is very ugly but it is fine inside. The rooms are large and we had view to Camp Nou. Free wifi. A large lounge part where we ordered burgers which however was not good. Not approved for a five-star hotel to serve bad burgers.The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel has two large pools, one of which is child free. There is a very good gym and spa. Overall, my wife and I were happy with the hotel.

Beautiful hotel with freindly staff”
The hotel is very modern. The staff are very friendly. My stay was perfect as I was given a bigger room with spaceous toilet. The hotel is 20 minutes to the Rambla street by Metro, which is great. The only issue I have was trying to print my plane tickets during weekend which are not possible because of the business centre is close. The conceiage and front desk had a problem with their email during that weekend. Apart from that, its an excellent hotel.
