Attended TARS conference cum vacation ”

Fully enjoyed my stay at Fairmont. Recommended to stay here because it was the venue of this years TARS conference and it turned out to be a delight stay for my wife and I. Service from front desk to F&B was outstanding (in fact my wife made several friends among the staff). Too cold for me to play golf now but they have 2 courses in the property. Fairmont St Andrews is undoubtedly a 5 star hotel with (I estimate ) 50sqm rooms and 4 fixture bathrooms. As I said lovely property and made special by the quality of the service.

Great get away”

This was our first time not only in Fairmount,but St Andrews.Really good whistle stops in Crail,Pittenweem,Anstruther. we will come back The hotel was very good,everything you need & want. great location, Staff were brilliant from the minute you arrived,very helpful,considerate and very good at their jobs..Special mention to Max We will be back to Fairmount.

We stayed 1 night. The hotel was an ideal location as we were visiting Kingsbarn whiskey center. Our room was a larger 2 double beds with a sea and golf course view (1017). Excellent bathroom and amenities. We ate in the bar for our evening meal and the food was good. The breakfast which was included in the price was excellent, a large choice and all very fresh. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My advice do not book direct with the hotel as it is much, much cheaper on Agoda.

EXCELLENT HOTEL AND WONDERFUL STAFF, LOCATION PERFECT”

We were celebrating our silver wedding. Location and staff were wonderful We have been a stayed a couple of time before but because of Covid 19 changes had to be made but staff coped with them successfully and were very courteous and polite. Would not hesitate to visit again or recommend to friends.

For golfers stay”

It was overall a good and satisfying stay. Worth the money as it’s very glamorous. But the service for housekeeping has to be improved. The amenities is not complete, missing some important toiletries that I requested twice and still, they did not attend. I had to go out and buy it myself. I mean if you’re paying a premium price, you expect good and efficient service

A little north of the city, they had a free shuttle to town, but last shuttle was 5:20pm. No evening transportation.

Disappointing”

They are in the middle of a refurbishment, and really it was chaotic. We were upgraded to the most wonderful suite. The views were stunning and it was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a catalogue of errors. The cleanliness fell down here as they failed to clear any of the surrounding tables. It just carried on and the professionalism of the staff definitely didn't not meet the level of expectation. It was a shame as the standards are usually very high.

Cleanliness of room was poor, vacuum filters needed changing - smell in room was awful (dog hair). Dog barking - waking you up early - ain't good on holiday:(

Stayed for one night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The hotel is beautiful and staff very friendly. It’s only a little thing, but we had no toiletries in our our room when we arrived so mentioned this to one of the cleaning staff. She advised that she would arrange to have this rectified, but they still hadn’t appeared when we returned a few hours later. I had to call reception who did arrange to have them sent to our room. When we returned to the hotel after a lovely night out, the hotel was experiencing problems with their power supply, which meant we couldn’t have a drink at the bar, there was no power in our room apart from emergency lighting and it affected the water supply, which meant we couldn’t shower or even brush our teeth! I know that this is largely outwith the hotel’s control, but it did take the shine off what was a very expensive overnight stay. On the plus side, we took advantage of the hotel’s shuttle bus which took us into town and back and breakfast was fantastic.
