Lovely hospitality from a sweet Japanese old couple”

I think by far the most wonderful stay I ever had. It is a Japanese house set-up owned by Japanese couple. The husband picked and dropped us off to the ski resort which is only a 3-minute drive from the location, also he helped us secure a rented ski stuff. He also has a friend who is a ski instructor, for those who wanted to ski for the first time. The room is quite big with a kotatsu table and a heater. Bedding to set up by yourselve but with English instructions. A private onsen is also fun, you can do it at the same time as a family. On our last day, we just went to the backyard to play with the snow, my son's most favorite part of the trip. Oshimas san provides snow boots as well, and some stuff for playing in the snow which includes a sled or something. Breakfast and dinner are part of the package, or if not be sure to get 'em. They were superb, sumptous and more than enough actually. The wife cooks the meal while the husband support in everything you need to for the trip, he speaks little English but with his smartphone, he can translate anytime. So it was not too difficult to communicate at all. If you are coming by Shinkansen, drop off at Echigo-Yuzawa station. Go East exit, then to the left down the escalator are buses. Take Bus #1 right next to the exit and drop off at the last stop Seibu Crystal, which is a hotel 3-minute walk to Family House Akashiya. Fare is 670 per head and runs for about 40 minutes from Echigo-Yuzawa station. Bus drivers speak English as well, so it is easy. The whole trip was beautiful, my son loved it so much and he wanted to go back there again soon. I highly recommend to stay at this hotel.

I’ve been to other lodging around this area and this place is the best. Family House Akashiya was about 5 mins away from Naeba ski resort. It is owned by a very sweet and caring elderly couple. Check in was easy. Food was delicious. Breakfast and dinner were home-cooked which made this place special. I recommend this place and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous hospitality! We were looked after every minute of our stay, including taking us to and from the ski fields, helping us hire gear, and organising lessons. The food was delicious and abundant, and we would go back again anytime! Japanese hospitality at its best.

很漂亮的家庭旅馆，是一对精神矍铄的日本老人开的。一定要订半食宿，这样就可以吃到老阿姨美味的佳肴，她是当地调理师协会会员，而且量很大，饭管够。我们带了小孩，他们也给小孩准备了所有餐食，但是也不收钱，都有点不好意思了。走的时候还送了小孩糖果礼物，绝对是8天的旅途中最好最温馨的一次住宿。而且不论去滑雪还是泡温泉，老板都会开车送过去，真是太好了。 要注意离王子酒店有点远，所以一定要打电话让他们来接，当然也不会收费。

是一對日本老夫婦所經營的民宿，儘管語言不通，老爺爺和老奶奶也會盡量使用他們所會的英文或手機翻譯與我們溝通！ 老奶奶的料理更是一級棒，且多變化，每天吃的都不同，且量好足！老爺爺就負責接待及接送我們去雪場，且無料！ 民宿環境樸實丶溫馨，雖然位置不在熱鬧街上那區，但住這裡也不會想去街上逛了！最後我們要離開前，老奶奶還送了日本伴手禮給我們，真是不好意思！ 下次若有再去，一定選這裡！非常值得，老爺爺與老奶奶對民宿的用心經營，是很令人敬佩的！
