The primary concern is definitely the location of the hotel, I'll like to summarize in such way for first timer to understand better: 1. Approx 20 minutes walk from JR SHINJUKU HIGASHI EXIT 2. Approx 1 minute walk from TOKYO METRO SHINJUKU HIGASHI B2 EXIT Do not confuse with JR and Tokyo Metro line as both railways are different, easiest way is to Take Narita Express from the airport to JR Shinjuku and transit to the Oedo Line on the Tokyo Metro to reach Higashi Shinjuku B2 Exit. A lot of convenient stores (7E, Family Mart, Lawson, Lawson 100) within 1 minute walk. Both local and fast food restaurants available around the hotel as well ranging from Mcdonald, Sukiya, Pepper lunch to local Japanese Shokudo (Serving all sorts of Japanese local food) Hotel staff can speak fluent English thus no worries on communication and the housekeeping service is superb. All the required daily amenities are provided such as shampoos, hairdryer, conditioner, even tooth brush set and razer blade! Pls bring your own facial cleanser as it's not provided. Room is relatively cramp (2 people)but considering it's location and price in Tokyo, Shinjuku thus no complain. Vending machine available at each floor of the hotel with free ice available. Definitely perfect for those who like to enjoy their cold beer. Will definitely stay again whenever I decided to visit Tokyo again!

Great Stay! Few things to improve but overall, worth the money.”
We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Sunroute Higashi Shinjuku. It’s located near the train station. Easy access to restaurants, shops, tourist spots. You can always find a fun place nearby any time of the day, even in the wee hours. The hotel staff is very accommodating and hospitable. Food is great in Royal Host. If you are not a morning person, you will still be able to enjoy free food because the breakfast voucher can be used for lunch or dinner in case you missed breakfast. Room is decent, clean and has enough space. Aircon works fine. Something to improve though would be an extra pillow. The room has 2 pillows (1 each for 2 guests). I believe you can request for extra but it would have been more convenient if it is readily prepared. Other than that, we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Once time solo traveller to Japan. ”
Having arrived in Tokyo at 9 am after an all night flight from London, it was lovely to find the Sunroute Hotel within a 20 minute walk from Shinjuku train Station. Although not booked into a room until 2pm, I was able to leave some luggage and had time to explore the colourful and exciting area around the hotel, including finding Godzilla on the side of a building. I appreciated the clean room and quietness when I got to my room around two and was able to sleep! Lots of night life on a Friday evening around the area. Breakfast ( which was included in my hotel deal) was in the Royal Host. It was a buffet breakfast and brilliant, a mix of western and Asian foods, , staff- super attentive and lovely and clean. Certainly would recommend and would gonna k again.

Affordable inn with good location at Shinjuku ”
This hotel is very affordable compared to other hotels. Location is superb, few meters to Shinjuku - Higashi station B2 exit. Breakfast buffet is good, enough variations from cereals to rice, fruits, bacon, sausage, creamy scrambled egg, salmon, mackerel, banana bread, dumplings etc. Coffee, juices, tea. Room is small but comfortable bed after a long stroll and getting a good sleep after a long day of sightseeing. Cleanliness os also good, we stayed for 5days 4 nights and they changed our towels, sleepwares, slippers, everyday. They also provided new sets of vanity kits toothbrush, razors, body sponge. Room has a temp control, warm enough to get a good sleep and rest (it was 4C outside when we're there). If we will come back to Tokyo, we will surely stay here again.

Very happy with my stay”
I stayed here for six nights. I was attending and presenting at a conference at a university nearby. I wanted to be very central. This hotel perfectly suited my needs. It is next door to a metro station (which is on two lines). After work, I was able to buzz around Tokyo very quickly - you can get anywhere on the metro station, particularly as you are next door to two metro lines. I walked to central Shinjuku several times, as it is only a 15 minute walk . The room is small, but you would expect that in central Tokyo. It had everything I needed. You can open the window, which is great. The air-con is comfortable. The bedding is comfortable. It is clean. The staff are friendly and polite. I would stay here again, for sure.

We had a great stay at Sunroute hotel. Despite being a very small room, it was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The room was cleaned daily too and we were given fresh sheets and new towels everyday. The decor was a bit outdated but we didn’t mind. The location was also great, it was a 10 min walk to Golden Gai and there was a station right next door. The staff helped us book a taxi to the airport too.

First night Hotel in Tokyo”
As two friends travelling together we wanted our own rooms at a good price, what we got was our own rooms at an excellent price. It's only 3 star but in Japan 3 star is nothing to shy away from, the in room amenities are top notch, the wifi great and if you take a look around the neighborhood you will find great local eating. The rooms are small, it's Japan and unless you are prepared to pay big bucks for more space then this is great. The staff are so nice and helpful, breakfast is fantastic value at 1030 JPY (About $13 AUD) a cooked breakfast buffet, not everything we are used to in Oz but also includes Japanese dishes as well. I will reccommend it and stay again.

Hello there! This is my first time travelling to Tokyo. Found this hotel and booked through agoda.com. Hotel was strategically located in the heart of the city and easily accessible to railway station, food outlet, family mart, 7-eleven and other convenient stores. They offer great hospitality at front desk and housekeeping. Room is very clean and organised although a little cramp. And yeah my friend and I enjoyed our stay very much!!

Good Location close to Higahi-Shinjuku”
This hotel is very convenience! The room for solo traveler is good. Bigger bed that you can add one child. Room is very tidy and clean. Staff is very good as well. The best thing is it's just next to Higashi-Shinjuku Stn. That you can take metro to everywhere easily!! Highly recommended and will book again next time in Tokyo.

Hotel was clean and affordable. About a 10-15 minute walk to the center of Shinjuku but that also meant the area was not as noisy. Easy access to the E and F line that allowed us to use the subway station easily while we were there. The staff was always super helpful and answered our questions easily even with a slight language barrier.

Never fail to dissapoint ”
My 3rd time staying here and as usual, good service and clean. As for size u can’t complain much as it is the usual size for most Tokyo hotels. 2 mins walk from higashi-Shinjuku station. Many convenient stores within 3 min walk, macs across the road and many other cafes and restaurants.

Excellent location as it was just a stone's throw away from B2 exit of Higashi-Shinjuku station. All the staff - from reservation to housekeeping - were courteous and helpful. Higashi-Shinjuku train station is right next to the building. Restaurants Pepper Lunch, Coco Ichibanya, Tully's across the street. Royal Host downstairs. 3 min walk away is Shinjuku Eastside Building where you can find lots more nice restaurants. Lawson is also right beside the hotel. Laundry service and self-service machines available in the hotel. Very convenient hotel to see Tokyo without paying too much to stay inside one of the more touristy areas.

No complaints. Great location, friendly and clean. The only improvement I would like is for the heating to be turned down. Too hot to sleep at night in overheated room. This issue seems to be common in many places though.

Like many hotels in Tokyo, the rooms aren’t very big but they are super efficient. As we spent almost all of our time enjoying the city it was just fine - we didn’t need a huge room. The bed was comfortable!

I can only say in term of good manner, they managed to get 5 star, in term of room facilities, the room space is not that big but every thing you needed is inside. Due to this Corona Virus is very common during our stay, so they change our bed sheet, tower, shoes, toothbrush and so on everyday. They are very good and deserved to get a 10 marks. Love this place.

Extremely convenient being next to Hagashi-Shinjuku station and a quick 10-15 minute walk to all the action in Shinjuku. Super comfortable stay. We slept like babies every night. Would absolutely stay here again.
