Awesome Find!”

This is a very cute hotel! My family warned me that I wouldn't find anything decent without paying outrageous prices last minute time during the X-mas/New Year's. I stumbled across this great find on Agoda. Pricing was so amazing that I was afraid I was getting snoped. I couldn't be more wrong! This is not a large, extravagant 5 star hotel, but more of a smaller 4-5 star hotel with good service, amenities and a 24-hour restaurant on the premise with exquisite 4-5 star food and service! Most hotel rooms in Japan are fairly small. The rooms at this hotel are pleasantly larger than I expected, shower and bathing area very nice, everything is very clean and comfortable. Added pluses are the grocery store and convenience market next to the hotel and plenty of great restaurants just a few steps away. I'd love to keep this wonderful find a secret! I love Asakusa, because it's not as congested as some of the Tokyo cities. I will definitely come back here the next time I visit Tokyo again!!

Good location and excellent views from the rooftop terrace”

I stayed here with a friend during the Rugby World Cup and was delighted with our choice. Having spent time in Shinjuku and Roppongi, as well as other parts of Japan, this was my favourite Tokyo location and hotel. The hotel is situated in a good location, close to the railway station and the main tourist sight (Sensoji) in the area. At fist glance the hotel doesn't look much on the outside, but once you enter your opinion soon changes. You're initially greeted with a lovely smell as you enter and when you go to the reception on the top floor it's difficult not to be impressed by the view. The room itself was a reasonable size for Tokyo and the bed comfortable. The biggest plus though is the rooftop terrace where you can view cross the city towards Skytree. It was the perfect way to end a long day with a couple of drinks as you overlook the city. Highly recommend this hotel.

This was the second year I went to the Gate Hotel. Each time I brought two Friends with me ”

All four of my friends loved the hotel the breakfast is amazing! The best breakfast out of a two week stay in Japan. The rooftop bar area has such good views. Our room faced the sky tree. I can’t say enough good Things about our experience.

Gate is Great”

I stayed in a modest semi-double and it would be large enough for two people. I loved the layout and it felt so much roomier than my current room in Osaka. My next stay in Tokyo will only be at the Gate.

accidentally went to a partner hotel and they paid for the taxi to get to the correct one. breakfast was great with fresh squeezed orange juice.

Spacious and unique”

It was a wonderful stay at the Gate Hotel. I enjoyed the spacious room and the full size of bath tub and separate shower by the side. I especially love the chic design of hotel pajama - very comfy and stylish. For the great location and easy access to tourist spots and needs, I will definitely stay in next trip.

Good option for Asakusa”

The Gate Hotel was great for our last night in Tokyo. The only issue was that the room didn't seem quite as clean as our other hotel stays, but it was so late when we checked in, we didn't have the energy to tell the hotel (just hairs in the bathroom and tub). It did the job, but also remember, if you're using the JR pass, it's off the Yamanote line, so you may want to keep that in mind.

Brilliant location, great hotel.”

We had two bedrooms, as there were four of us, 2 parents and 2 adult children. We got the hollywood twin room for our kids, and a double for ourselves. Their room felt so much bigger, even with the twin beds taking up space. Our room was still good though, just a bit tighter for luggage storage. The location couldn't be beat - so much better than being in Shinjuku or Shibuya, even if it did involve a bit more travel. Would definitely stay here again.

Good view of the sky tree at the hotel lobby. Close to the temple and station. Good breakfast with city view. Recommended and will stay here next time.

Very clean, love the interior design of the rooms, very comfortable beds and roomy (for tokyo) bathroom/shower. The lobby on higher floor has beautiful view. Near subway.

The room and the bathroom are too tiny.”

In general, the hotel is clean and tidy, and the front desk staffs are very attentive and they can speak good English. However, the hotel room is really tidy, even you cannot open the luggage completely. If you only treat it as the place for sleep, it is OK. Don't expect you can enjoy the leisure time in room. The location is superb, you can find all kinds of Japanese restaurants within the walking distance. Further, it is so close to the Subway station of Ginza Line.

Acceptable standard ”

-Location is great; easy access with sky access from Narita airport; -near to tourist spot Kaminarimon -Supermarket and beauty shop just next to the hotel Need improvement: -facilities pretty old, no usb hub for charging in the room -really dusty room and make me feel uncomfortable upon arrival, just slightly improve with daily clean-up but still very dusty -twin bed room is the corner room which I hate

Convenient location, with restaurants and tourist spots around. Except the room is a bit too warm and dry during winter. Small washroom but enough to use.

This hotel was ok”

We needed a place to stay before leaving Tokyo the following day. We stayed 8 nights in other hotels in both Tokyo and Kyoto. The others were great. This was not. The staff was helpful in getting us into a twin non-smoking room, but the room wasn't kept up. There was visable dust on the headboard, the shade to the bedside lamp was dirty and there was a ring around the drain in the sink. The rooftop was the best feature. The bartender/waiter on the rooftop was excellent.
