100 Queen's Gate Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton

"The staff was great. We arrived late at night with three teens, two boys and a girl. We needed three rooms, with at least one having two singles for the boys. My daughter had her own room next to ours, and the boys were on the next level, which was perfect. The room was very small, no fridge, but spotless. The only negative is the noise level within the hotel. The walls are very thin, and thus it was noisy. Slept to books on tape on my ipod to block sounds."

The Bentley London Hotel

" The area that the hotel is situated in,seems to be a quiet area of South Kensington. I must say at this point that I stayed overnight, weekday. I booked a queen room,It`s only a little more than standard, would rather a King however. I found that the breakfast menue had mixed messages for me. I noticed that eggs are classed vegaterian (some places do) please note that an egg would be a chicken! The staff,in my view are polite. If you take into account the price of five star hotels in this area, I would say that The Bentley is good value. "

11 Cadogan Gardens and Apartments

"I stared staying at #11 in the mid 80's and used it 6-10 x a year on visits from the US as a business traveler and with family. The calm tastefulness of the public and private rooms, the quiet efficiency of the staff made it the only place I was happy to stay. It was then acquired by someone who basically wrecked it: black paint, pictures of movie stars, a flash bar. I stayed once and never returned until just now when my assistant booked me in without my knowing in advance. I arrived expecting to see this "new" #11.and instead found that it had been acquired by people who have restored much of what I loved about the place and added some very acceptable and probably needed modernity. The tasteful environment, excellent service and calm ambience is back or mostly back, and so am I. This is agaIn, I'm delighted to say, "my" London Hotel ..."

Knightsbridge Hotel, Firmdale Hotels

"This little hotel is tucked down a quiet pretty street - it’s a haven in the midst of all the Knightsbridge hustle & bustle. I stayed for 1 night & could have happily stayed forever: it is so charming and beautifully decorated and the staff are all fantastic. I felt really welcomed and really well looked after. I booked a single room & stayed in 207. The bed is a large single and I felt that there was plenty of room for just one person. The bed itself was amazingly comfortable - I got a great nights sleep. The bedroom and the whole hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. It was cold and rainy in London when I stayed so I decided not to go out and opted to remain in the hotel for the evening. It was heavenly! There are two small sitting rooms each with a cosy fireplace - the perfect spot for afternoon tea, drinks from the honesty bar (really nicely done with a great selection), or you can order dinner there (I did all of the above!). Breakfast was very nice too. Highly recommend "

The Pelham London – Starhotels Collezione

"I booked Pelham Hotel due to the mistake that agoda made for my other booking. They didn't inform me the other hotel was full and relocated one of my rooms to a different location. Agoda staffs act immediately and transfer my booking to Pelham Hotel. Staffs in Pelham were very helpful. All the 3 rooms that i booked were nice though my room was a bit dark as the lighting was not enough. Rooms are clean and the hotel located right opposite to South Kensington tube station. It was a good stay."

The Ampersand Hotel
Chelsea,Chelsea - View on map
"I've never seen a hotel room this small before. This hotel would've been perfect, 5 stars, if not for the tiny room. It was just me and my daughter, and we're not big people. We're both skinny 100lb people and we felt squeezed in there. For the price we paid, we expected more, and yes, I know we're in South Kensington. It still didn't justify a hotel room of this size. I heard other guests talk to front desk about the size of their rooms, and I guess they've been taught to spin their answer..."you booked a standard classic room category...if you wanted a different room, you should have booked the next category, the deluxe..." Well, you're looking at more $$$$$$ if you did that when you've already paid $$$$. So don't bother discussing it cos it's a conversation that'll go nowhere. Other than that, the hotel is lovely, service is amazing, the lounge in the lobby is a delightful place to retreat to. The South Kensington tube station is literally a 3-min walk away. The restaurant options are plentiful. The V&A museum, Natural History museum, and Science museum are a short walk away. I'd stay at the Ampersand again. I'd also recommend this hotel but only if you really love your travel companion cos you'll be really cosy in that room. "
