Away from the Hustle and Bustle ”
Fox & Firefly Cottages felt like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of more touristy areas. At this point in the trip, we had experienced the beaches of the Philippines. We wanted to move inland and experience something off the beaten path. Fox & Firefly Cottages offered just that. Situated right next to the Loboc River and down a dirt path road, we were greeted by staff of the cottages with warm and friendly smiles. They showed us around the premises, pointing out the onsite restaurant (food is wonderful), open air bathroom and showers (beautifully decorated with native plants and one of my favorite parts about this place), and our cottage. We read books in our hammock on the front porch, wrote in our journals while enjoying coffee at the restaurant, and watched the stars on the dock. We enjoyed the night time firefly SUP tour. This was our first time paddle boarding and we did just fine! The tour is peaceful and a unique experience. Being able to rent scooters onsite was a bonus! We really appreciate the hospitality we were shown and highly recommend this place for future visitors.

Beautiful and Clean accomodation, Great outdoor experience ready, Friendly staffs, Good Foods”
I had one of the most memorable experience here. Accommodation was good. I did not have much problem with mosquito because of net provided and I also used my Off lotion. It was very clean and comfortable inside. There is no aircon but there are 2 electric fans. Location was good riverside to do Stand Up Paddle activity which SUP named after. It was great to be able to rent motorcycle to go around Chocolate hills etc. I really had great motorcycle travel around even at occasional raining too. Staffs are really friendly. I thank to all; Receptionists, Restaurant staffs, Cleaning and maintenance staffs and especially Paddle instructor John Ray. I had great Outdoor experience even I was very beginner of Paddle. I met Troy and he was kind too. It was beautiful surrounding with great nature. I was very happy to find fireflies inside and outside the cottage. I found foods are little expensive but quality is just great. So I think it is reasonable. Thank you everyone at the Fox and Firefly Cottages for making my Bohol travel really wonderful!

Relaxing riverside retreat”
I stayed in one of the beautifully furnished suites which had lots of space, a great outdoor bathroom, and a lovely balcony overlooking rice fields. While there's no A/C, a fan is provided and sufficient as the cottage is fairly cool once the sun goes down. The food and drinks in the restaurant are delicious and the staff always friendly, some even making a point to call me by name. Relaxing in the hammocks by the emerald green river was bliss. I enjoyed the background noise of the village by day and the animals by night. I would recommend Fox & Firefly to anyone visiting Bohol and would certainly stay here again.

Kind staff and very nice location”
I had the most restful sleep in one of their cottages. The food was good. I enjoyed every meal the wonderful staff prepared for me. And the standup paddle tour experience is one for the books! Exploring the scenic and peaceful Loboc River via SUP Tours is truly an unforgettable experience. I look forward to going back again and try the Firefly/Full Moon tour next.

We loved staying at the Fox and the Firefly Cottages. Great staff, restaurant and location. Close to Floating River Restaurants, Chocolate Hills and Tarsiers. Beautiful grounds. Easy to find from the main road.

In the middle of the Bohol's nature!”
The hotel is located near to the river, you sleep in bamboo cottages and the bathroom is outside. Our stay there make us realize that we didn't need anything else more to enjoy (except some San Miquel beer)! There's a lot to do in a few days: firefly watching, surf paddle, mountain bike, city tour with zipline! The people are very friendly and always willing to help! The food the host lady cook was delicious she should deserve a star for that. Only hard thing were the mosquito's at night but the hotel has a liquid for that. We would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I've only stayed in the cottages for one night but I think that's more than enough for me to be fully satisfied with my accommodation. The entire place gives off a warm calming vibe, especially with its strategic location in the middle of a natural paradise that is the Loboc River area. The dorm is okay and the beds are each equipped with its own mosquito net. It's very well ventilated as the cool evening breeze comes in as we sleep. It is unfortunate that I wasn't able to make the most out of this place but I hope I could get that chance when I return here in the near future.

Great atmosphere, value and experience”
Great value, lovely food all both the day and night time stand up paddle tours on the loboc river are truly worth then money. Rooms are decent and well priced. Food is simple but healthy and tasty. Scooters can be rented at ease. I went to just chill out in the jungle and this place is perfect for that. As there are few accommodations it is a bit quite, buy meeting people was easy enough.

Nice setting, very clean and you can see fireflies even in the garden of the hotel itself. Stand up paddle activity is fun. Location is easy to find, can just take jeepney from Taglibaran for P27 per person and ask to be dropped off at Loboc market, walk for 10 mins from the main road. Many mosquitos so insect repellent will be very useful. The outdoor toilet and shower room is very exotic and cool.

Lovely country cottages!”
We spent 4 days at this little oasis in Loboc. It was a great spot to explore the island from. You can rent motorbikes there, take SUP lessons and also do other SUP excursions. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious. My only suggestion would be to add some more hooks to the inside of the cottages to be able to hang stuff to dry and perhaps add a mirror to abouve the sinks. But they are clearly still working in the property so maybe that is in the plan for the future. The outdoor showers were divine too!

Crown jewel of Bohol and Loboc river”
Simply put, best hotel experience in a long time. The owners have really succeeded in building this small oasis in the middle of the forest with the beautiful river only 5 meters away. Lots of chill places around the hotel where you can just relax or use the free (and good) WiFi. Restaurant in the main building that serves nice food. Staff is wonderful. Stayed in the doorm-hut with 3 bunk beds. Small but very cozy. No boxes to lock in your bags but I just left my valuables at the front desk when heading out. Bathroom (shower under the clear sky, built like a waterfall) was the highlight of the stay. So brilliant! And super clean. If you're going to Bohol, you must try this place! Book in advance though, not many beds/rooms but more buildings are under construction as of this moment.

Beautiful place, lovely food”
We stayed here on a recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed. Perfectly located in Loboc to see all the sights and really enjoy the beautiful river. Paddle boarding was excellent. Spent the whole day on the river with an incredible lunch on their river deck. The staff are so friendly and the food is great too. They also have two adorable dogs. Could not fault this place!

The Best Stay in Loboc Bohol”
My stay was free pleasant, the staff is very friendly specially Mr. Fred the owner of the cottage, He is expanding by building an addition as a restaurant and a storage facility for his equipments. I would go back there but I would stay in private room instead of sharing the room cabin with people you do not know.

No negatives”
Stayed in the dorm room as a solo traveller. Loved everything about this property from the staff to the food and facilities. The property is quiet and relaxing but very accessible by public bus or you can rent a scooter from reception for a reasonable price. Great to have the ability to fill up my water bottle with filtered water instead of buying more plastic and and restaurant provides stainless steel straws rather than plastic. Would definitely stay here again. Compared to the craziness of Panglao and Alona Beach, I much preferred this laidback atmosphere.

This place is wonderful, we will return again anytime. The room was small, but it has everything you need to get away from the crowd. The food was amazing, we didn’t eat anywhere else our entire stay! The barlady makes the best cocktails, and the prices are great. This is a little piece of heaven!

Loved the Firefly Stand Up Paddleboarding!”
Staff were so accommodating and organized rides to and from the ferry and excursions at the last minute. Loved the stand up paddle boarding. Our guide was so friendly and even was so kind to take photos during the experience.

Lovely to be by the river”
We had a great time here. It is an adventure with outdoor bathrooms and grass chalets but worth it to be by the river. We saw fireflies nearby and had our first SUP experience which was superb. The restaurant is lovely and only one other couple was there so it was quiet and romantic.

Nice hostel, stay away during ongoing construction”
It is a nice hostel style guesthouse but right now there is construction work going on from 7am to 5pm which is really annoying for guests. We were not informed about this before our arrival. Otherwise nice firefly stand up paddling tour and nice staff that is very attentive.

Exceptional”
a great experience of living in a bungalow, we love everything in it including the shared shower that made the unforgetable impression of being close to the nature. The great hotel, would like to thank the owner.
