A disappointment.. ”
We read about this in lonely planet and were really excited to book this one in, however coming there we almost didn't feel welcome. The owner (Dave Parker himself we can only assume?) was the opposite of friendly and we didn't get a good feeling staying here at all. Yes, the view from the balcony isn't bad, in fact rather nice, but location wise it's very out of the way and the free daily shuttle again didn't give us a welcoming feeling and Dave was smoking inside the van the whole journey to Apia. The pool was full of drunk teens playing high music and with crushed glass on the floor in the pool area. We almost wanted to get out directly when we got there. Next time well support a local operator instead rather than this expat.

Really nice place on the top of Apia ”
This place is really nice, far away from town but Dave provide shuttle everyday morning and afternoon. Once your there it's Really peacefull and relaxing in the middle or lushing nature with birds, nice breeze and awesome view of the mountains around and Apia. Dave and all the staff at very friendly and helpful. Room nice and clean with small fridge and kettle wich is very convenient if you have your own food, otherwise the restaurant menu looks good! Go there if you want to avoid the heat and busy Apia

I love this place. Dave Parker was a great man to talk to the staff awesome. The food was awesome. The let down for me and my family was the cleanliness of the rooms.. Dave my suggestion to you is update your website with the correct phone number have your staff clean those rooms. Clean the mats in the rooms. That would make a huge difference. I still love your place but I would not stay there again unless your standard of cleanliness improved

Watch out for the payment”
Generally, we were satisfied with our stay at Dave Parker! It's far from the city center but since we rented a car, it was ok. The hotel overlooks the whole capital but is surrounded by beautiful vegetations! However, the payment went wrong when I booked this hotel. It was said on Agoda that the payment would be made at the property when I booked it. However, the hotel charged 2 months before I checked in and what was worse was that they over charged me 100 USD and they denied that!!! Though Agoda and Booking helped me with my refund at last, it was still a very unhappy and exhausting thing to deal with. It cost me a lot of time of phone calls!!!

It was ok with me being Samoan but the staff need to be professional not having babies crawling around and a nice uniform for staff will be a nice touch for our foreign visitors. Other than that great place and view, best bang for buck!

Nice lodge, shame about the location”
Very friendly staff who cooked nice food and the view from the restaurant was great. Pool tables present where staff were friendly enough to offer a game with. Cleanliness was okay. One problem was the location. If you don't have your own transport, forget about staying here. It's far away from everywhere!
