The room was quite clean, and so typical room / house of japan. Small but still comfortable. Mr. Kou, the owner, was very very kind too. He gave us a little gift when we check out. Thank you very much Mr. Kou 😊

Best Stay for our first Japan holiday 🤗”

We arrived late to the hostel and the reception staff was very kind in accomodating with ready hot drinks at the lobby. The building was not that modern but the rooms are equipped with Japan's known technology (automated toilet, heaters etc). There is a lounge and kitchen with massagers which were very helpful after our never ending walks around tokyo. We also met some other guests and made friends with some. Best part is staffs there are very helpful and kind. Definitely will come back and recommend this hostel to my friends ☺️

The location is a bit far from the metro (Minowa), but there are few supermarkets and convenient stores nearby! The hosts are very friendly and helpful, so warm to us!

Acceptable”

Quite dirty and smelly. Also a bit of a walk from the station, which might be difficult for those without any gps. I didn't even stay actually I booked another room because it was smelly. Also the sign doesn't say the same name as the booking. It says something vague like Tokyo Hostel making it even harder to find.

Friendly staff, nice room”

The hotel not too far from train station (need to walk around 600m). We experienced to live like nihonjin style (with tatami and room decoration 100% like japanese room). We forgot to ask the staff name but he was very nice and very helpful. For backpackers, we highly recommend you to stay at this hotel. 👍

this japanese room was nice, with bathroom inside and hot water include. But, the heater not running good, so cold in the winter night

hotel location and facilities value for money, friendly receptionist , can speak english , can guide where to go and assist for taxi service... highly recommended,, for improvement — receptionist not 24 hours available until 10 pm but sometimes extended to 11:30 pm .. If late arrival around 2 pm nobody will open the room.. For this case due to unavoidable flight schedule they must advice and provide the room number and let the door open .... Besides this case satisfied our stay for friendly receptionist...... TY

Exceptional”

We booked last minute and we checked in late and koichi-san was very helpful to assist us. This is near minowa station - 700m away from train. Has a convenience store nearby. Very big room for group booking with separate toilet and shower rooms. Will recommend this to my friends. Near sensoji temple. Don quixote asakusa.

Good option for Tokyo”

Internet was reliable. A good 20-25 minute walk from Ueno station. Use google earth maps if walking to find the best route. Ueno station area has good facilities and of course is good for travel, especially if you have a JR pass. Washing facilities are available as was bike rental. Private room was quite satisfactory. Not too small. Happy with my choice.

But every thing was just so old and dirty. The bed, bathroom and toilet looked okay but other facilities such as the washing machine, dryer and the computers were below acceptable. Some paper slide doors were broken. The kitchen even wrote sth like: wash the dishes by your own what a joke. And what's worse here: I am suspecting that the staff charged me another 8% consumption tax but sad that I don't have any receipt. So watch the bill carefully when you pay if you must stay there for some reasons.

The male staff will shouting at you from the corridor when he found something wrong with your team member (ladies & children) just because they first time & still learn about japan cultures. Horrible when you came from far far away country and find this man angry.

I had a hard time finding this hostel on my 1st dau, but while walking you will notice it is near grocery store, 7-11 and 10-min walk from subway. While walking going to Rox, I saw the Skytree Tower and the hostel is also near Sensoji. The front desk guy is so helpful answering my questions and giving suggestions where to buy the compact noodles (I didn't know there's a compact noodles) and he even walked with me to show where the bus stop going to the airport:-). Arigatou gozaimasu!
