Beautiful Hotel”
This brand new hotel has a very cool modern design. Walking into the entrance, there is a nice smell and calming music. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and most of not all speak multiple languages. This hotel is very popular with young people and international travellers. The room is awesome if you can get one with extra space, and we really liked the colours of the yukata provided. The hotel is very quiet as well. The air conditioning system was the easiest to use during our trip, and was available in 4 languages! There is a small onsen on the top floor with a wonderful view of the city, and I recommend going when it is not too busy but it was hard to find a time when the bath was not swarmed, even past midnight. However the area just outside is a nice quiet lounge with a nice view and free popsicles. Only minor criticisms would be that their restaurant is only open for limited times, so we never got a chance to try it although we understand why they limit the times. The elevator can have you waiting for quite a while. The sandal tags at the onsen are a bit confusing and a few times our sandals were taken. It would be better just to have room number tags put on them so you don’t have to sheepishly take someone else’s as replacement. Otherwise, the staff in the reception hall are wonderful and very kindly held our luggage for a few hours the day we left. I absolutely recommend this hotel for a nice break from the city. :)

Superbe”
Our only tiny complaint is the size of the room (smaller than expected). Still, you get used to it and the room is beautiful and clean. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was great. The onsen was amazing. My girlfriend and I used the onsen 4 times across our 4-night stay; it was that nice and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location in Shinjuku as well. The only difficulty might be that the hotel is so new that taxi drivers sometimes had a hard time finding it. Still, if we ever go back to Shinjuku, we would likely stay here again. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

Wonderful relaxing atmosphere in the middle of Tokyo”
We had a wonderful stay at Ryokan Yuen. We booked the smaller room since the bigger ones were already booked. The room was very clean and had a great view. It was indeed small but plenty of space for 2 people to move around in. The onsen is amazing and has a great view of Shinjuku. I also have to recommend the breakfast. It tasted amazing and fresh, and it was a real experience. Next time we're in Tokyo we'll definitely book here again.

Traditional + Modern Paradise”
Gorgeous traditional Japanese design themes expressed in modern austere style. Every detail polished to perfection. Pictures don't do this hotel justice. Incredible 18th-floor views of Tokyo from within the rooftop ofuro (hot tub), and in the zen relaxation room. A real design triumph. Westerners with little experience in Tokyo will complain that the rooms are too small. Ignore those reviews. Come to terms with Japanese scale and enjoy this oasis. Note that most of the guests are foreigners, many of whom don't know how to use a Japanese onsen. If you are looking for a more authentic local onsen experience, head to a more traditional ryokan (inn) elsewhere in an onsen region such as Ikaho, Kustatsu, Hakone, etc. A note for families: this hotel's sophisticated atmosphere would be wasted on kids. Parents parents might want to opt for something a little more "family friendly" (especially those travelling to Japan for the first time).

New Clean Modern Hotel with Onsen on site. Awesome restaurant on the first floor and friendly staff”
Very modern, clean friendly staff. Spa Onsen on the 18th Floor is a great plus. Fresh spa robe with socks and slippers provided daily with light snack and water delivered daily. The room for 2 is on the small side for US standards. The room for 4 Is perfect for a couple. It’s worth paying more the bigger room.

Wonderful stay at a very zen boutique hotel with amazing design!”
One of the best designs I've ever seen in a Japanese hotel. Rooms are typically small but they designed to use the space to its max that you don't even feel that the room is that small. Gorgeous signages and brand design (love the concept of connecting storylines with the line) throughout the hotel. The hotel is extremely zen and calm - once you step inside, you're met with calming music that transports you to another world. Wonderful staff who speaks English and are very helpful. Accommodated all our needs professionally. Relatively new hotel I believe, so things are very clean and nice. Onsen (hot bath) was a lovely thing to have at the hotel, with both outdoor and indoor onsens (and amazing city view!). Location was a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station (around 15minutes) but located in a very lovely small street. The closest subway exit should be E1 instead of C7 though, more walk underground but with lift so don't need to carry luggage up the stairs. A wonderful stay!

Stylish hotel with exceptional customer service”
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Service was amazing, staff spoke english (thankfully as I hadn't unfortunately learnt any Japanese). Hotel was very stylish and calming. Great location - 15 -20 min walk to Shinjuku Station. 7 ELEVEN across the road. Onsen was fabulous. Rooms are on the smaller size, but beautifully presented with all the amenities you need. Cant comment on food as we didnt eat at the hotel, though you can book traditional meals if you wish. Hotel very accomodating and were happy to hold our luggage until our flight later in the day. Would absolutely recommend this place!

A beautiful gem in Shinjuku”
Love everything about this hotel. It’s within walking distance to the Shinjuku station but completely far away from the crowds. Newly opened, the hotel has a very elegantly designed. Staff are super nice. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. The roof top Onsen is highly recommended. Love the free ice blocks. Would definitely go back.

I am really happy that I visited here during my trip and the staffs are very helpful and informative”
I was thinking about have chirashi sushi for few months before my trip. Then, I asked a staff but I made a mistake by asking her recommendation of “sarashi sushi”. It’s quite embracing but the lady didn’t laugh at me for that. Though, I went to have cake buffet after our conversation. It’s priceless happy experience that I had from here. Besides, I learned how to correctly say something that I like to eat.😂)

Cozy stay perfect for those who want to escape from daily stress”
The environment of the whole place was very quiet and comfortable. My luggage's roller is the only thing that was noisy. Staffs were super friendly. Onsen on the top floor with city view is simply too amazing. Will definitely consider Onsen Ryokan Yuen Shinjuku again for my future visit!

Loved this hotel. Would stay here again! ”
This place was so nice. The rooms were on the small side but that is to be expected in Japan. There was no closet space. However the Onsen on the top floor was amazing, staff super nice, and everything was super clean. Would stay here again.

surprise to me, they have onsen (hot spring) free to the guests”
Surprise to me, they have onsen (hot spring) free to the guests, and it has nice city view as well on top of the building. Super clean (but typical small Japanese-size) room, and very nice and professional staff. 15min away from Shinjuku station. Very recommended!

Modern spa resort style hotel ”
Went above my expectations. Decor reminds me of Muji-very elegant, clean lines, minimalist/Scandinavian, Japanese. The breakfast was great and very traditional Japanese. The Ryokan / Spa is by far the best part. An outdoor bath pool and an indoor bath pool, a series of seated shower stalls. Felt amazing sitting in the outdoor steaming bath while it was lightly drizzling outside. And all you can eat popsicles! Honestly, you could stay here all day without needing to go anywhere - that's why it feels more like a resort. Also comes with two sets of Kimonos and socks for your flip flops. Very good bang for your buck. Definitely bookmarking this for next trip.

Affordable with excellent amenities ”
The hotel is about 15minutes away from Shinjuku station. The onsen was a great place for relaxation after a long day of walking. The room was clean. The entire hotel makes me feel at peace and relaxed.

Zen in the city!”
Absolutely loved our stay here! It was so peaceful and relaxing, especially in the bustling city. We were meant to stay 3 nights but due to flight delays we only managed to make it for 1 night. We will have to come back again! We stayed in the double room and while it was small, it felt very comfortable. There were so many details that we enjoyed such as the tatami floors and comfortable bed, and the tea and dessert set in the room. We also loved the onsen and visited both at night and in the morning. The night time onsen is lovely as you can see a view of the city and enjoy complimentary popsicles! We only have good things to say and hope we can come back again soon!

Most Relaxing Stay ”
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our 5 nights here. The bamboo-lined passage way leading to the entrance is a nice touch, bringing about much tranquility. We also found ourselves looking forward to our nightly visits to the hotel’s onsen with a stunning view of the cityscape. It is quite a walk (about 10 min) from the nearest subway station but totally worth it!

My favourite hotel in all of Japan!”
This place surpassed our expectations. A modern designer twist to traditional Japanese inns. The rooms are amazing with treats, the architecture of the lobby is amazing, and the Olsen on the roof is a class of its own. Truly wonderful. I recommended this place to my friends coming to Tokyo, and I have a lot of friends.

Beautiful hotel and facilities ”
The only negative was the room was quite small. Not enough space for luggage or storage. The rooftop onsen and facilities were spectacular. Perfect location, 10min walk to Shinjuku station. There was a 7/11 across the road which was also very convenient at times. Plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
