Great place if you're traveling on a budget, very cheap. Beach and great snokelling close by, Charles bar just across the road and Aunty June is super helpful and very knowlegable about the local area. Thanks Aunty June see you soon!

Room for improvement ”
Check-in. I had no instructions about what to do on arrival, there is no reception and there was no sign of anyone around. I eventually made my way upstairs past a growling dog to find someone to be told my room wasn't ready. I came back an hour later - it was ready, although the bathroom could have been cleaned better. My room wasn't serviced the 9 days I was there - no change of linen, no cleaning, garbage wasn't emptied. The facilities within the apartment were reasonable and met my expectations. Enjoyed using the kayak.

Understanding that their is a staff shortage on the island, the basics like basic kitchen equipment was lacking! House was grubby, dishes in cupboards greasy!! In need of a spruce up!!

Good stay on a budget ”
Beautiful garden scenery all around. The beach is just across the road but isn’t visible from the apartments. I was on the bottom floor and the room was very big with a lot of outside space too. The room is old and the shower takes a while to go warm but for the price we paid it isn’t bad. There’s only two places that I saw that you can grab food from within a walkable distance and they aren’t open all week but the bus stop is literally right outside on the road so that was a plus. It was very hard to get in contact with the lady who owns it but luckily this wasn’t an issue as it wasn’t an urgent matter. I would recommend for anyone on a budget not looking for anything fancy.

A good place to travel on a budget and still enjoy beautiful Rarotonga”
Just as i said on the title, Raina beach apartments are perfect stay for people on a budget plan. You can expect facilities according to the price. It is basic apartment but it has all the nesessities in it, wifi spot, telephone, bathroom, mini fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, parking area outside. A beautiful snorkelling beach right accross the road, and as far as we tried other beaches, this one was the best for snorkelling. Small conviniece store just 3 mins away from the place and it open till very late. from Raina apartments its about 20 mins walk from to famous Muri beach and a night market, cafes, rentals, activities, etc. We travelled in July and unfortunately could not book a car, all cars were gone and we had no other choise but to travel by bus, because i dont have a scooter license either. Its easy to go by bus everywhere, bus comes every hour and stops rights outside the Raina apartment. Charlies cafe and a garden cafe very close to Raina apartments too. We were lucky, weather was great in the week we stayed and we basically swam every day on the beach, snorkelling, and when weather wasnt good we spent a day at Club Raro resort, used the pool there and had a delicious lunch. Actually, few resorts allow walk in service if you eat inside, like Rarotongan, Edgewater and Rarotongan. Maybe some other places too, just call and find out 🙂 i would stay again at Raina apartment but book a car a well in advance before coming..... Nearly forgot to mention Mama June (the owner of the place who stays in another block of the apartment) makes healing and beauty oils from local plants. They are great!!! I bought a few and they are wonderful products. Thank you so much for having us at Raina apartments, we had a wonderful holiday.

We loved our stay. The apartment was unbelievably spacious, much more than we expected. Plenty of room to hang out washing, 2 balconies and a lovely central area to relax. The garden views from our room were great and the garden is wonderful to walk around in. Swimming is great across the road and the snorkelling areas across the road Excellent value for money.

The only thing I wasn’t happy with is the local roosters crowing at all hours of the night and day. I’ve never heard so many and was a little annoying especially at 4am

We enjoyed our stay at Raina Apartments, it was pretty much like we expected, it is located at one of the best parts of the island, and also there is a bar just a few meters away (Charlie's) where you can enjoy really good food, coctails and beer! The staff was friendly and very helpful. If we decide to go back to Raro one day, we will choose Raina Apartments for sure.

The place is in a very good location and just not even a minute away from stunning beach! Our apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The place was clean-ish. However I think the owner could spend a bit money on it... but the overall experience was good.

Close to excellent beach for swimming and snorkeling. Right next to island bus busstop. Be aware the roosters in the area go off at any time of day or nite so sometimes even so it is quiet hard to get shut eye

Unorganised chaos”
Arrived to the property to checkin at 12, arrived at the apartment block. No office had to try find someone to assist us in checking in. Finally someone was found, was directed to the actual beach house which was a few driveways away which if was not escorted would have been hard to locate ourselves. Shown the property and advised payment will be made tomorrow? Which was unusual when online was advised to make payment at the property upon checkin. The next day received a receipt of payment charged to my credit card? No communication or option was given to pay cash or credit? Entered property floors wet and saturated with dust? Property smelt dusty, tables smeared with water not clean could still see wipe marks, towels dirty no pride taken. There was also an annoying kitten that was the properties next to us that would constantly cry to come inside which was an annoying obstacle to avoid as the kitten would follow us everywhere unable to eat on the deck. Called the main office to advise a screw came loose in the sliding door blocking the path of the sliding door to close, was advised there is nothing i can do everyones gone home for the day someone will be there tomorrow morning to fix it. Was also advised by the receptionist on the phone that I had under-paid as i requested a late check out? Which was new to me. I was advised a payment of $60.00 needs to be made. This was unnecessary as no such request was made plus a receipt for full payment was already given. Waited for someone the next day no one showed to fix the door. Was unable to lock the property for 2days had to lock valuables in the rental vehicle. The lack of communication and professionalism shown from this property was just unbelievable? Will not recommend or stay here again.

Good spot”
The reviews here are very mixed, we were unsure what we would be treated with when we arrived! We were staying in the one bedroom house and it was huge! king bed plus a single, quiet area with a few gecko and cockerels to make some noise but nothing too bad. Nice spot 2 min walk to the beach, 2 km from Muri beach. We would stay here again.

I suspect the people leaving bad reviews are used to staying in luxury resorts. If you're travelling on a budget, Raina Beach Apartments is a great place to base yourself. The room was enormous, it's in a great location with a beach nearby and a delicious food truck to pick up fish sandwiches for lunch, and the staff were very welcoming. One of my favourite places I stayed in the Cook Islands.

I would not recommend staying at Raina Beach Apartments to anybody. I arrived on the 9.15pm flight, I had to look for the location of the house, even a local couldn't find it after finding it in the dark. The house felt creepy amd was bery dusty. I am very lucky that I had family their as Ioved out the same day that I moved in. The worst place ever, it looked nothing like the pictures on the internet. This place needs to pick up their game or close down. Very unsatisfied customer.

Unfortunately the rat infestation left an unbearable odour, we had to leave the next day Thus created a drama for us having to leave after being settled and broke our peace for a rest Getting the money refunded was also a drama and should have been all money back due to great inconvenience and us Being put in an unsavoury position to relocate etc THe pictures in the site were misleading. Need updating The entry was way below standiard ...muddy and smelt of pigs. and the proximity to the beach disillusioning ...when one orders via the Internet the pictures need to be very clear. when I tried to get a refund it was like the daughter who handled the finances put everything back on us instead of jumping to help Not what we would normally expect in hospitality industry

The apartment is very roomy with double and single beds, cooking facilities and a fridge.It is over the road from a good swimming and snorkelling beach. The apartments are a bit tired, but clean. The staff are friendly. It is a good place to stay and cook your own food. If you are not wanting a 5-star resort then this apartment is perfectly adequate.

I only booked this place as I messed up on the International date line and couldn't get into the hotel where I was staying for the orginial 5 nights booked. I'm sorry to report but this place needs pulling down and/or a total refurbishment, everything inside is just so old and so, so tired. The owner was very friendly, advising us that she had stored her mangoes in our fridge freezer (the rest of the rooms were unoccupied so why not store them there? Unless she had kilos & kilos of frozen mangoes?)and the bedding was clean.

We had a great stay. When leaving for the airport, we somehow missed our taxi--I saw it driving away down the road and could not catch it. But June got a young lad who worked at the apartment out of bed to drive us to the airport in time for our flight

Fun group holiday in basic budget accommodation ”
Simple budget room that sleeps 6 people. Worked out very cheaply and was great to have a kitchen. Beach is just across the road and quiet private. The BBQ area on the roof was excellent for drinks under the stars. The gardens were beautiful and rooms cleaned daily. Was nice to have one private room as part of 4 beds. Fans were noisy n some noise from road.
