Ryokan avec chambres traditionnelles”

Bien placé à côté du Parc Ueno. A 5 minutes de la station JR. On peut emprunter 2 chemins pour accéder au ryokan : le premier plus court contourne le parc et le second traverse le parc en sortant côté université mais permet de traverser les quartiers résidentiels typiques (comme une impression d'entrer dans un manga. En chemin vers la pension des mimosas pour ceux qui connaissent :D ). Le quartier de Ueno est top. Tous les restaurants donnent envie de pousser la porte ! C'est animé et bon marché. On peut se promener direction sud jusqu'à Akihabari facilement et se retrouver dans le quartier des geeks en peu de temps. Nous avions une chambre avec sdb privée : simple, propre, sommaire mais typique. Les portes coulissantes sorties de mangas ne sont pas très isolantes mais les futons sont confortables. Il y a une fontaine d'eau, des boisssons chaudes, des brosses à dents, des cure-dents et des rasoirs à disposition ainsi qu'un petit frigo commun. L'accès après 22h se fait par code.

An unique experience. Felt spacious . Surprisingly comfortable. Good location - so close to Ueno park and subway stations. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended, especially for families with children.

Not many places to eat though... Pretty close to three stations, but though they and the park may seem very close on the map, walking around in the morning sun will quickly make you uncomfortable. Just don't go in summer. You would want to go in spring anyways cause the blooming of the flowers and other things... If you'd want to have a bike to go around in, just go to hotel Graphy (Nezu).

Friendly, helpful owners. We had a clean, comfortable triple room & private bath. Quiet, mostly residential older neighborhood. 15-20 minutes walk to Ueno Station. Keihei direct train, Narita to Ueno. Easy walk to to Ueno Park & museums & Yanaka. Handy convenience store across the street. Enjoyed our stay & would definitely go back.

I live the traditional Japan style house and room. My kids were very exciting as it looks like the house in Doraemon. It takes 15 mins from JR station and 5 mins from Metro station. The price is reasonable. It was a very good traveling experience. Highly recommend who likes Japanese style room.

Staying here for 2 nights, the staff is very kindness and helpful, the room is clean and quiet feel Japanese style, good location to Nezu subway by walking 5 minuets. Would love to stay again.

2 minutes to busstop, 7 minutes no nezu metro. Only one toilet and one shower for everybody, an open washbasin for all your doings except shower . No breakfast but a good little shop just opposite. Can recommend it for people who are not fussy

Fantastic traditional option”

If you are a foreigner looking to try the Japanese way of life, this Ryokan is a great start. Yes, the beds are comfortable. Ceilings are a bit low if you are tall; just remember to duck! Hosts are fantastic; though their English is limited, you'll get along fine. They offered us some cherries grown by a neighbor. In the weekdays, we were the only ones there, so it was like having our own place. Good location, 5 minutes to Nezu subway, 15 to Ueno subway. Lots of great local breakfast options nearby, convenience store ("conbini") across the street. Quiet, safe area. You'll observe lots of school children walking to school and commuters on their way to work. A perfect break from the craziness of the tourist spots.

It was good. The weather was not so good that time so, it was very cold I turned on the heater though it makes so dry.... BUT!! Overall everything was very nice:)

Nice traditional Ryokan”

Feeling like local to stay at Ryokan Katsutaro, clean, many help from staff even not a very good english speaking accent. Near bus stop Taito city loop bus 100yen. From Ueno station is only 730 Yen by taxi. Walk by mere 10-15 minutes through park. Need to be quiet to mind other.
