Great value”
A nice little hotel in the lively Hamra neighbourhood of Beirut. Room was clean and comfortable, all staff were professional and very helpful, there's a really nice lobby bar which doubles as a breakfast room (with outdoor seating) and a choice of three set breakfasts. Hotel also offers airport pickup/drop-off for a $20 charge which is very reasonable. During my three nights here there were only two power outages, both lasting 30 minutes, both on the same night and at around 4-5am and signage throughout the hotel advises about this. Lots of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance and there's a main shopping street a couple of blocks over if you need to pick up things or go to the currency exchange. Recommended and would definitely stay here again!

Au-dessus de la moyenne”
The location is great. Room was clean. Price was fair. But to charge for a water bottle which is always free, that's not nice and to charge 10 times its price is unacceptable.

Better go for other hotels”
Nicely located in Al Hamra. The hotel is an exhausted building with old furniture. The carpet looked very old and dirty. The only smiling person is the bellman who looked so nice. I inquired about an iron before arrival and I was told it is available upon request. We found out that it is available only in the morning.

Helpful friendly staff. A value for money price. Taxis readily available. Excellent food and a pleasant bar. All in all a good hotel, reasonably priced and in a good location. Fourth stay with more to follow.

Lady on front desk needs training on how to be polite with guests”
Unfortunately my interactions with a member of staff on leaving ruined my trip. I had taken chocolate from the mini bar and replaced it with the same, this was not accepted, so I needed to pay for the chocolate. I did so but asked for the replacement back. It was brought back to me, half eaten by staff. When I said this, the lady on the front desk denied it and said it was me. She seriously needs to be taught the damage she is doing by speaking to guests in that manner. I went straight away and looked into cancelling my follow up stay I had booked due to her impoliteness.

Excellent service!”
We arrived early in Beirut and wanted a place to rest as one of us were taken in. Requested to check-in early at 8am and by 8.30am the room was ready for us. The male counter staff (didn’t manage to get his name) was very efficient and polite. Room was basic but clean with a very nice washroom. Bed was exceptionally comfy. We managed a 5 hours rest before we checked-out on the same day to continue our Beirut journey. Definitely an excellent start to our trip. Thank you for the superb service!

Photos did not match room”
Very disappointed with our experience. Photos looked great until we saw it with our own eyes. In real life the room was very old not modern at all compared the photos. Automatically felt disgusted walking in. Breakfast buffet nothing like the photos aswell. Horrible

Very much for the money”
Located only 2 min from Hamra Str. The building from the 70ies but in very good condition with very spacious public areas; 2 nice and comfortable lobby areas - one with PC and printer and luggage lockers, a very large and coosy bar and a spacious roof top sitting/resting area with a bar and a small pool. No fuss but spacious bedroom with fully modern and spot clean and fully equipped bathroom. I have stayed at several similar hotels in this area but The Mayflower is the one that by far has given me the most for the money. Will certainly stay there again and can highly recommend it.

minimalism pure”
The carpets are totally dingy. Friends of mine who paid the same as I did not get breakfast but I did. Separate breakfast costs an outrageous $12. While paying with my card the reception guy was looking directly at my pin code - I called him on it. The bathroom is shabby. The rooftop closes at 7 pm already. The elevator is sweltering. The breakfast room is hot and stuffy. The minibar drinks cost 3 times more than in Co-op next door. Airport pickup costs $33 but normal price is $20. This place is living on its colorful past. The breakfast waiters are very good, as is the room staff. The reception people are lousy. Do not stay at the Mayflower.

Lovely vintage hotel in a great area. Staying at this hotel felt like going back in time. Some reviews complain about the dated rooms, but I found them really charming. It's easy to imagine that you're staying in Beirut in it's heyday in the 60's. Walking distance to loads of nice restaurants, cafes, and bars. About a 20 minute walk to pigeon rock. Breakfast is simple. As a vegan, there wasn't much for me to each besides bananas, but the coffee was nice. Will stay again during our next trip to Beirut.

Good hotel”
This is a good hotel for the price, I always feel safe here and the staff are so nice, the location is good too and rooms probably could do with a big clean but still loved it!
