A very quiet neighborhood”

It was indeed good that we booked for 12 days in this hotel. It is relatively cheap considering its location. Its near Suidobashi Station of the JR line. It was a very relaxing stay, we booked for a room with three beds. It was big enough for all our luggages. The English speaking hotel staffs are also a plus. The breakfast is also cheap but very hearty. We will definitely recommend the place to our friends..

I booked this place because of free parking but upon check in, reception staff told us that they had just adjusted with a fee of 1000 yen. Your website is not updated, this is not fair for us. Are we able to get a refund? This property is too old and too run down.

Nice hotel, value for money”

A simple budget hotel within the university area of Tokyo. Location is great, quiet, very near restaurants, JR station, Ochanomizu & Jimbocho subway stations. Breakfast included in our reservation was simple yet satisfying (they made us choose from 4 sets). Since my husband is a guitar collector, we had an easy way of getting to the stores in Ochanomizu street which is about 10 minutes away from the hotel if you take the shortcut at the back (about 100 step stairs & quite an exercise). The hotel is old, simple, carpet has stains but clean. And since we only use the hotel for sleeping & for freshening up, we didn't mind the carpet & small toilet that it has. Staff are very helpful, courteous, knows how to speak in English, rooms are cleaned up daily. All in all, we are very satisfied & happy with it, and if ever we go back to tokyo we'll stay again in this hotel.

Walking from Suidobashi (水道橋) metro+JR station took about 10 mins. The rooms were moderate and a bit old. There were 3 beds in my room. The hotel staff can speck in English. There are 1 convenience store near by, but no supermarket within the area. Moderate breakfast costed 800 Yen per head.

Value for money and great location”

Being a first time tourist in Tokyo, i found YMCA an ideal hotel for solo traveler. Besides location and good price, customer service is excellent. There is always someone ready to help in whatever way they can to make your stay memorable.

Hotel facillities at a hostel price”

This is a great budget hotel. I got an ensuite room with breakfast and 24 hour reception for the price I would expect to pay for a hostel where those things would be rare. The rooms were slightly tired and thats all you are losing out compared to a modern hotel chain like Chisun/Solare hotels. If its your first time in Japan you should know that the rooms are very small and the beds quite hard but if you have been before you'll know this is common with low budget hotels. There are two stations within walking distance. I recommend using Ochanomizu even though its further as the train lines it serves are more convenient for getting around tokyo. I'd definately look to stay here again if the price was the same as this time.

I'm not aware of any other centrally-located hotel in this price range. That is a major plus. And the staff is always courteous. However, there was a bad smell coming from the toilet during my stay. Also, the wallpaper on the ceiling was hanging down. The hotel was aware of the situation because they had one section tacked into place. Also, the wifi coverage is poor.

Internet accessibility is an important criterion for me in choosing hotels. This hostel does not provide cable connection in room. I could not get connected to WiFi with my mobile phone. Too bad!
