THE place to stay in UB”
A bit difficult to find the first time but very good position just behind Peace Tower. The owners (two brothers) are very helpful, caring for their hosts, speak perfect English. Much space at disposition for reading, cooking, eating (tea, coffee for free 24h) and talking to other guests and sharing experiences. A few rooms with private bathrooms, others with (very clean) bathrooms to share. Storage place to leave luggage when taking a few days tour. A VERY good adress to stay for sure.

Super hostel, accueillant et central”
Très bon accueil du manager, qui nous a aidés à prendre nos billets pour le transsiberien. Personnel serviable, petit déjeuner efficace. Les chambres sont agréables, ainsi que les espaces communs, les salles de bains communes vastes et très propres. Le tout est bien chauffé, ce qui est essentiel en hiver !

great hostel with friendly owner! sums up!!”
my first stay in ulanbataar couldn't be a blast without this hostel. the hostel owner was super friendly and speaks fluent english. the property was cozy and neat, real quiet but only 5 minute walking distance from nomin dept. the property was well-maintained and room was kept in comfortable temperature 24/7 in freezing winter. they were unable to offer breakfast, but room rate was reasonable enough. it seemed that no cleaning was made during my 4 nt stay, but it was fine for me and actually, it made the hostel "home away from home" more . i already miss the hostel and wonder when i'll be staying at that hostel again.

The Best Hostel in Ulaanbaatar”
I usually don't care much for hostels. The type of travellers I meet at these types of accommodations are usually lacking in character and highly endogamous. You are also highly likely to encounter Western Inteligence and their gap-year legacy at such places. An experienced traveler, I've encountered this all over the world. This description usually fits the proprietors of such establishments as well. Considering my experience with such establishments and their clientelle, I can genuinely recommend Zaya Hostel to any ordinary traveller as a safe and well run establishment. It is clean, comfortable and is well managed most of the time. However, as with all hostels, is best to book as a group.

Central location and friendly staff”
Hostel is quite centrally located in the shopping centre of Ulan Baatar. Lots of pubs and food options nearby. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are quite basic but clean and good value for money.

Great staff, clean and conveniently located place”
The staff are great and speak good English. They told us about the best place to exchange money and about things to do in Ulaanbaatar. They have very convenient and reasonably priced pick up and laundry services. The rooms are very clean. The only con was that we had booked a private room with bathroom but the hot water was not working on those days. However, there was another shower available outside the room which was not busy when we wanted to use it.

Great hostel. Spotlessly clean. Close to city centre. Good simple breakfast. Cheap laundry service. Very secure and friendly. We got upgraded to a double room with ensuite. Offer a cheap laundry service. Met lots of fellow travellers who were using the trans Mongolian train. Highly recommended.

일단 백화점 근처여서 접근성이 좋습니다. 직원분들이 굉장히 친절하시고 침구나 시설도 매우 청결합니다. 트윈룸에는 개인화장실이 없는데 공용화장실이 깨끗하고 여러 개여서 불편함은 느끼지 못했습니다. 투어 끝나고 여기서 다시 하루 머물고 있는데 더블룸에는 개인화장실이 있어서 좋네요. 몇 천원 차이 안나니까 더블룸으로 하시는 게 좋을 것 같아요. 조식도 괜찮아요. 가성비 갑입니다~!~!~!~!

the hostel is apartment style, you'll have your own room, so good privacy. and the bathroom is just shared between 2 rooms, and it's clean, big and modern. the room, common area and dining area are clean, comfortable and tidy. the staff can speak English and very friendly.

One of the best accommodations I've had...ever”
I didn't have a hard time choosing an affordable hotel in Ulaanbaatar. The moment I saw Zaya Hostel in the top search results and read its reviews, I was sold. And based on my personal experience, it was easy to understand why. Upon arriving, I was eagerly welcomed by its manager, Anand. He speaks great English and always checks up on the guests. He toured me first around the hostel and gave me helpful tips before going out of the city. The hostel also offers great tours, so if you don't have any tours booked yet, you don't have to book online or look elsewhere. The tour that I got was a full-day Terelj National Park tour (normally 150$ to 200$ in tour sites), which I got at a discounted price (45$) because we had a larger group. The breakfast was great as you'll be able to help yourselves with the food and drinks available. Water is free so you don't need to buy outside. The room I got was big for 1-2 persons. It was warm and cozy inside, and the WiFi is okay! Two thumbs up!

Great Hostel for Foreigners ”
The owner of Zaya knows a lot about traveling in Mongolia. The rooms are very very clean and the hostel provides a common area for guests which makes the place feel just like home. Great location too!
