Great location, great tour guide”
Over all stay was great, I was skeptical at first with all the images shown in the description, but upon arrival me and my partner were actually quite impressed. Viet Le our tour guide was great, he really made the trip that much better with his kindness and knowledgeable experience. The pick up from the hotel was great, the bus came on time and it was very professional. The 3 hour or so ride to Halong bay was accompanied by a stop over + rest station. Once we arrived at the bay we were transferred from a smaller boat to the galaxy cruise. Once we checked into our rooms lunch was served. The itinerary listed in the description was exactly it. Although a great experience, they should allow us to spend more time on the kayaks. The kayaking experience around the floating villages and islands was breathtaking. Great trip, great tour guide, once again I would like to thank Viet Le our guide for the trip.

Well maintained boat, fun tour guides, good price”
we were looking for a cruise that wasn't terribly expensive (like indochina) but with relatively nice rooms and good food and galaxy was a good choice. the boat was well-maintained and our tour guide was very reliable and friendly. and halong bay is always breath-taking (although it can get crowded with junk boats these days). we went kayaking and visited a huge cave that's part of what makes halong bay one of the wonders of the world. i'd recommend this cruise to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in halong bay (it's not a party boat).

A real bargain considering what you get”
Halong Bay is fabulously beautiful and the Galaxy Cruise is a great way to experience it. Included in the price is pick up at your hotel in Hanoi in a comfortable van, excellent meals on board, a very nice stateroom, a cave tour, kayaking, swimming, karaoke, and lots of photo ops. If you stay two nights, you get different excursions the second day. All-in-all, a great deal and probably one of the highlights of your Southeast Asian trip.

Friendly Service & Memorable Trip”
We stayed on the Galaxy Cruise boat for 2 evenings and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Halong Bay. Our cabin was well maintained, even though we initially had a problem with our toilet (which was fixed promptly). The amount of food we ate on board was plentiful, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There was a family on our same trip who complained about this tour, but they weren't involved with the rest of the guests and kept to themselves. They complained about the food and their cabin but it seems like the rest of the guests were satisfied as we were. Our guide was wonderful, and gave us so much insight to Vietnamese culture and history. We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour so long as you are willing to have an open mind and realize you are on a junk and not in a 5-star hotel. Highly recommended.

Great boat”
we booked for halong galaxy cruise but when we arrived in the port, we are transferred to dragon king cruise, but our tour guide assured us that the two boats belong in the same company. we really enjoyed our stay in the boat. we did many array of activities, we explore the amazing surprise cave, enjoyed kayaking and singing karaoke during the night together with the very cool staff. we are also served with delicious food in enough portion for all of us. I must say, all the staff and crew are all amazing, especially our tour guide, Thang. Thang is really friendly, attentive, patient and dedicated in his job. Halong bay is truly God's wonderful creation, and you will be blown away by its natural beauty.

Great day- not great weather”
We had a great time at Halong bay, however if we knew the weather would be bad we maybe wouldn't have spent the money staying on the over night boat. During the night there was a huge storm which really freaked me out and it ruined the second day for me because I was so tired! I know that no one can help the weather but I wished we checked before hand because I don't feel it was worth nearly 200 pounds for the trip! We also has to pay 25 USD each for pick up and drop off which I hoped was included in the price! The activities are fun however the 'hike and swim' wasn't what I was expecting! It was very packed and the water which was cornerd off for swimming was dirty and smelt like wee! It was full of people and wasn't the picturesque image I had before we got there! My group did a mini version of Halong bay which is a day trip from Hanoi. It is on a river and you get to have and hour and a half boat trip on a tiny little rowing boat for two (extremely romantic) then bike ride for about 40 mins. We also went to an old temple and had lunch near by! Very good food!! This was all included in the price along with pick up and drop off! The day trip cost us 20 pounds each!!!! It was awesome! Myself and my partner wish we didn't go to Halong bay now because it was so expensive and we enjoyed the other trip better! I don't want to sound too negative because it was a good trip! If the weather was better, transfers included and if their wasn't so many tourist we would feel a lot better about the trip. BEST PART OF THE TRIP WAS THE TOUR GUIDE TOM! HE WAS FANTASIC!

Wonderful Experience”
we had a wonderful 1 night 2 day cruise on halong bay the facilities were fantastic, with beautiful views from our bedroom and from dining room and the food amazing! the whole trip was organized to the minute and full with activities- kayaking, visiting caves, exploring floating village... the staff were extremely attentive and friendly and completed the experience. overall the cruise was certainly worth the money. thanks for hung - our tour guide, he did a very good job, thanks for all staff on galaxy. definitely come back again!!

Great boat and staff”
After much debate, my husband and I decided on the 2 days, one night stay on the Galaxy. It was just the right amount of time. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in an air conditioned mini bus. The ride out was ok. It was definitely a full 4 hours of travel and at points bumpy, and we did stop at a complete tourist trap half way through. But that’s to be expected. It’s important to note that all the boats in Halong Bay are now painted white, so the dark wood photos you see are over a year old. The boat itself was very clean and modern. There was a rain shower in our cabin and the bed was very comfortable. If dark wood is your thing, you’ll love this boat. The food was abundant and some of it very good. The only thing that we didn’t really care for was the group seating. There was no choice. Our tour guide, Vic, was great. Very knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy his job. The staff on board are friendly too. The entire trip is very commercialized and there are thousands of other tourists doing the same exact thing at the same exact time as you, but I guess that’s the price you pay to see a world wonder.

Fun and active with comfortable cabins”
We stayed on the Galaxy Premium Cruise in the honeymoon suite on the 10th December which was beautifully decorated with long stemmed roses and rose petals. The cabin had large picture windows so you had wonderful views of Halong as you cruised. The staff were friendly with a good sense of humour and also very informative, Viet was an excellent guide. We would definitely recommend others to stay on the Galaxy Premium Cruise - and also encourage you to take part in the kayaking, even if it seems a little nippy in the morning, you soon warm up and it's great fun!

very pleasant stay with great activities”
We joined the overnight Halong Bay cruise. we were promptly picked up at our hotel and joined the other travelers on a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to Halong. As there were only 9 of us, we got to spend a lot of time getting to know the other travelers. Our guide, Happy was very enthusiastic, and was eager to share his knowledge about Vietnam, Hanoi and Halong. The activities were fun- sightseeing around Surprise cave and kayaking around the bay, early morning tai-chi, etc. Learning to make spring rolls for our lunch was a good opportunity to bond with others. And the food was very good, too. Just remember to bring water and snacks before you board, as they can be expensive on the cruise. The best part was because we were a small group, there was a lot of time to just sit around and relax peacefully on the sun deck. The only disappointing thing was we did not get to swim as much as we wanted because of the weather and swimming in most areas was prohibited. But overall, a fantastic experience!

Lovely Cruise with Good Meals”
We were picked up from our hotel promptly in the morning and the Tour Leader, Viet was cheerful and helped us with our luggages onto the bus. Viet has a good command of English and is cheerful and passionate with his work,this could be judged from his knowlwdge not only on Halong Bay but Hanoi as a whole. Programmes went accordinly to plan and the quality of flood served over the 4 meals ( Lunch, Dinner,Breakfast, Lunch ) exceeded our expectation. The cooking classs was fun with everyone participated and we had the opportunity to taste the spring rolls prepared by ourselves. Overall, would recommend Galaxy to friends especially with Viet around. P/s : Drinks sold on board are pricy. Would suggest each meal to be complimented with tea and coffee.

Great cruise”
halong galaxy cruise was an awesome experience. the staff were really friendly and helpful, always smiling. the food was amazing and there was so much of it! the scenery and activities were top notch and the weather incredible!!! the only downside is that the government has made the companies paint all the boats white, apparently they think tourists associate white with luxury, don't know which idiot told them that! so no more of those lovely wooden coloured ships. nothing the cruise companies can do about it but it's still a little disappointing.

Perfect cruise on the bay”
We recently spent an evening on the Galaxy Premium Cruise and had the best time with the staff and other passengers! The company arranged for round-trip transport from our hotel in Hanoi for a small fee and took us straight to the wharf; it was much less chaotic than other travelers have described! The staff are extremely attentive, from assisting with luggage, to ensuring our safety and even making sure we were well fed. Huy, Binh and Nam made our stay unforgettable! The boat (or junk) was clean and had an amazing upper deck with great views of the limestone features and bay. Food on our cruise was more than abundant, with up to 8 courses for lunch & dinner as well as an amazing cooking class. The itinerary was filled with cave exploration, swimming, squid fishing and kayaking, but we did not feel rushed through anything. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

Amazing trip, but bring your own drinks..”
Overall the trip was great, watching the sunset from the deck of the boat was worth the money alone. The boat and its bedrooms are beautiful and the bay is absolutely incredible. Kayaking around the bay is one of the standout moments of our month in Vietnam. The staff are friendly and the guide spoke really good English. The food is quite good and they happily accommodate any dietary requirements which is a big plus. The only real issue for us was the drinks situation. The drinks on board are massively over priced for Vietnam (not just alcohol but water, coke etc) and it felt as if we were being conned out of money at every meal. For example, you're never given a menu for your drinks but if you do track one down the prices in it don't include VAT, so at the end of the trip your bill will be even more than you're expecting. The staff also offered drinks as if they were included in your meal, for example asking if you'd prefer coffee or tea after lunch, and then adding them to your tab after you'd finished. I do appreciate we could have asked if it was included at the time, but it was the way it felt like they were tricking you that bothered me more than the money. That being said, don't let that stop you going on this trip - it really was amazing! Spending 3 days in Halong Bay is one of the most memorable things I've done backpacking and I would recommend it to anyone, just remember to bring your own water..

Mid-Range boat with sufficent facilities and space”
I had an excellent time on the Halong Galazy Cruise. The boat and room facilities were of a decent standard. The food quality and presentation in particular were excellent I opted for a 3 day 2 night tour which gave a full day tour in Ha Long bay between two part travel days. I would recommend this for sufficent Kayaking and other activties I would recommend a warmer month to go. I tried decemeber and this was too cold for swimming

Great way to see Halong Bay”
My two travelling companions and I were so glad we booked the two night/three day Halong Galaxy Cruise as it took us away from the busy day trippers area to beautiful, serene bays and gave us a chance to relax after a couple of busy weeks in the hustle and bustle of Vietnam. The crew were very helpful and the food was delicious and plentiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking experiences on both days.

Great time on the boat.”
We did the two night trip on the Galaxy Cruise and had a great time. At first we were worried to find out we'd be the only couple to do the two night as the rest of group was heading off to Catbah island however we couldn't of been more wrong! The seond day on board was by far the highlight of our stay as we got to cruise around the island with the local fisherman, visit the pearl farm and kayak peacefully in the caves for 1.5 hours! When I booked this cruise I mentioned that I don't eat seafood, so the chef prepared special non-seafood dishes. There was so much food- it was great! We'd like to make special mention of our main guide Huan- he was attentive, knowledgable, fun and an absolute pleasure to hang out with and chat. Thank you to all the staff- we had a great time.

Lovely boat and great staff”
We had a great time visiting Ha Long Bay with Galaxy Cruises. Very nice rooms with good air conditioning etc. our guides were very knowledgable and Ha Long Bay itself is amazingly beautiful. The boat has a great upper deck for relaxing & taking time out with a cold beer to enjoy the scenery especially the sunset.

They provided us with everything we wanted. The boat was very nice, I loved how everything was really clean especially our rooms, the views and meals! We spent 2 days on the cruise and wanted to stay longer. The service of the staff was extremely friendly and inviting which made the experience that much better, the guide was really helpful and friendly. Its was a wonderful trip with Halong Bay tours !

Great time on Halong Galaxy Cruise”
We really enjoyed our time on Halong Galaxy Cruise! Started with a complimentary pick-up from our hotel in Ha Noi and a pleasant mini-bus trip to the wharf. On the boat, the room was clean and nicely decorated. Only negative points on that were that the room smelled a little of mould from the leaking air-con and the toilet didn't flush properly. However, for one night it was not a big deal. Also, there weren't too many rooms on the boat either, which meant that it wasn't too crowded and there was the opportunity to get to know the other guests on board. It was very nice to relax on the top level with a beautiful view and "natural air-conditioning." Food was plentiful and delicious! Activities such as kayaking, karaoke and squid fishing were great fun (even though we didn't catch anything!) The "Surprise" Cave was a little lame though, and the fishing village is seen better whilst kayaking, but all-in all a great experience. Staff were great and helpful. They make a killer cocktail called "Lipper Nipple" - it was delicious! Would definitely recommend this company to others!
