Truly deserves the title- the most remote B and B in the British mainland.”

This was an experience in itself, not just an accommodation.Eva and Adrian are gracious hosts who invite you to spend time in the main house library and the sunny living room. Dinner was an elaborate affair. Not just 3 courses but held around a long dinner table with excellent conversation. The house is surrounded by hills and numerous trails for walking. Our bothy was a cosy 2 bedroom which opened up to magnificent open views of rolling heather and gorse, rising into the hills. You could just stay at Garvault house and go nowhere in particular for days. Simply walk around, fish in the lakes, climb hills, explore old fortresses, watch sunset and have tea and cake in the library. This is more than a place to sleep in. Eva, Adrian and Ollie- thanks again. Lots of love to Chichi and Tigger.

    Warm, friendly, remote, amazing location”

The location was epic, we loved having our own little building in the bothy, visits from a snipe and the deer herd was epic. It was also a great experience being off grid, but still having power to charge phones and a great, warm shower. We spent a time in the main house too that was very comfortable and able to mix with other guests.
    Not a lot.

    Extremely peaceful”

The location is fantastic, very remote with fantastic scenery all round. Our hosts were lovely and welcoming and had great knowledge of the area and history of the property. There are a selection of books available and lovely fires on the drawing room and library to warm up next too of an evening. The evening meal was superb, 3 courses and all were faultless. Note that the property is not on the grid, so generate their own power. Be mindful of this and try to charge up devices before you get there.
    Nothing, everything was great.

We felt like guests in Adrian and Eva’s home. They bent over backwards to be helpful.”

Superb breakfast, pretty much whatever we wanted. Delicious. Dinner was a lovely social evening with other hotel guests and the bar was great fun with Ollie who was full of interesting facts especially about the local whisky. The hotel is a complete gem. We,6 of us arrived by bike, -1 bike was broken and Adrian took our friend to the local train station so he get back to Inverness and could sort it out.
Nothing- we had such a warm welcoming reception including delicious tea and cake.

Absolutely unique hotel experience. This is not your typical hotel. The owners and staff greet you and welcome you, to both their home and hotel, for your stay you are treated as friends, and are introduced to the other guests, where you share your evening meal sat together in the dining room, where Adrian has a knack of getting everyone talking amongst one another, so refreshing and made for a very enjoyable evening, where we retired to the bar and continued our conversations. The hotel, lounges etc, are full of books photos and other memorabilia from a bygone age and are fascinating.

    Location location location”

Eva and Adrian are the most welcoming hosts and provide a truly magical stay. It really is remote (30 mins or so down a single track), there is nothing else within sight apart from moorland and hills. It’s simply gorgeous! I’d recommend having dinner - the three courses were all delicious and it’s lovely to eat with your hosts and fellow guests, sharing tales of travels! Breakfast is equally delicious. I highly recommend this property, it’s a fab experience not just an overnight stay!!

    24 hours to remember”

Amazing, one of the best days I’ve had in years. Who knew that staycations could be so much fun! Food and staff were so friendly and the location was breath taking. Added to a morning swim in the hill loch and a dip in the burn and small waterfall and it was my highlight of our Scottish road trip. Not to mention the stags roaming the grounds fantastic seeing them and getting up close. Would love to come back one day, amazing experience.

    Amazing location and charming hosts”

Amazing location and utterly charming hosts. When my friend and I went to Garvault House, Adrian and Eva (the hosts) invited us and all of the other guests around for dinner followed by drinks in the bar on both nights. Very welcoming atmosphere and excellent hospitality. We very very much enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back.
I really cannot fault anything. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere is so friendly.

The place to go to get away from the full on world of the 21st century.”

The remoteness is to be experienced. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. All hand made and cooked. All our dietary needs were catered for. Hospitality was first class. This is not for those who still need the modern age lifestyle, internet, tv etc. If you love the outside and remote feeling then this is the place to go.
    Couldn’t stay longer.

The place is the most remote hotel in Britain. It is in a stunning environment, in the middle of vast emptiness with huge spaces, spectacular views and amazing wildlife. The house has been refurbished recently with superb decor and a very friendly setting. It is full of life. Adrian has been a fantastic host, and the food was amazing.

No tv or phone signal and the views were out of this world. Fantastic cooked breakfast and dinner and I experienced true darkness at night. Not for the sensitive millennials out there! Sat in the library until dinner reading by the fire. What more could a hiking couple require

We loved this place! It’s a gorgeous hotel, the most remote hotel in mainland Scotland, as it claims, in a vast moor with views all around. Fantastic. Adrian and Eva were just the best hosts ever. We loved every minute we stayed here. From the tea and cake in the library, the delicious, freshly cooked meal by Eva and the stags and doe’s wondering past our window! What a delight the whole stay was. Can’t wait to come back.
