A Home from Home”

Unexpectedly we found the place wonderfully homely, clean and spacious. The environment setting is great with a big compound to walk around. It is run by a retired Japanese and his wife with a handful of friendly staffs. Although he could not converse in English he used an electronic translator to ensure all our needs were taken care of, including recommendation of places to visit, etc. He would invite his guests to join him at his little observatory to see the stars whenever the sky was clear, unfortunately the 2 nights we stayed were cloudy. We took up his offer including most the other guests to have his special set dinner (French cuisine) for a reasonable price. No regret, it was delicious and ended with some saki on the house. The rooms were spacious with a little living space to sit, relax or read. Although the furniture and fittings were old but they were properly maintained and in good working condition. Breakfasts were equally great with very nice breads. Highly recommended.

Cute cabins, nice surrounding”

This hotel has great outdoor stuff to do such as a big lawn surrounded by forest, start gazing facility and outdoor onsen. We went in the middle of the winter which was not the best timing because we could not hang out in nature. I would like to go back in a warmer season. The owners of the hotel were really hospitable, and were able to recommend placed to go (nicely prepared maps etc.). The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious (they hire a chef) (breakfast 1500¥ and dinner 3500¥, price may vary depending on season and menu)

Owner was very kind to let us see stars through his observatory. Arigatou gozaimasu!! Cottage Lodge was beautiful. The bathroom had no curtain. Wife not very happy with that. Other than that all is good!

Friendly Owners”

Lovely homestay tucked away from main road. Room is big and clean, and even comes with Japanese style bath and shower - heavenly to take a dip after a long day of touring. The owners are very friendly too.

Very good”

Use Google map to locate the homestay. There is a bigger hotel (The Guernsey Hotel & Resort) on the right side of the road. Go a little further (< 60m) & turn right into a small path and you will see the name of the homestay on a picket. Follow the sign to the reception. Inform the host of your ETA so he can wait for you.. There is a nice onsen too.

Amazing hospitality!!”

Love love the owners of the B&B!! Matsudake san was so hospitable and friendly! He chatted with us via google translate even though he couldn’t really speak English. We had both their dinner and breakfast and it was a comforting western style dinner. Highlight of the stay was star gazing after dinner at his observatory! My only gripe is the place didn’t have wifi during our stay. Facilities were also old but I didn’t mind. Other than that it was pretty great!

オーナーやスタッフの方がとても親切！”

くじゅうの花公園やタオの丘から近いので宿泊。 あいにく雲があり星は見れませんでしたが、オーナーのお二人のお心使いでとても良い滞在ができました。 お食事も美味しかったです。 貸切風呂も二人でゆっくり入れました！ お部屋もフロントやお食事会場から少し歩きますが、広い部屋でとても居心地が良かったです。 中庭にバレー？バトミントン？ができるネット、バスケットゴール、ハンモックもあり、ファミリーにもおすすめです！

星空が綺麗”

運に恵まれてこの日は快晴でしたので小さな天文台から色々な星を見せていただきました。 また、夜中に星空を見に庭へ出て満天の美しい星空を満喫できました。 フレンチのディナーも翌朝の朝食もとても美味しかったです。 気になったところは客室のお風呂が外庭から丸見えです。 スクリーンカーテンなど目隠しは必要だと思います。 半露天風呂は大きくてゆったり浸かることができますがお部屋のお風呂と同じく簡単に覗けるのは女性には気になるところではないでしょうか？ オーナーご夫婦はとてもお話好きで食事中、色々な話題でサービスしていただけました。 とても素敵な時間でしたがカップル同士の会話はほとんどできませんでした。 一人旅の方ならば退屈する時間が無いのでおすすめします。 チェックアウト後も見えなくなるまで手を振ってのお見送りありがとうございました。

非常可愛的小屋～熱情友善的老闆”

位置方面，就在九重花公園旁，駕車廿分鐘可到竹田市中心。不過這間民宿賣點不是地點，就是因為不接近市中心，才是這間民宿可愛之處。晚上看到很多很多星星而且老闆有一個小型天文台教我們觀星～快樂的體驗。我們的小屋10分整潔舒適，有私人的風呂給住客使用。屋外周圍都是綠油油的樹林和草地，非常寫意。

구슈 골프 여행”
