A gem”
I had visited Phrae twice before and stayed at two other hotels. The Gingerbread appealed to me because it was close to the old city just a short walk to the night market and the cluster of shops and restaurants that I had visited before. The Gingerbread has recently been repurposed and imaginatively remodeled. Unknown to me at the time of my booking, it also has an association with a man who has inventoried and gives tours to the amazing array of teak structures in Phrae, once a center of foreign logging concessions in the late 19th and early 20th Century. There is even a gallery on the 2nd floor of the Gingerbread that inventories and describes (in Thai) hundreds of wooden structures in the city. He was very helpful in planning my motorbike visits to many of these. The hotel itself is very pleasant. Breakfasts are outstanding, and the coffee is GREAT! I enjoyed my stay in Phrae and appreciated the helpfulness and hospitality provided by the manager and staff. I'll be back.

Great Location to Explore Phrae”
The location just outside Phrae old city is great for exploring Phrae. Gingerbread is all new and very clean but has the old world charm of the teak houses that are so prominent around Phrae. The breakfast in the downstairs cafe is great and their coffee is excellent.

Cosy clean stylish boutique room with cafe”
Only 3 rooms but clean n stylish.staff were friendly and helpful in arranging transport. Nice cafe with good coffee in comfort. Opposite the police station but a bit of a walk from the night market. Dead town after 8 pm!

Cosy lovely hotel ”
I've had stayed there for 2 nights as a solo woman traveller. Location is very convenint and in heart of Phrae city center, where tourists are able to go sightseeing by bicycle.They serve nice breakfast and coffee. Bed is confortable. Nothing has to be complained at all. I also would like to thanks for owners because they were very kind and helpful. Without their helps I would have missed seeing fabulous temples and museums. For me next time in Phrae, I will definitely stay at Gingerbread House B&B again.

A delightful place just outside Phrae old town. More than a B&B and cafe, it also has a gallery and supports young creatives in the town. Exquisitely designed and lovely personal service. Excellent breakfast and lunch. A shame it isn't also open for dinner as there aren't many good places to eat in Phrae. In a more visited town it would cost a lot more (and rightly so!)

The most beautiful stay in the north”
A unique old wooden house - perfectly restored and modernised. With tasteful rooms and modern bathrooms. The friendly owners can provide information and a very good coffee. This traveller's dream is located right downtown of Phrae and the perfect base for walks trough the City. It also offers high quality products, such as clothes and design objects, from local designers.

One of the Best BnB”
This teak house has only 3 rooms for guest.on the second floor while the first is a cute coffee room and a little gallery. The room is small but comfy. Like many other reviewers, the noise from the wall-mate next door will annoy you especially if you are a late riser. Sunny side up eggs in breakfast is a bit greasy though looks so good. The owner and staff are very nice and pleasant. I have no hesitation to stay here again on my next visit to Prae.

Very nice hotel”
The room is excellent. It's all done in teak, which is a traditional material, but they've added many tasteful modern touches, like indirect lighting. There are lights under the bed! The beds are a bit hard, which is common in northern Thailand, but still comfortable. There seems to be only three rooms, as this is a converted old hotel. There's also an art gallery next to the rooms. They give you a choice of four options for breakfast. I chose the Thai rice soup. It came loaded with fish and was delicious. A bit higher than the cheaper accommodations, but still a very good deal.

Charming, good food and good service ”
This guest house was a great find. I think it's a family operation and they really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms are cute and the restaurant is very good. The owners have created a place to stay that feels connected with the style of the old city as well. The location is great for walking everywhere in the old city. They freely offer advice on where to eat and what to see. They even arranged for a driver to drive us to Nan. I highly recommend this establishment to you. It's charming.

Certainly Different ”
This was a last minute booking for a stopover on our way back from Khon Kaen, so no real time to read any previous reviews. When we arrived at about 18.00 the check in was very quick and we were offered the chance of an evening meal which we accepted, then up to our room before having a stroll around the night market. Now the room seemed small at first, but was very clean, well equipped, shower & toilet through a curtain and we had a comfortable stay there. The location is ideal for anyone who wants to do some sightseeing, but you have to bear in mind it can be noisy at times, located at traffic lights and opposite the main Police station. The breakfast we ordered before going to bed, no problem as we wanted to be on the road by 8.00, it was very nice too.

Nice boutique B&B at the center of town”
The room was next to a gallery and the decor was beautiful and very traditional but modern and clean. A cute hotel at the center of town, 3-min walk to the night/morning market (it's small market but doable). The staff/owners were very friendly and nice, really appreciate their welcoming gesture. The bed was comfy and the room was enough as a stopover accommodation. Because it's right in the center, it can get noisy at nights (plus carparking may be a bit if an issue). Breakfast was okay but, despite promoting their coffee, coffee was not part of the set breakfast and had to pay extra.
