The place was nice. Was given a level 1 room unfortunately was facing a small wall of ice but has nice trees out the back. Provides free transportation to the train station. The dinner and breakfast was amazing.

The second option if can’t stay in the town”
Located around 5 minutes walk from the onsen town. During our stay there was renovation going on, part of the outdoor onsen was blocked. The indoor onsen is quite small. Dinner was good, breakfast was ok. Given the high price point, it is not a valuable option.

Overpriced, horrible location and subpar service”
The journey to this place took more than 6h. We paid for a more expensive room and the only blessing is the private onsen faced a patch of nice forest. During dinner time, all the foreigners are sat separately from the locals - I assumed to provide some english service (But it's super limited)? But this is completely different from the unusual onsen service. I was not asked about my food preferences and they served me prawns. When I asked for a redo, I had to top up another 1100yen. Usually at other onsens, they would email you in advance for food preferences or upon check-in. The only saving grace is a free nomihodai before 7pm. The Ginzan Street is super short - you can cover the whole area in 5 minutes. And the streets are lined up with mainly ryokans instead of interesting shops. Take note that this ryokan is not at the main street and you have to walk 5-10minutes depending on the season although the hotel provides boots and snow coats. Service is really minimal at this hotel?Ryokan? The public baths' changing rooms have limited amenities. The outdoor onsen doesn't have a fantastic view if you are coming during off-peak season. tl;dr there are better onsen towns!!!! This is way overhyped and overpriced considering the time taken to travel here and the price paid.

Stayed in the Japanese-style Room with Semi Open-air Lie-down Bath (New East Wing) which was clean, comfortable and spacious. Even though the hotel is not located in the main street, it is only 5 mins' walk from there. And the free shuttle bus from the train station to the hotel was very convenient. Special thanks to the staff who received us and the staff who served us our meals. Their excellent service would not go unappreciated. Soaking in the hotspring in particular the outdoor lying and standing pools in front of the great scenery was a wonderful experience. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Enjoy and good services”
It provided free pick up from Oishida station even you did not book the services. Everything went through smoothly. They asked for your preference dinner, breakfast timeand return journey to Oishida station next morning. It is great to have private room for our dinner and even breakfast. In general food is good and looks to me we do not have choice to choose Western or Japanese for the breakfast. They only served Japanese. Overall it is good to stay and enjoy the onsen.

We really loved the private onsen in our room. The staff are also very nice and attentive. We also appreciate the free shuttle service to Obanazawa station. Everything is perfect during our stay and we highly recommend it to everyone.
