I knew the Grand Lido, you're no Grand Lido. No beach front No dive hut modest pool deck pool longer than wide - not conducive to social interaction. attached to enormous complex with escalators - escalators!

We enjoyed all the amenities with the resort accept for: What ever we asked the butler to do. ie, stock fridge with water & beer, not pop. We asked the other butler to bring a charger for our direct phone line to them. No charger. I found, being in construction, there were many deficiencies throughout the resort that were being ignored. Handles missing on washroom doors, shabby paint cutting around wood trim. Sloppy finishes. The dead bird we saw on the roof walking down the stairs is still there this year!!!! We were disappointed when there were children running through the dance floor at 10:30pm while we were dancing. We went to play pool after but couldn't because another set of kids were playing...at 10:34. We did enjoy it over all. But we think

Staff very friendly and helpful. I miss the former place and its intimacy The new facility requires getting used to. Food plentiful but at times disappointed with desserts. Timing of housekeeping unpredictable. Did not like policy of a hold on credit card for spa services. Ice cream shouldn’t be melted when served.

I’ll prefice this review with i’m on vacation and simply want to relax and i do not want to complain about anything. Kudos to donovan (butler), poppy (bar), rory (buffett server). i’ve never been to a 4.5 star facility with so many broken equipment: Hot tub, hydrotherapy, refrig, etc... General lack of supplies: club soda 4 days, rum, limes, lemons, nachos, tea, etc... Rude and lack of follow up: if you want towels at 10am GL pool... “go get them yourself by hideaway the lifeguard was suppose to be here an hour ago”. there are many issues not cited including my request to discuss the service related issues with the GM, amazing. weirdest of all was the diamond clubs policy of upgrading non au natural guests to grand lido. 1) they don’t want to be naked 2) they are fairly vocal about not wanting to be naked 3) one small group went so far as to ridicule a au natural couple at the GL pool bar requiring security to intervene. ridiculous we won’t be back.

Las instalaciones muy buenas , la atención en bares y restaurantes muy mala, yo fui hace muchos años al antiguo gran lido, la atención era fantástica , estaban prohibidas las propinas , pero ahora aunque les des propinas que no es la idea en este tipo de hotel , realmente mala atención a excepción de un mínimo de personas , las recepciones muy buena , la comida en general buena a, excepto el de carnes y japonés , malos , en los bares , sobre todo en el grande de recepción , no va nadie a las mesas a ofrecer nada , hay que ir a la barra y esperar a q se dignen a atender con mala cara, esta parte es muy desagradable , realmente podría ser excelente hotel si tomaran en cuenta estas cosas y las cambiaran , lo pensaría en volver al mismo hotel , a Negril de todas maneras
