This is an older hotel that I had stayed at 10 years ago, We stayed with family for 2 nights after flying in from New York. The facility is older but it is very clean. The breakfast Buffet is very good and the Wi-Fi works well. The pool was nice as well. Over all a nice place to stay

I booked the hotel bec the party I attended was also booked here. PROS Great location Clean room and bath Superb customer service by one staff, Joshua. The others esp those in the front desk, just ok, not outstanding. CONS Was terribly disappointed that I had to pay 700 more for my son after a Php2.7k charge in Agoda. When I searched for the hotel to book, I had placed booking for 1 room and 2 pax. When I got in the hotel, they said only one guest was booked, and they book rooms by the number of guest/s! I was charged 700 more for my 12 yo son. I also found out that the hotel price is just 2k for a 2 person occupancy. If you want to book this hotel, go for straight hotel booking! Buffet breakfast so-so, with few choices. I am recommending booking in this hotel bec of the location and well, the rooms are considerably clean for an old hotel. Book if you must, but please read carefully before booking by Agoda. I never had problems with my booking here until this last one.

Location is superb, at the heart of Davao and there are a lot of eateries within the hotel vicinity. Area is also lively at night. Customer service is spotless, patented Filipino hospitality. I rated cleanliness as disappointing because the room we were in has a very dusty floor carpet, cobwebs at room corners and the bath tub floor drain emits a foul smell. Room lighting is also not sufficient but maybe because it's an old hotel already.

During check-in the front desk keep repeating to us that its not allowed to stay more than 2 adults in the room when she saw my sister and her family who is from davao accompanied us in the hotel.

pissed off at the desk upon check out”
i booked and pay for 1 online and stayed alone in rm208. room has 2 single beds. i took the blanket from the other bed and used 2 blankets bcz it was to cold during my sleep. upon my check out, the desk person told me i used two beds so i must pay for addl fees. i said, im alone i pay for the entire room and i could use everything there. then she left me and call to phone somebody. she came near me and ordered me to pay 400 because touched second bed is evidenced of 2 persons slept. i said lets see the cctv footage im the only one coming in and out of rm208. she insist me to pay. im firm, i told her i wont pay addl money.400pesos. i got really pissed. i got ashamed also because there were people around. bcoz of this, i wont ever booked in that old hotel. it is so ridiculous and pissing that i paid for the room and billed for additional 400 for using things inside my hotel room. stupid management

Problems to get kettle to room, wifi access. Food terrible, cold meals all the time same in buffet. Just few same fruits. Not fresh. Staff sometimes requires appropriate dress to restaurant, sometimes they don’t care. Staff in restaurant and reception rude, not helpful and not professional. Security guys ok. went to Davao for a week-long workshop. Some of my teammates stayed in other hotels so I saw how other hotels were. The other hotels were newer and had better buffet breakfast. The receptionist at Grand Men Seng also need further training in responding to customers.

A Pleasant Stay”
This is a clean, well-maintained hotel with a convenient location in downtown Davao. My room was the standard, but it was large. With 2 twin beds, there was plenty of room for my girlfriend's family to stay overnight a couple of times. The breakfast buffet had different food each day, so I never got tired of the same old thing. The restaurant by the pool was very convenient. We could swim, go order our dinner, swim some more, eat dinner when it was ready, then swim again after eating. I was satisfied with the quality of food in both hotel restaurants. Wi-fi was not available after the power outages, but the business center has a Linux computer for guests to use. The center also has an ethernet cable if you prefer to use your own laptop. The staff was helpful and friendly. On my second morning, I went downstairs and asked for my breakfast buffet ticket so I could go eat. The lady at the desk handed it to me and my name was already hand-written on it. So I guess she knew my name. I was impressed. I plan to visit Davao again and I plan to stay at Grand Men Seng again. And I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
