Something different, close to the airport”

Great Fosters is a real find for the discerning traveller needing an overnight stop close to Heathrow but still looking for something out of the ordinary. A beautiful building in lovely gardens with comfortable rooms and excellent service. I will use this hotel again when visiting the UK.

New Year's Eve 2016 - the perfect stay”

From the moment we arrived at Great Fosters, we were made to feel incredibly special and comfortable. The grounds are exquisitely beautiful and elegant; staff are assiduously helpful and friendly, the room was immaculate and the decor stunning, and the food - both room service and the Tudor Room tasting menu - was delicious. Will definitely come again. Loved this trip. Room service (champagne and amazing chips) brought up promptly an hour before midnight on New Year's Eve with grace and smiles? What more could one want?!

Wonderful Ambiance in a Classic English Setting”

We wanted to stay near the airport on our last night and although we usually stay in a chain hotel for this purpose, decided to try something new. What an incredible good decision! We enjoyed a classic English afternoon tea, walked the magnificent garden, took a million pictures and then had a light bite in the bar that night. The rooms are updated, clean and extremely comfortable. It's like a step back in time with modern amenities. I would highly recommend putting this on your list.

A great venue in a stunning location, the staff are incredible and it may rank as one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

Pleasant but aloof”

My husband and I booked this hotel to spend our first night as a married couple. We requested a late checkout: declined. We asked if there was anything they could do to make it special. They offered wine and chocolates for a charge, quite cliche and not our thing. We didn't necessarily want freebies but maybe even if we could breakfast somewhere outside or privately. They said they hadn't set up the outside and that private wasn't an option. In short it's a nice place but the lack of warmth means they have to rely on the hotel to sell itself.

Just a bit expensive for what you get”

Lovely place to stay, well kept gardens and friendly staff. Our room was just a bit tired / dated, had a hole in the wall, broken tiles and the room was extremely hot, even with air con on full and Windows open. Breakfast for two best part of £40 for a buffet breakfast isn't what I would expect to pay. Considering the price I would want everything to be just right.

Beautiful location and period property but tastelessly decorated and with badly trained staff”

What a pity. The service was lacking and the place was done up in a cheap, tacky fashion that did not do justice to the property. The greeting at reception was perfunctory and the general level of staff training was poor although the people were nice. Breakfast service was very slow and the coffee machine broke down. They gave me the wrong bill and it was a bit of a shambles. My room was okay but the air conditioning was not working adequately and the shower was so badly designed with the soap tray blocking you that it would have been easy for an older person to fall out. I was staying for my daughter’s graduation nearby so I did not allow the hotel to spoil my trip. A loud drunken garden party on the Saturday did not bother me but the failure to clear up glasses in the bar meant that I went elsewhere for a drink. It could be so much better if they were more organised and if someone with Design 101 training were allowed to re-do the decor.
