Peaceful and beautiful place!”

Atmosphere, location, owner, dog...everything! I have booked a night and as soon as I went in I have asked to stay two more nights! The owner is very welcoming and polite! The breakfast was delicious, the house very beautiful and clean! Nice to be hosted from people who truly liked where they are doing! I have traveled for a month in Scotland and this was absolutely the best place where I have stayed! I will be back for sure!

Well worth a revisit when I next visit the Scottish Highlands and excellent value for money.”

Breakfast was an optional extra, priced at £6.00 for a light one or £10.00 for cooked. Additionally packed lunches were supplied if requested on the previous evening priced at £6.00. Anne and Mark are a very friendly couple who did everything that they could to make me feel welcome and at home, whilst respecting my need for privacy where appropriate. Kingussie is within easy driving rang of Aviemore and the splendid lochs and mountains which make the Cairngorms so special. I enjoyed researching the history of the area and so was pleased that the Highland Folk Museum was very close to Kingussie.
At times the dining room could be a little cold, but then I do feel the cold more than most.

Great visit!”

Hosts were super. Very attentive and lovely to chat to. Great breakfast in the morning which set me up well for my bike ride. Very comfortable room and bed. Lovely view of the garden too! Decor suits the house well. Location is a short walk up hill from Kingussie main Street. Was great to be able to book somewhere for one night only too.

Excellent stay.”

Breakfast was delicious. Hosts were very accommodating. Rooms were very comfortable, slept very well. Complimentary tea. Lots of books available, I took a note of the title of one and purchased later. Allowed me to leave my large hiking bag and gear in the porch after checking out but before I was collected.

Stay here!”

A warm welcome and a very comfortable stay. Super comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and a breakfast to die for! Not super modern but if you want spot on Scottish hospitality this is the place to stay. Very few places welcome 6 muddy cyclists, wash their kit and provide a relaxed place to stay.

Relaxing and pleasant stop on my John O’Groats to Lands End cycle”

Excellent location, very comfortable accommodation and very friendly owner. A great experience of staying in a beautiful highland house surrounded by lovely gardens and with breakfast eggs from the chickens in the garden.

Clean, comfortable, convenient”

Friendly owners, clean, comfortable room, quirkiest bathroom ever, lovely house. Would love to stay for longer. It was easy to find, even in the dark. Choice of breakfasts is a welcome idea (though I opted for neither)

Superb host. Excellent room.”

Greystones is a substantial old house on the edge of Kingussie. It is run by Annie who keeps everything spotless. The room was warm and airy. Annie took my walking clothes for wash soon after my arrival. Breakfast was all I could wish for. CV19 precautions were taken seriously.
Only that I had to walk back downhill then up the hill to get to somewhere to eat dinner. Otherwise - there is nothing negative at all.

One night in Badenoch…”

Anne, Mark and Dug are fantastic hosts. I loved the interior and the old furniture, a very traditional aesthetic and homely feel. Comfortable beds and the best night’s sleep in a while. A very grand overall appearance. It’s not my first stay here and it shall not be my last either. Thank you for your kind hospitality.
You can hear people from inside the rooms but I didn’t mind it too much

Beautiful garden with lots of wildlife. Very friendly hosts. Large variety of teas, biscuits etc in lounge. Use of dinning area, crockery and cutlery to eat our evening takeaway. Above and beyond . The house is full of curios and the lounge has a warm homely feel. Super.

Gracious and very accommodating”

Location was great, the hostess was great to me and very very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, and tea and coffee in the sitting room was great too. Bit of a walk up the hill but a fabulous view of the mountains.
There was a little miscommunication with the times I anticipated to arrive, but that was largely due to my arrival six hours earlier than I thought with a short hiking day.
