Wonderful time”

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Guava Grove Resort and Villas. From the time Cheryl the hostess/ owner picked us up from the airport and showed us around West End to the time we said our goodbyes a month later Cheryl and her team took excellent care of us. Our villa was perfect for the two of us. It was clean and if we wanted to cook it had everything we needed. The unit was comfortable with great breezes in the evening. The food at Guava Grove Grill was amazing everything on the menu we enjoyed. A nice pool with a swim up bar and water aerobics a couple times a week made a fun time. Cheryl would have this wonderful musician/ singer Patty on some afternoons along with some local artist. Being so close to the beach we could snorkel and walk down the beautiful beach to local bars and restaurants. The easy ride into West End and West Bay kept us busy when we wanted to be. We met some wonderful new friends during the evening gathering had great conversation and company. Cheryl and her team work hard to take care of you and are a fun group of people just to be around. We will be back

The location is quiet and perfect if you have a rental car. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The water in the shower was always hot. It was nice to have a/c. The pool was nice to swim, it was warm. We are glad we got the daily breakfast was always a great start! Sheryl the manager is knowledgeable and has lots of tips for activities.
Everything was nice during our stay. I didn’t realice the property has good parking! and would have been great to have a rental car. Although it was easy to get taxis to move around to Sandy bay and nearby areas. We didn’t want to drive and it was nice to just relax and not worry about parking spots or anything, for 4-5days just need to bring like $300usd in $5s, $10s and some $20s and make sure they are not ripped.

Guava Grove was exactly what we had hoped for. Quiet, away from the regular tourist traffic with both North American and Honduran culture perspectives from our knowledgeable hosts. Cheryl took our reservation and prepared delicious plates with fresh mariscos provided by a local fisherman couple. Alex grew up here and has been snorkeling around Roatán since childhood. I went snorkeling twice with him and DEFINITELY recommend it. We went as early as 6am and got to see sea turtles with their sometime passengers, lobsters, crabs, scorpion fish, two fish trying to make a meal out of a spotted sea snake, an eel, puffer fish, and any number of other colorful reef fish. Alex has an eye for discovering sea life and plants from a distance, knows what can safely be explored close up. Both Cheryl and Alex are careful to model good care of the reef. Alex (who by the way is completely fluent in English or Spanish) and I removed a couple cans of soda that we found while snorkeling, and now I know to use little or no suntan lotion around the reef. Oh! And those eggs they serve you? From their own chickens! Our routine: Get up late, enjoy terrific WIFI, eat breakfast, take multiple dips in the swimming pool, maybe wander around visiting island attractions that Cheryl or Alex suggest. The ambiente is familial. We got to visit with others staying here. If there's another pandemic or opportunities for virtual work, I know a perfect place to work online!
You probably want to book well in advance to be sure to find a villa. This is a small but top-ranked in Sandy Bay boutique hotel. We were lucky to get in at the last minute. It's less than a 5 minutes to walk to the beach, and if you want to walk to the West End (I recommend a taxi), it's about 45 minutes. I love guayabas. Maybe I'll eat more of them the next time I visit. 🤭😊

Surprisingly beautiful grounds hidden on a hill. I had passed it many times without knowing what was there. The hotel centres around a restaurant beside a pool. There's a friendly atmosphere as people of all ages gather for meals in the open air restaurant. The owner and staff are very friendly, the food delicious, the rooms comfortable.

We had a great time!”

We stayed in the queen room with sea view for two nights due to our flight change. I wish I knew this place earlier that we would stay longer! The room itself is clean, the bed was so comfy and with aircon, the breakfast was delish and mins walk to the beautiful beach. The best part are Cheryl and Murray. They are a super nice couple and took care of us like families. Cheryl even helped us making COVID test appointments! Thank you so much!

Very enjoyable, I hope to return to this beautiful gem of a small hotel.”

The entire offering at Guava Grove is what hospitality should be. I enjoyed all aspects. Food and drinks were tasty and well prepared. Room and grounds were attractive and immaculately kept. Easy access to beach and reef, plus the inviting on-premise swimming pool with its swim-up bar. Location and transportation were ideal. Personable host Cheryl and her small staff pleasantly offer a wonderful stay for all fortunate enough to find their way to this little piece of tropical paradise. I look forward to returning for a longer stay.

I felt at home....I am an Ex Hotelier and to feel at home, is an exceptional statement. Cheryl achieves this in many ways. My first hint of exceptionalism was a whatsap msg first thing in the morning saying a hot thermos of coffee was outside the door to my room.., The room itself was a warm cottage style corner room well up from the ground with a wonderful breeze flowing down the hill and through ample windows and curtains of a pleasant material. I could go on.....thank you Cheryl..

Very clean and hospitable environment. Run by a Canadian couple who do everything possible to make your stay perfect. The welcoming atmosphere around the pool/bar was definitely awesome. I would highly recommend for a nice quiet stay.

Guava hotel has been by far the best hotel i have ever stay in. I have no complain at all. Cheryl and alex are great human beings, every drink and every plate they make is made with love and care. Staying with Cheryl and alex will make you not want leave the place or take them home with you, after spending 1 day with them, they will become you family and make you feel like thats your home.

Cute b'n'b style place. I have never been a fan of big resorts, so was glad to stay in a place like this. The staff was very social and helpful, and it's clear they take great pride in the gardens of coconuts and guava (etc) around the property. My room wasn't advertised as ocean view, but you could still (kinda) see the ocean.
