This place is GREAT.”
I stayed in the Beach-Side front this time. I absolutely love this place, it is a gem in Camiguin. Staff - 10/10 Food - 12/10 - seriously GOOD. Location - 10/10 Beach room - 7/10 I gave the beach room an 8/10 because while it is really great, I wish the curtains were more opaque. All of the windows and curtains are short and do not keep light out well, so at 7AM or so, the brightness just completely shines into your room. Other than that, I will recommend this place to anyone.

Exceptional”
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very accommodating to our early check-in time when we arrived. Our ocean villa was steps away from the beach and had a view of White Island. The outdoor tub on the roof was a great amenity, although privacy kept us from fully enjoying it. While basic, the room offered a comfortable bed and separate seating area. No TV helped make it a quiet retreat. Note that they will shut off power to your villa if you forget to turn off the air conditioning when you leave. The on-site restaurant was fabulous! We had our best meal on Camiguin here. The villas are at the end of a road down the street from the boats that take you to White Island, but everything else is a bit removed. I’d recommend renting a scooter to make getting around easier.

Nice quiet place right on the water”
This street is a little ways out of the centre of town, maybe 10 min by mototaxi, but it's *very* close to the place where you can take boats out to White Island. There's not much else of significance around, but the food is good, and it's very quiet at night.

Beachfront property”
Apartment on the beach looking at White Sand beach. Property had a very good restaurant, breakfast if you so choose was served on the deck. Close walk to the small town, tricycles take you to the main town for 20 pesos pp. nice stay!

Accommodation personalized”
Guerrera maintains only 3 rooms so Mark and Chef Carmel's accommodation to guests are very personalized. We stayed in the only room that has a view of the sea so we sat at the porch and watched the sea during our free time. White Island seemed just a stone throw away from the porch. Also, having an authentic Asian Restaurant within the compound is very convenient. You don't have to go far to find the best food to eat in Camiguin because Chef Carmel and her cousin Jay make and serve them.

Relaxing Resort with Amazing Food”
In short, Guerrera is amazing, the location is prime for popular tourist destinations, the view has it all and is great for relaxing in awe of the beauty of creation, the food is some of the best I have had in the Philippines, Mark and Carmel are warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating, and speaking of accommodating, the accommodations are very comfortable and worth every peso. In long: We can’t say enough about our experience at Guererra. When we arrived, we were quickly and warmly greeted by Mark, the owner (along with his wife Carmel), and he gave us a run-through on the facilities and answered all of our questions about places to go and people to see. He also invited us to their Christmas party, which was a great time of fun games and delicious food. Their hospitality made us feel so welcome and comfortable from the greeting at our room the first day, all the way until Mark walked us out to our rented motorcycle and saw us off (despite having other guests in their restaurant). When you stay at Guererra, you quickly learn about their passion for great food. Carmel spent time in Thailand learning to become a chef and Mark is as equally as passionate about getting the food just right. We had some amazing Green Thai Curry, which they let me learn how to make in a cooking class. We also had some great Indian food (Briyani and Dahl). I used to live in Thailand and my wife grew up in Malaysia (heavily populated by Indians…her uncle is even an Indian), and we were thoroughly impressed and our tummies satisfied. What’s even more awesome is that much of the food is grown around the resort, so it is very fresh and healthy. The room is comfortable, clean, and made us want to move in. It is clearly set up for couples in mind. The room is spacious and the shower has ample room for two. The views are amazing. Out one window is the volcanic mountain in full view from the bed. Out the sliding glass doors you can view the beautiful and serene rice patty field, also fro

Stylish accommodation”
One of the more stylish accommodations in Mambajao featuring an outdoor bathtub. Owners are so hospitable and accommodating. Location of the villas is fronting White Island and a few minutes away from the jetty form where boats to the White island depart. Restaurant offering “fine Asian street food” however menu is very limited and quite pricey (fried rice for PhP 300) and not too flexible (i asked if the adobo can be chicken instead of pork - answer was no). Wifi was erratic too when I was there. But the grounds were lovely, green, and spacious.

Peace”
That is what you feel at Guerrera. My advice is to reserve at least half a day to just enjoy to quietness, the landscape, the animals. That is really a luxury for those who live in cities. The restaurant is good. It has a very nice atmosphere. Breakfast is the weak point. There are a number of other good restaurant in the neighborhood.

Slept well, ate even better”
The beach villa had a very comfortable bed and even the sounds of the frogs and fishing boats didn’t wake us up. Heavy rains one night knocked the power out and right away I can hear the low hum of the generator kick in and power was never really interrupted. Having spent a few nights in another place where the same thing happened, we really appreciate having the air con and lights still running. The food was the highlight and all the accolades the restaurant has garnered are well deserved. Everything was so fresh that I found myself eating ingredients I usually do not eat and enjoying the taste. We dined outside on the picturesque back patio at sunset and it was surreal and romantic. We knew we were in for a special experience when we witnessed a kitchen worker go out onto the garden, clipping our spices, in front of our eyes...

Maybe I had too much ”
From the reviews I've read, I was very much excited for my stay which worked against me since I had too much expectations I guess. First off, the location was good, walking distance from the White Island Ferry terminal and is near other resorts and the main road so it is accessible. I was expecting a lush rice paddy field however when we were there it was just grass. The main building which is also the restaurant needs updating as it shows it age already. Rooms are small but are nicely decorated. It was clean and smelled good. We had ample deck space with multiple seating (plus points for a rocking chair). Also plus points since we had a 5 gallon water dispenser. Toilettries are provided except for a toothbrush. It would help to thoroughly clean the area. The table on our veranda and the railings had insect poop, our bath tub had some stains as well. Beach area is a public beach and pretty much not inviting to swim at.

Average place, could have been better”
Pros - Beautiful rice terrace outside the room, clean room, looks new. Bathtub in the porch in front of the rice terraces. Cons - it felt like there wasn't any privacy, the rooms are located just infront of the restaurant and every person that comes to eat can see you. The room is small and not wisely built - no place what so ever to hang anything, the mirror hung so short you need to bend over to see yourself, seems like they did not put a lot of thought while building it. They did not clean our plates after the room service for hours until ants came and we had to bring the plates back to them, happened more than once. Other than that they did not clean our room for 4 days until we asked them to do that and even then they did not replace our towles, we had to go and ask for new towles.

We acknowledge and apologize for the lapse with your plates and your feedback has helped us make the necessary adjustments. The housekeeping issue was a simple misunderstanding. When we asked you about cleaning, we did not receive any response from you, so we respected your privacy. We also did provide you fresh towels, each day, and only did not replace during house-keeping as you already had new ones. We're glad you liked the view of our rice paddies. There are few like it, anywhere, and along with our acclaimed restaurant, Guerrera, these two reasons are what why most of our guests choose to stay with us. Our 3 villas were built for the convenience of over-night dining and cooking class guests. Whenever someone decides to stay with us, we always encourage them to visit our our website. We go into great detail about our style, appeal, and are quite transparent about whom we feel Guerrera is best suited. Not for all. Can and will be better. Definitely not average.
Holy weekger awsy!”
Very interesting and delightful hotel. Excellent staff, especially waitress Joanne. Very quiet and relaxing location without television noise and interruption; nicely appointed room and amenities; the new guard dog was a joy, I have a Belgian; there will be a return vacation!

very different from their pictures”
There is no rice field. It is very different from their pictures so it causes no attration of lacation. Bungalow style house and room condition are ok but without rice field made us disappointed a lot. So we felt room rate is expensive.
See room deals
Rice "field" is there but rice crop cannot be grown at present due to water shortages and even then land requires time to regenerate in between plantings. The only way around this is to synthetically alter the rice itself, as they do in some locations and treat it as a cosmetic decoration, rather than a real living thing. We refuse to do this and while we understand your perspective, we hope we have made ours clear as well.
Bed, breakfast and even a cooking class...”
We had taken cooking classes in Bali before and were pleasantly surprised that chef Carmel offers a cooking class at guerllia. We booked another night stay just so we could take the class. Chef Carmel’s class was all business, and that suited us just fine as we learned so much in a short period of time. Our experience with these classes is usually in larger groups and it was great and more personalized with just us and the chef. I great value if you consider how much a personalized class would cost in the states. Definitely a worthwhile experience.
