Traditional Ryoukan Experience!”
One of my best unique stays during my trip! Very traditional style, so it's perfect for escaping the city type of trips! We stayed in a private room, and there was so much space! The staff were incredibly helpful! Gave us recommendations on how to get to the Beppu Hot Springs area even before we checked in, they were able to keep our luggage as our room was getting prepared. They went above and beyond when they helped me find slippers that fit me, even though they were just about to go home for the night. Truly appreciate their kindness! Beds were comfy, kitchen and public dining area were well equipped, atmosphere was very relaxing. Just a few things to note: No lifts available, but the stairs help wake you up in the morning. Only public bathroom available, so be prepared to get that onsen experience! And no eating in the private bedrooms!

Nice budget option with a traditional feel”
Definitely an older (but nice) property. Despite the building's age, appears to be in good, maintained condition (they were doing some maintenance work on the second floor while we there). Clean. While I can't speak for all rooms, do not expect a private bathroom (ours did not have one). Communal hot spring bath on first floor is maintained very well, and is quite hot. Building is closed between check-out (10AM) and check-in (3PM), so I would not expect that they will accept bags before check-in or after check-out. Shared kitchen on first floor is clean, stocked with basic cooking equipment and utensils, has 2 refrigerators and a seating area. Immediately next to oceanfront, convenient walking distance to airport and local bus stops, numerous food options (mostly across the main road).

The location is very close to the main beppu station but to get there is best to take a parallel street if you have big luggage and want to get there by foot which is totally possible. The staff is very professional and nice. While they clean from 10 ish to 3pm guest are advised to leave the guesthouse but you can use the onsen all night long! it's a small onsen but it's relaxing. While I was staying there many other guests, most of them japanese. The space inside a room was a little bit crowded but I could place my suitcase outside the room and the locker was big enough to hold my backpack. After my stay, nothing got stolen :) It was very safe, friendly and I would totally go back

Good Nice Simple Minimalistic Zen Style Interior Design Inn”
A nice recently renovated 3-storey wooden inn with minimalistic Zen style interior design. Rooms are simple tatami with futons. We stayed for a week to enjoy a free and easy relaxation vacation at the various onsen hot springs in Beppu. We booked a family room so we had a whole bedroom to ourselves. Even though the bathroom is shared with guests, by which we must understand that it is their traditional culture and way of living. The host and staff are English-speaking and friendly.

Large tatami room”
The location is great where you can walk to Beppu Train station. The bus stop is a few meters away from the hotel itself. YouMe shopping mall is within walking distance. The tatami room that we stayed in was huge more than enough for two people. The kitchen is small with just one electric burner, a small microwave but it was sufficient for our stay. The dining room has three tables thus able to sit around 12 people in total. The hotel has its own onsen thus one can experience onsen. This is also the shower place so do not be surprised that you will shower with other people onsen style. All in all we had a wonderful experience staying in this accommodation and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience staying in a Japanese style accommodation.

Good location, great price”
It'd be hard to find a decent hotel at a price that this place offers. It's nice, but no 5-star hotel. If you like the traditional feel, it's got tatami floors everywhere (though that means you can't eat in the rooms), traditional futon beds, and a hot spring bath downstairs. Location is decent, about a 10-15 minute walk to the JR Beppu Station.

I'm a motorbike rider and was worried about parking lot for the bike... coz there's no description on the web page for reservation. But the staff kindly prepared for it by negotiating with another hotel of the same family. Thx!! The staffs were very nice Japanese speaker, and English speaker as well :-) And what is more, I could use the public bath even after the next day in the morning. I took 2 times for the stay. So refreshing! The only thing I'd like to ask the hotel is, keeping the bath mats clean and dry. They were always wet and dark-looking a bit... But I bet I'm using this hotel everytime I'm coming to Beppu!! Many thx for your hospitality :-)

Great guest house with Japanese Ryokan style. I stay at a private room which come with futons. Clean room with comfortable futon. There is a sink inside the room but sharing bathrooms and toilets outside. There is hot spring bath to use for free as well. The kitchen is available to use freely with kitchen wears, also free coffee and tea. Recommend this place.

Underpass pedestrian walk, stairs to 3rd floor (female floor). No seaside view.”
To reach the other side of the street where the Guesthouse is, coming from JR Beppu, I have to take the pedestrian underpass at the street corner OR need to walk a block away to the left and cross using a street level pedestrian pass. My room was at the third floor [female floor) and I have to take the 3 flight of stairs, with my luggages - there is no elevator. I appreciate the help of the male staff who brought my luggage up to the third floor. But on way down, I have to do it by myself. Inside the room, 6 tatami mats are laid out so close to each other that when I open the door, I have to walk carefully as one occupant blocks the door already. Entire room has only one source of light. Each tatami mat has a divider though. There is a hot bath that is in the poorest state of maintenance - rusted pipes, broken faucets. In the map, GH MAtsukiso is so near the sea BUT in reality, the Guesthouse faces a construction site and the view of the sea is blocked off.

You can enjoy the taste of classic Jpn style ryokan, however, it seems run-down inside. Low cost guest house should be this way, liked very well trained staff members, natural and friendly. Good for the price.

Solid accomodation but nothing extra”
This accomodation is run as traditional japanese guesthouse, it is quite cheap and has awesome onsen. Also there is great restaurant just next door. But the group logding is a bit unconfortable. In peak season there might be up to 10 people, which is a lot for such small room. (Not mentioning lack of power sockets.) However I was lucky to be there off main season, with only one other guy sharing the room.

Odd system ”
Pros- staff were kind, sleeping was quite comfortable and close to station Cons- we booked a two night stay, expecting to be able to use facilities (shower, kitchen etc) at any point between check in on day 1 and check out in the final day. However this is not the case. They close all facilities including Ibsen, shower, toaster from 10-3 for all guests even if they have booked multiple nights, and we were told we were lucky not to be kicked out of our beds at 10am as this is their normal policy. Would be fine if that was on the day of check out, however this was not!

À 20 minutes à pied de la gare des bus train. Très belle auberge avec onsen. Des casiers pour les affaires sensibles, thé café offert. Petite cuisine. Espace dans la chambre.. très bien situé pour ensuite rayonner autour de Beppu à pied ou en bus.
