Peaceful chalet in the woods”
Coco garage is in the middle of the woods, very remote, which means very quiet. Check in and out time is very odd (5pm and 9am) but our host made our stay the most enjoyable. He is passionate about old cars and the US, which reflects in the decoration. The chalet accommodates 10 people at least, we had it to ourselves. We had wood and extra heater to warm ourself up. There is an extra nicely decorated common room if a kitchen was needed. Music, massage chair were available in the chalet. Our host gave us delicious strawberries when we arrived and hot pop corn when we left for the road.

Stay in familiar atmosphere”
We stayed two nights to go up Mt Karakuni and visit the south of Kyushu. Cocos Garage is in the middle between Karishima and Mt Karakuni. We had our own car so getting there was no problem. The property has two buildings, one with the laundry and cooking room, and one with the bedroom, shower etc. The main building is also a coffee place but was not open when we were there. The owner was very helpful, it was easy for us to communicate in English. All in all, a very nice stay in the south of Kyushu, near Mt Kirishima and very secluded. Facilities were very good, sleeping comfort was also good. Pros: Very friendly owner Property in good shape, we had it all to ourselves Facilities are good We liked the location and the special flair of the building, with old stuff decorated around the room Cons: I think you need a car to get there Internet is too slow for streaming videos but good enough for emails and surfing Note: the cafe is not always open, so you have to check with the owner if breakfast is possible or not and/or if dinner is possible or not. We had one breakfast there and the other time we prepared our own.

the owner is the cause of why I really love this guesthouse he was warm and kind, did everything for me to stay comfortably there were facilities which handmade by him, he likes old things he said and explained why he start his guesthouse kindly at that night with coffee, of course he made it for me I really recommend this guesthouse for anyone plus, this area has great nature and historical shrine, hot springs you have spend several days here otherwise your trip in Kyushu will be ruined but there were no restaurants nearby so be careful to prepare something to eat and drink in advance
