Good deal for people visiting the islands”
Good location. Nice room. Very clean. Good deal for a one night stay. It s Japanese style house but it s not a ryokan : no meal, no breakfast, no bath. Just a guesthouse opens by night. No staff during the day. That s why I recommend for people needing to stay at UNO port before boarding to visit the main islands. If you look for a real ryokan with a Japanese atmosphere. don t go. Salut ne inconvénient : as it s closed before check in at 5, they can t keep you your luggage if you leave late.

Simple, convenient, comfortable ”
It's only a few minutes walk from Minayoura port and bus stop. The rooms are simple and comfortable and the shared showers and toilets are clean and convenient. For breakfast, free bread, butter, jam, and honey are provided in the kitchen + common area. Tea and coffee are available all day. The women running the guesthouse are friendly and helpful. I have nothing to complain about! An affordable and comfortable stay :-)

Great find”
We were keen to visit Naoshima and booked things very last minute. Although costing more than other places, it was excellent. We arrived at 9am to leave our luggage and the friendly staff were there to take it. Just a word of warning, there aren't always staff at the Ryokan (especially during the middle of the day) so make sure when you book that they will be there when you arrive. The room was clean and had different paintings on each of the walls. The dinner recommendation was excellent and it only a short walk to Uno port. Everyone should try and go to Naoshima and this place is a wonderful place to stay (but maybe book directly through accommodation - they have and email - as seemed to be extra charges added on by Agoda).

Very helpful staff. Simple but comfy room. ”
very helpful. We arrived in the morning but we can keep my luggage in the guesthouse and then go to Naoshima before check in at night. Room is simple, clean and comfy. We can have a private bathroom on the ground floor which is new and clean.

Nice but noisy ”
We enjoyed our stay at this simple, but also reasonably priced, hotel with Japanese style rooms. Shared bathroom. The main issues were that the room was next to the street (very noisy) and that there was no dark curtains (very bright in the morning). Overall, staying here is a good option if going to Naoshima.

Perfect for 1 night”
Walking distance (10 min) to uno station. Very clean, very nice staff who we met around 12 pm when we arrived and wanted to leave the luggage - our room was already ready so we could check in. Cons: smoking is allowed inside and because of the thin walls you small smoke from the nighbour's room.

For Art Pilgrimage”
Can't ask for more if you're going to the Benesse Art Site. The pier is only a few minutes away. You can go to an island per day and return to the port town with all the necessaries at hand.

Stay somewhere else if you can.”
I hate to leave a poor review however, this was the worst stay of my trip in Japan. I was unable to sleep at all and am completely exhausted today. I could not wait to get out of there. I was in the Small Double Bedroom and the worst part was the restroom attached to the bedroom that reeked of fermented urine, it made me gag to have the door open. The restroom also has disturbing artwork that combined with the odor to create a terrible environment for anyone to sleep. The host is kind but the hotel is in need of major renovation. There was also a large crab crawling around the lobby area in the evening - very curious. This was a last-minute change of plans to stay here to have another day on the islands. If you can, I recommend staying somewhere else.

Pricey”
Quite expensive given its location in a small coastal town compared to hotels on kyoto and osaka and that the overall feel of the property is quite dated (in a 1970s way)

Worst stay night in 10 day trip to Japan. Cost same as stay in wonderful Ryokan with meals included”
Odd really as booking through same company but complete disparity in ratings. Hang something up hook falls down ? Hole in wall where light possibly fallen off. Location looks countryfied but actually on a busy road !

Refused a refund despite ongoing COVID-19 pandemic”
Tried reaching out to the accommodation as our honeymoon had to be postponed due to the global pandemic, was told they wouldn't issue a refund and would have to contact Agoda, the Agoda website however kept referring me back to contacting the accommodation... either way we had to pay for a room we had no physical way of occupying as we are unable to cross borders

Ask for the password and check in before 9”
pro: the room was spacious and had more than i needed for one night (even washing machine!) con: neither agoda nor the hostel had informed me of the password at the door and that check-in had to be before 10 (i chose 22:00-23:00 in the drop-down). when i arrived at 10, the door was locked and i was helpless. luckily someone just happened to go out and the hostel allowed self check-in
