A nice recently renovated 4-storey suburban guesthouse with a warm and comfy wooden interior design. The cozy and comfortable family rooms are simple tatami with balcony, with amenities such as futons, air-con/ heater, TV, a small table and chairs, refrigerator, kettle, safe box, wash basin and a restroom. Do buy and bring your own towels. We stayed for a week to enjoy a free and easy relaxation vacation at the various onsen and hot springs in Beppu. We booked a family room so we had a whole bedroom to ourselves. Even though the kitchen and the shower room to bathe is shared with guests, by which we must understand that it is their traditional culture and way of living and socialise. The staff are courteous, friendly, helpful and have basic English proficiency.

This place is clean and near train station. Wifi is very fast. Free Breakfast is very good, salad peanuts, salad potatoes, boiled egg, bread, cereal, coffee, milk. Closed to bus station. We bring our towels because they did not provide towel. Free onsen inside. They have free microwave for use. 100 yen for washing machine. If we come back to Beppu , we will stay hear.

My family were pleased with the guesthouse, so much so that we had extended our stay for a few more days in Beppu to explore the coastal hot spring town, and so we had a long stay special offer deal for the pocket-friendly economy travellers. Its interior gives a warm and pleasant feel, but I suggest that the exterior of the building should be given a new fresh coat of weatherproof paint of a neutral and nature colour to give a even more refresh look to complement its interior design. Staff are also commendable for their helpfulness, thoughtfulness, and good customer service support. My family appreciated it. Thank you. Warm regards.

Incredible value for money! This place feels more like a ryokan than a hostel, they even have an onsen and a good breakfast for free. The location is great- right on kitahama bus station, 10 minutes walk to beppu station. The staff were also very kind and fun to talk to (especially if you can speak Japanese). If you come to Beppu, definitely stay in Sunline!

Comfortable hostel in a great location with friendly staff. The female dormitory didn't have bunks, but actual beds with some floor space, which was a nice change. The buffet breakfast was good and the staff checked every 10 minutes if refills were needed. No private showers, but in-house Onsen facility provided. If you've always wanted to experience Onsen but felt uncomfortable going to the public one, this is a great place to learn your ropes and unwind after a day of sightseeing (few people and mostly foreigners, definitely less judging atmosphere!).

Almost the cheapest price for dormitry stay in beppu and offer Onsen! Tatami room is very big and mine has a small balcony! Fridge offered. Easy to access by 15min's walk from beppu station and located in the 北滨旅馆街 at the seaside.

This hotel is gorgeous not only for their staff, facility, and service, but also applied for the Japanese style bed and mattress. And, they also have their own free spring service for each guest. The staff could speak good English and easy to communicate. I will be no hesitate to choose it next time. Great Beppu city and people.

You will know how worth to stay here once you experience in Guest house Sunline Beppu. Everything is good, location within walking distance from Beppu station. Room is spacious, there are locker provided for value belongings. Complimentary breakfast is simple and good :) No bathroom but there is provided free onsen.

Hostel is a bit run down but i didn't mind it. Showers are public in the female onsen area. You don't have a private shower, i booked solo so not sure about the private family room if they have own shower. Onsen was super nice tho. No amenities like toothbrush was given. They have slippers to wear.
